Location was great. The room was pretty old. We found lots of live roaches throughout the bedroom area and bathroom. The sheets appeared dirty. I couldn't stop itching the entire night in bed. And it was so loud there. People above us seriously talked so loudly the entire night long. There was dragging of furniture above us at 3 am.... More

This was a nice, large room. Parts were old but functional, parts were absooutely charming. The restaurant next door is great. The bad part - when we got ready for bed, the sheets on the bed were GROSS! Clearly had not been changed! I went immediately to the front desk and just asked for clean sheets. The lady there came... I stayed 1 night. I had to ask for soap at reception. The fridge wouldn't work and I had to change it to another powerpoint to get it going. The chairs were so grubby I wasn't game enough to sit on them. My view was of the school next door.

We had a large comfortable room. The room looked like it was in a lodge even though it was in the middle of town. The hotel had a restaurant that served good food. It was also close to other restaurants and shopping.

This definitely is a very run-down place, as noted by other travelers. Bathroom old but at least clean. Kitchen cabinets did not smell good and we washed everything before using it. What definitely was unacceptable was that the beds were not made because of "personal items" (very obviously our PJs) on the beds. Also, management should instruct their cleaning personnel... More

Chose this hotel for its location and access to north shore and Mauna Kea. The low price around holidays should have given the truth away: the place is old, shabby and mediocrely maintained. 2 large beds were adequate but did not look inviting, one thin blanket each, worn sheets, hard lumpy pillows. We got several dirty towels - or maybe... More

Though as some have noted the rooms are older, the value for the Waimea Country Lodge was great. The room was very spacious and clean. It was nice to pull up right to your door and unload/load, rather than going to a big expensive resort. That was extra time that I was able to use to see the Big Island!... More

We were looking for something right in Kamuela/Waimea and had not been there for awhile to see how run down the property was. Prime location in the center of town. The lady at the desk was very nice and tried to be accommodating. However, the outside of the building looks awful. There is no AC and it was sweltering. Windows... More

The facilities of this country lodge were so lack that you would think you are back in the 80's of last century. There was no hot water for making tea or coffee, not only in the room but also in the office either. So basically you can't expect any service there. The only good thing I could say is that... More

Stayed for one night breaking our travels around the big island, check in was smooth and friendly but the room! No air con and it was very humid, curtains didnt block out the light either. Big disappointment, it could be so much better with an upgrade and still keep its charm, that includes a tv from the 21st century. Coffee... More
