We chose Puakea Ranch for our small and intimate wedding ceremony. We stayed in the cowboy house, while our guests occupied the James Cottage and Miles Away. The fresh eggs, herbs, and mangos straight off the trees were a delightful part of the experience as were the sweet animals living on the property. We highly recommend Puakea Ranch for anyone... Our family of four stayed in Yoshi's house in March, and it was the highlight of our stay on the big island. Christie was extremely helpful in answering any initial questions we had and setting everything up. We arrived very late at night to a beautiful house and we felt at home almost immediately. Jackie was there the next morning... More

I am remiss in writing this review. My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend a wonderful week at Puakea Ranch and in Yoshi's House the end of January. Christie was amazing to work with, 100% positive and prompt with her responses. We had total privacy, and enjoyed the pool very much The bath house was fantastic. We loved... More

We stay at a lot of rental homes throughout the U.S., and my wife and I agree this is the best so far. Mind you, we had our reservations at first because too many good reviews sometimes leave doubt. The Ranch has 5 units to choose from; we stayed in what is known as the Cowboy House (which at one... More

If you want an authentic Hawaiian experience in an unforgettable setting and with great amenities, not a resort that could be anywhere, Puakea Ranch is the place to go. We stayed in Yoshi's House, gazed at sunsets from the front lanai and the south coast of Maui from the rear lania. We grilled nearly every night, bathed in our dedicated... More

I might regret this -- this positively reviewing such a gloriously discreet bastion of beauty, tranquility, and elegant grace. For Puakea Ranch is our spot to vacation and we'd hate to lose our rental spot to more tourists! We dream all year about our few weeks at Yoshi's House or Miles Away as we work here in Wine Country. I'd... More

We will be staying at Puakea in March for our anniversary in March, but we have been trying to stay there each March for the last three years. I had read about the Ranch in the Big Island newspaper, and when we saw a stay as an auction item for Hawaiian Islands Land Trust we bought it outright!! Unfortunately for... More

As empty nesters, we had been looking for a special place to take our grown kids for a family vacation. We had stayed at the Kona Village resort for many years and loved the "old Hawaii" feel. When it was destroyed in the tsunami a few years ago we were afraid we would never find another place in Hawaii that... More

We had such a lovely time staying in the James Cottage at Puakea Ranch. What a special place, we didn't want to leave. The cottage was very comfortable, sparkling clean, and had nice crisp white sheets. The property is gorgeous, peaceful and relaxing. Every morning we had our breakfast of fresh papaya picked from the nearby trees and farm fresh... More

My family and I had the most amazing time at Puakea Ranch! The cottages where very clean and had first rate finishes. The grounds where well groomed, but not overly manicured, with many paths to explore. We especially loved the garden from which we picked for our nightly dinners from. My toddler son enjoyed the play room with many toys... More
