We stayed for five nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this delightful B&B. All rooms have beautiful views overlooking lush vegetation and the sea beyond. In the evenings you can watch the sunset from your lanai and hear the insects and creatures chirping when it turned dark. It was fun to see the wild pigs roaming about and to watch the finches at the bird feeders every morning whilst we were eating the delicious breakfasts prepared by Elma. The hosts Carl and Elma were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. There was an impressive array of snorkelling equipment available to borrow as well as beach towels and reef shoes. Carl went out of his way to find a pair of fins to fit me. If we ever get the chance to come back to Hawaii we will definitely stay here again.

We would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to our Kind and Wonderful Hosts at Hale Ho’ola Bed and Breakfast, Carl and Emma. The rooms were wonderful with ocean views and the breakfasts were very delicious and satisfying. If you want a real taste of Hawaiian Life on the Big Island, this is the place to stay. Rex, the resident German Sheppard will be here to greet you with a friendly woof! The birds, Justin the gecko and the wild pigs will accompany you for breakfast. Aloha!

Carl and Elma are wonderful hosts. Couldn't have asked for anything more during our four nights stay at Hale Ho'ola B&B. Great location in Captain cook, quite close to two-step, one of the best places for snorkeling in Big Island. We stayed in the Palm suite that had a wonderful lanai with ocean view. Nothing like waking up to a delicious breakfast in the morning (that our kids finished each time, BTW ;-)) and being able to borrow all the gear necessary for a day on the beach..., with helpful tips from Carl and Elma on places to visit.

We found Hale Ho'ola to be a true gem: quiet and peaceful, surrounded by vegetation, yet a central location for branching off in any direction to see the sights of the Big Island. You are literally out in the country. From your very private lanai you can see cattle and wild pigs, and will be lulled to sleep every night by a chorus of coqui frogs. The ubiquitous geckos came and visited our lanai, as well as the breakfast lanai upstairs, wanting to make friends. Carl and Elma are delightful hosts, and were knowledgeable and helpful in planning our daily events. The property is located between two wonderful beaches, literally a 5-minute drive in either direction. All the necessary beach and snorkeling gear is provided, with an assortment to fit and please nearly everyone. Elma's breakfasts were ample and delicious, and provided an opportunity to meet the other guests and hear about their adventures from the previous day. l

We enjoyed so very much our two night stay at Hale Ho'ola B&B. Carl and Elma are outstanding hosts, making sure their guests' needs are all met. In addition to a delicious breakfast each morning, we were allowed to borrow snorkel masks/fins, beach chairs, umbrella and boogie-board, a convenience which saved us time and money. We stayed in the Plumeria Suite, which had an ocean view and small lanai. The Lanai had sufficient seating, along with a table and small fridge. The Location, south of Captain Cook, provided us a taste of the real Hawaiii; hope one day, we can return.
