This is a nice hotel, but you have to realize it is really is more focused on a winter experience. We were here during the summer. This is definitely an Alpine experience. It is decorated to an Alps motif. It’s a little worn but that’s what you find when the hotel is predominately for skiers. They had a very nice buffet breakfast and the service was very efficient and friendly.

At first glance you may think you have stepped back into a different time but the service and rooms remind you that you don't always need a large chain hotel for a great experience. The rooms are themed by era, very different, but still clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great and the views from the balcony are perfect. Check it out.

Roland and Anh are lovely - the rooms are unique and beautiful. But the breakfast especially was wonderful. The hosts are so kind- when Roland heard my mom rave over the scones, he immediately brought over a bag for us to take the ones we couldn't eat - so we could have them on the road. This is a great place to stay especially when visiting the schools in the area.

When I wrote my first TripAdvisor review of The Alpenhoff it was relatively unknown. I wrote it up as a price performer that few people seemed to know about. But that has changed ... and with it the pricing. Jackson is fairly pricey and getting congested. But when you stay at Teton Village there are a lot fewer people at night and relatively few, by comparison, during the day as everybody is taking the Tram or going trekking or whatever. The Alpenhoff is still good but not as good a price performer as in years past. Breakfast is included and it is not only convenient but fairly European/German in nature. In addition to the ubiquitous sweet rolls, bacon and eggs, you can also self serve varieties of cheeses. One of my favorites was the Hot Chocolate. It had been years since I had indulged in it ... but this was a vacation after all. Our room was on the second floor and looking towards the pool. I was initially concerned that people would be walking by it ... but other than a pool service guy once or twice that never happened. In fact hardly anyone used this sparkling blue pool. So we never noticed any noise from the pool area. The Alphenhoff is conveniently located very near the base of the Tram and a number of nice restaurants. Our favorite was the Many Moose. But Alpenhoff clients get 20% off at the same restaurant that you enjoy your included breakfast at. A nice plus. The room was nice, clean, and accommodating. But not really exciting. The bathroom was compact. For example, to get toilet paper you almost had to be a gymnast in reaching far behind you. But there was a fan in it, something lacking in many hotel bath rooms these days. Our room was located immediately adjacent to the ice and soft drink machines. That said, I never heard any noise from them into our room. And the ice was plentiful. The hotel staff was very nice and check-in was a breeze.

The best breakfast of any hotel I have been at. There is so much to choose from, but it doesn’t feel cheap it any way. The service was splendid. Yes, they had a waitstaff even though the breakfast was free and a buffet. The hotel itself was cozy and clean – though it could use some updating. My biggest complaint though is that there was no microwave or fridge in the room. I understand that style is supposed to be vintage and warm, but when I am paying over $300 a night for a room, I would like a fridge and microwave. The hotel is located in a great location, especially being so close to Moose Wilson road.
