This is a nice change from the glitzy resorts of the Kona coast. Beautiful grounds and main house. As other reviewers have noted, this is not a B & B and there isn't a front desk although the owners are around and available. And if you can't live without wifi, this is not the place for you. We stayed in... More

This place is an amazing old Ranch House and Inn. If you are looking for a spotless room with modern furnishings this may not be the place for you. On the other hand if you are looking for a chance to experience a little history of a past era you will find this to be a great experience. We spent... More

I've driven by this place so many times and wondered what it might be like. I finally got the chance to find out. I spent one night and was in the Vanda room (which is actually a suite). This is a historic home with a fascinating past. My room was quite lovely and I felt a little like I should... More

We planned to stay 4 nights. Beautiful location with much potential. We were upgraded and walked into the cottage suite immediately smelling mustiness The bath was redone nicely however we found live cockroaches in the am by the coffee pot. The bedroom was nice if it hadn't been for the overstuffed musty chair. There were doors to close off the... More

Stayed for 1 night, wasn't too bad but a little disappointing considering the price. Pros- interesting decor, large bathroom, clean, neat and tidy. Friendly staff. Location ok, 5 mins out of Waimea. Cons- musty room, dated decor, no TV. Overpriced ($200aud)

We stayed in the Passion Flower room in August, and it was wonderful. The room was very clean and neat. There is a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a large shower to boot. There's no television, which I like. It does get cold in Waimea due to its altitude, so beware of that. There are heaters provided. There... More

We stayed four days at the Jacaranda Inn. The room was dirty, unkept, and very disappointing. There were cobwebs and dust every where. In addition, ants on the floor, the bathroom tile look like it had not been mopped in months and so much food and dust in and behind the couch it made you cringe! This is not a... More

I LOVE THE JAC. I discovered this property 4 years ago while on assignment on the big Island. Waimea, especially, has a unique and lovely peace. Due to Keck they have rules about the amount of outdoor lights in town....so nightfall means literally...nightfall. Next light is the sun. The Jacaranda has become my escape. My quiet place. My mental reboot.... More

The room's appearance was nice, clean, the bed was acceptable. No a/c no screens on the windows or doors. The insects were not deterred by the best of bug repellent. The age of the building showed it's presence in the lobby and in the room.
