The location was right in the middle of the places we wanted to go on the east side of the island. Lory was a wonderful host, giving us plenty of travel tips and a beautiful, healthy breakfast. We loved the tropical fruits! The room was very comfortable, and we loved hanging out on the covered porch. We got up early (east-coast time), and there was instant coffee and tea available with a kettle to boil water. We'd stay again.

Great place to stay in Hilo. Reasonable price & good location. The service was perfect. The room is big & the bed was very comfortable. There is no AC in the room, but we did not feel it was necessary.
The breakfast includes local fruits & homemade bread with coffee. It was suitable for my wife, but I personally prefer vegetables in the breakfast. It was not a problem preparing it by myself after purchasing the necessary vegetables in a local supermarket.
This B&B is highly recommended for a couple with limited budget looking for a comfortable & quite location.

Lory and Stewart made us feel right at home at their B&B. The Sunset Room where we stayed was very comfortable and Lory made sure we had anything we needed. She generously accommodated our request for early morning coffee and her breakfasts were fabulous. Her homemade breads and muffins were delicious and we appreciated the effort she made to serve local fruits from her own trees on the property. Beautifully presented also. The B&B is in a convenient location for visiting all the sites in Hilo and the surrounding area. All in all a wonderful experience!

From the moment you drive up to the property, until the time you’re driving away, you’ll understand that you’ve found somewhere very special. There are three rooms total, each with their own outside entrance so you can come and go as you please. The rooms are clean and laid out well. The lanai where breakfast is served overlooks both the ocean/sunrise as well as the gorgeous property that leads back to a flowing river. (You can’t get down to it, but you can enjoy the view from above!)
Speaking of breakfast... wow, just wow. Lory, the owner, prepares a fabulous spread that is Insta worthy on a daily basis!!! Not only is it gorgeous, but it’s tasty, local, and most of it is picked from the various fruit trees growing on the property!!! She also gives a detailed description of each item on the table. (We had various diet restrictions within the group and she was excited to try new recipes to accommodate each of them!) I cannot say enough about this place! Honestly, spoil yourself. Let them spoil you. You will not be disappointed!

Stayed an entire week at this property with 4 friends. We loved it! Property is gorgeous and just a short walk to Boiling Pots and 1 mile from Rainbow Falls. The host made us a spectacular breakfast every morning and even catered to my vegan diet, including fresh fruits grown right on their land. It's just a short ride into downtown or the bayfront, so was convenient for many of our activities. If you're looking for more of a local feel and to experience the true Hilo Aloha spirit, this is a fabulous place to stay!

We were in Hilo and last minute decided to stay the night. We chose the Old Hawaiian B&B based on the description & reviews and we were fortunate that there was a vacancy. Everything about our stay was just the best! Lory was very helpful, responsive, fun and engaging. It was pouring rain when we arrived and she met us at our car with umbrellas which we very much appreciated. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. The bed was super comfy. In the morning, Lory provided us with a gorgeously prepared breakfast of local (mostly from their own yard!) tropical fruits, home baked goodies, fresh juice and coffee. We highly recommend the Old Hawaiian Bed & Breakfast and we will most definitely be back for another, longer visit. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed on New Years eve and the host was lovely and made our check in and stay very easy. The breakfast was fantastic! There were fresh fruits, juices, yogurt, eggs and homemade cinnamon rolls. The convo at the table with other guests and host was delightful too:)

We originally booked two nights for Sunrise room, got a free upgrade to Hawaiian room, which is the biggest due to other guests need 5 consecutive nights. Lory has the place very well managed. There is no TV now AC, but none is needed since we left early and return late and weather was cool at night. Breakfast was great with fresh fruits and tasty basked goods. We loved the coffee as well! Backyard is big and beautiful with flowers. It rained the first night and I was able to star gazing on the second night since her place is high on the hill and there were not much city lights. It is very close to Wailuku river state park, hence, close to Rainbow falls and Boiling ponds as well. Will not hesistate to recommend nor stay next time.

This B&B was one of the best decisions I've made on this trip. I was a little nervous about accommodations due to COVID but my mind was immediately put at ease. The room was extremely clean and well maintained, as well as the lanai where breakfast is served. Guests have their own entrance so no worries with high touch areas. Breakfast was fresh and an absolutely amazing way to start the day. The B&B is also perfectly located. Boiling Pots is a few blocks away at the end of the road, Kaumana Cave is a few miles away, and Rainbow Falls is almost a mile from the house. The house is also far enough out of the busy areas where you can sleep peacefully at night. I will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Hawaiian B&B! We came to the big island of Hawaii as part of our honeymoon. We arrived late at night and Lori was very accommodating. The room was perfect; spacious, clean and comfortable. And the grounds are just beautiful. When we moved on to another part of the island we regretted leaving, because we missed the amazing breakfasts in the morning. If we ever come back to Hawaii we would 100% stay here again.
