We stayed at Mountain Meadow Ranch during our last days of Big Island adventure. Excellent location – close to both Mauna Kea observatory and beaches. Gay and Bill are very hospitable and charismatic owners – they showed us around the property, introduced us to their beautiful horses, and told us all about the best places to visit in their area.... We stayed in the self-contained cottage well away from the main house so we had little contact with hosts Gay and Bill, but when we did they were pleasant, interesting, and chatty. The 2-bedroom cottage has spacious interconnected kitchen, dining, living room areas opening through large glass doors on to a west-facing deck over-looking horse pastures. The bathroom is a... This is a most recommendable B & B, set in beautiful, quiet countryside. The room was luxurious and vast and Bill and Gay provided an excellent breakfast in the room, as well as very good advice for local eateries and visits.

This is very beautiful, quiet place convenient to the northern part of the island. Waipio valley is only 20 minutes from here. Waimea is also close by. Bill and Gay are wonderful hosts. The suite is beautiful. It is very spacious with large living room/dining area, bedroom with king bed, microwave, small fridge, and spacious bath. The continental breakfast is... More

We stayed at MMR our first two nights in Hawaii, and was a great place to start off our vacation. Gay and Bill were very friendly hosts, but also respected your privacy. Finding MMR was easy, as long as you follow the directions provided. While at MMR, we visited North-East portion of Hawaii (Waipio Valley), and getting there only took... More

The four days at the Mountain Meadow Ranch in June went by far too quickly. The owners, Gay and Bill George, were consummate hosts, offering an apartment or cottage at the foot of Mauna Kea nestled in woodlands and meadows filled with horses, wild turkey, lemon trees and solace. A continental breakfast was always ready whenever one wished, set aside... More

This year (2011) will be my 10th or 11th visit here. What a great place! I sleep here like nowhere else, and sometimes imagine I'm there when I'm at home. Bill and Gay are great, and it's always a relaxing, enjoyable time!

Such a lovely peaceful place to stay. The final morning the clouds finally cleared and the view of Mauna Kea from the bedroom & porch was gorgeous. The suite was beautifully equipped & really spacious with wi-fi & satellite tv. The privacy & quiet made this b&b a real pleasure. The location is near Waimea so convenient for horse country,... We stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute. The hosts are genuinely nice people who ask about you but don't pry and do everything to make your stay really nice. The beds were totally luxurious - soft pillow tops with smooth sheets and beautiful comforters. Full and completely equipped kitchens (there are two units) and a deck with... More
