We really enjoyed our stay here for 4 nights. The proprietors seem to have put together the right ingredients for a delightful stay. There are three rooms all of which are nicely appointed with views of the water. You can easily walk into town, but do need to cross the highway and a bridge which is ok of you are... More

Thank you for your kind words. Just to clarify a couple of things, since the deck is about 20 feet from the ocean, we have to use plastic chairs and tables outside due to the excessive salt and humidity. Anything else rusts or deteriorates immediately and ruins the slate flooring. Also, the upper jets to the hot tub do work.... More

Our stay at Hilo Bay House was simply wonderful: Tina was the perfect host and went out of her way to make our visit to Hilo a memorable one. We stayed in the Harbor room, which was sparkling clean at all times and very well appointed. We absolutely loved the bountiful breakfast Tina provided each day: fresh tropical fruit as... More

Our 5 nights at The Bay House were perfect! The Harbor room is beautiful, the view of the water couldn't be better, the breakfast is wonderful. We loved all the little extras--guide books, umbrellas, flashlights, and ear plugs included. The common room provides a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster to share. Bread, cereal, hard boiled eggs, milk, juice,... More

Bay House is located right on the bay in Hilo, a convenient walk to great little restaurants and the farmers' market. The host, Tina, is energetic, helpful and thorough and serves a delicious omelette and local fruit every morning. The three rooms are all beautifully appointed (we had a chance to look at all of them), are bright and airy,... More

We stayed in the Bay Room for two nights on our honeymoon. The room was cozy and welcoming, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. Just what we needed after an adventurous first two days in Kona. Waking up in the mornings was a treat. There was a nice breeze, and the view of... More

We visited the big island for our 25th anniversary. We stayed 4 nights at the Bay house and 4 nights at the Hilton Waikaloa and preferred the Bay House over the Hilton. The king bed was super comfy. The breakfast was delicious and healthy. We tasted exotic fruit we may not have tried if Tina had not prepared it for... More

During my stay at the Bay House it was easy to communicate with both of the owners whenever I had questions about Hilo. It was also very easy to feel a comforting sense of privacy staying there, especially when sitting on the porch looking out at the ocean. Over my three night stay at the Bay House I got a... More

Great location for seeing the southern and eastern attractions on the Big Island - Volcano NP, Hilo, Akaka Falls State Park, Rainbow Falls, etc. Located on Hilo Bay with lanai overlooking the water. Great views. Rooms were clean, breakfast was substantial. Many thoughtful extras available such as bug spray for outings, umbrellas, informative guide books for area, ear plugs for... More

It was great to stay at this bed and breakfast - comfortable room, quiet, nice size, big balcony overlooking Hilo bay, listening to the ocean waves, generous breakfasts and a fantastic location so close to downtown Hilo with easy access. Two minutes drive to restaurants, under 10 minutes to the airport with great recommendations of what restaurants to go to... More

We stayed here for four nights and really liked the vibe. The hostess was very sweet but allowed you your privacy. The rooms are large with a lovely private lanai. The rooms are really clean and are decorated beautifully but relaxed so that you immediately feel at home. We stayed in the Palm Room. Every morning we would get a... More
