Aaron's Cottage was our base while we explored Volcanoes National Park for a couple days. Our host warmly greeted us and gave us information about the local area while showing us our room. Our room was elegantly decorated and very comfortable. Even though it faces the road, it's a quiet area with a nice yard and parking space. We were...

We stayed at Aaron's Cottage in March 2017 for 3 nights. We found the accomodation to be very comfortable with a modern bathroom (although without a shower screen) with a comfy bedroom and shared kitchen facilities. Alan provided fresh fruit, eggs, milk and bread which made for a heathy and tasty breakfast. Alan was very helpful with ideas for locations to...

Aaron's Cottage is the best accommodation in Hilo! About 5-10mins drive from the centre of town, this place is quiet and extremely comfortable. The room was recently refurbished with a communal kitchen with all mod cons. Allan the caretaker was friendly and keen to make our stay great - offering advice on places to eat and swimming beaches for kids....

I was relieved when we found out we were staying in the renovated rooms which did not disappoint. Huge, clean, and comfortable - very nicely done. The shower without walls does make for slippery floors (bathroom and bedroom) - but not a deal breaker. Breakfast was good, and the friendly owner gave us a great recommendation for dinner which was...

We were welcomed and shown around but kept to ourselves. We also went out early most mornings and so didn't really use the food in the fridge each morning, but there were fresh eggs, juice and other things to prepare. Our room was number 3 i believe and had an odd shower, like not enclosed, which was fine but would...

There are actually 2 buildings with rooms, so I was a bit confused looking for my room in one building, when it was actually in the other. Luckily Alan, the manager, noticed me looking around and directed me to the correct room. We stayed 4 nights in Room 1, which was recently remodeled and clean and cozy. There is an...

The place is so quiet and located near the ocean in a pieceful neighborhood. The room was clean and recently remodeled. The owner is an amazing person, very friendly and willing to help. There is a kitchen as well and it's open for guests to use. Also there is no time frame for breakfast and u can enjoy fresh eggs...

Easy self check in. Rooms a little dated but I think they will be renovated, some of the units were being done while we were there. Breakfast supplies in communal kitchen were good. Friendly owner who checked up daily if there were any issues

Easy to find, clean, comfortable, nearby secluded beach so you could hear waves meeting the shore as you drifted off to sleep, easy living in Hilo! Would definitely stay again if I am ever in Hilo again.

We stayed here for 5 days during our time on Big Island. A small and very empty beach is direct 1 minute down the street. The owner is very kind. At the checkout he has shown us the new rooms which are currently being renovated and already now looking great!
