We absolutely loved staying at Hale Kai Hawaii B & B. The owner of B & B Rick is wonderful. He is very kind and took care of us to make sure we have a great time in Hilo. The beautiful fresh fruits and pancake breakfast on the balcony was magnificent. We even got to see some whales from the...

Thank you for having us, Maria & Ric! 🌺 We loved our stay at Hale Kai Hawaii B&B - the location cannot be topped! Going to sleep to the waves & waking up to the view of the ocean - amazing! Simple accommodation but exceptionally clean - great towels for the bathroom too. Highlight was Maria's coconut & macadamia pancakes...

We stayed in the heritage room for 3 nights and it was very nice. The room could get stuffy but the ceiling fan took care of that. We had some rain so we did not use the pool or hot tub until our 3rd day, but they were clean and refreshing! Our hosts were outstanding! Friendly and helpful! Make sure...

The deck and view were so nice that we brought food back the next night so we could enjoy the surroundings. Our hosts were available but unobtrusive. Would definetly...

We stayed in the Moana & Pele suites. One had a kitchenette and fridge. They have done a great job renovating the place as a B&B. The breakfasts were great. our favorite was a breadfruit frittata. Fresh fruit as well. Very knowledgeable about the area and the volcano.Parking was tight, but not troublesome. Quiet neighborhood on a stunning cliff to...

You can't beat sitting on the deck, eating a gourmet breakfast watching whales in the ocean, chatting with fellow guests around the communal table. The hosts were very helpful with suggestions for local sights and directions. Rooms are spacious if not luxurious, a shared fridge, nice to sit out on your 'patio', have a drink and see if the whales...

Whale watching at breakfast on the lanai while enjoying homemade macadamia pancakes with coconut syrup and fresh tropical fruit...a charming room with a vintage feel...falling asleep to a lullaby of ocean waves and chirping frogs...lovely hosts who not only provided sightseeing recommendations, but called my cell phone to warn me of an impending storm...Hale Kai was my first stop in...

We did a round the island trip by car and chose Hale Kai because of its location. It was a short drive to Akaka falls, the botanical garden and Hilo. We were extremely happy with the room, the beautiful ocean view and the breakfasts. We enjoyed getting up in the morning to watch the sun rise from our lanai ....just...
