.We chose the Red Reflet for a family getaway. With 2 twenty-something sons, we need an active vacation yet something that mom would also enjoy. We were all blown away by the great time we had in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. This property appealed to us more than other Ranch options because of its intimate number of guests - they top out at around 30ish. We made a great choice! All the guests have their own "chalet" which is a beautiful little house. We stayed in the Panoramic Chalet which had the most jaw-dropping views that we enjoyed from our deck every morning at breakfast. The staff stocks your chalet with breakfast foods that you can tailor to your family's preferences each day. The owners, Bob and Laurence, are very hands on. We had the pleasure of dining with them every day as the lunches and dinners are family style. The food was fantastic - thanks Clem and Charlie and the kitchen staff. The staff paid special attention to our few dietary restrictions and always produced phenominal meals. Bob and Laurence are warm, intelligent, personable and wonderful hosts! They truly want you to have an amazing experience. Laurence led us on a number of hikes and zipline adventures. She was incredibly encouraging and active in making sure that people experience things out of their comfort zones! I had a few special requests that she worked to arrange for me to make our stay even more memorable. There are an impressive number of activities to choose from and miles upon miles of trails to explore. You can use ATV's which are needed to traverse the vast expanse of the ranch; or you can explore on horseback; or fish; hike, swim, shoot on the firing range, or just relax and enjoy the awesome scenery. I had never ridden a horse before and we rode most of the days we were there, we enjoyed it so much! Penny and JJ were wonderful, encouraging us on our rides and showing me how to enjoy the views from on top of the horse. The Red Reflet is a working ranch so you will see all the horses, cows, chickens, sheep, working dogs (Copper and Percy were our two favorites) and cats around the property, in addition to all the other wildlife like deer, birds and Elk. The ranch is so unbelievably gorgeous, the staff friendly and supportive, the food great, the activities varied and enjoyable ... it is truly a great experience. We also had the chance to get to know the other guest at the ranch as we shared meals and activities. We have only been home a day or two but we miss Red Reflet already!

We just left and we wish we were back already! My 10 year old daughter and I stayed for 5 days for our “girls only” trip. We could NOT have had a better trip. So much to do and so much fun, we regret not having more time there. Everything was top of the line. The Couples Chalet was immaculate! Very luxurious and comfortable. Gorgeous views from every room. Laurence and Bob really thought of everything anyone could want in a stay and then went above that even. We loved having ATVs to go wherever whenever we wanted. We liked being able to have our breakfast in the chalet before getting ready to start our fun filled days and then being able to relax there again when the day was over in the hot tub or on the deck looking at the stars in the clear sky. The views and the vast array of colors of the area are breathtaking. Other than planned lunches at 12:30 and dinner at 7:00(which we really looked forward to talking and sharing what we did that day) the rest of the day was set by whatever we wanted to do. Ask and you shall receive is pretty much the norm here. Every single person on the ranch was a joy to talk to and could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Even though we enjoyed the rope swings and the slide at the pond and a little shooting and archery, tennis and the pool, the majority of the time was on horseback. We were able to learn barrels in the arena and outside with the girls(my daughter was hooked!) and move cattle -definitely the highlights of our visit! Kristina(sorry if I spelled your name wrong) Nicole and Morgan were fantastic wranglers and horsewomen, who made us feel very safe and comfortable and were very interesting and fun to talk with. Tammie also did barrels with us and was so friendly to hang with, as was Clay on the cattle pushes. On a ride my daughter wasn’t feeling well so one of the girls rode back and brought a truck to drive us back to the ranch. While my daughter slept, I went down to lunch and the chef specially made a grilled cheese to send back with me, along with the crackers and Ginger Ale they had given me for her. Very caring staff and hosts and our whole stay we felt that. We were definitely pampered. Other highlights were zip lining and playing Bananagrams with Laurence. We are buying that game! We had a great variety of foods at every meal, which we always looked forward to finding out what we were having next because we knew it’d be spectacular! Not only was everything absolutely delicious but also beautifully presented and followed with amazing desserts. Laurence had been showing my daughter Origami & she was so proud to fold “sailboats” for our last dinner. The beauty of this ranch matches the beauty in the hearts of Lawrence and Bob. We felt like we were with family and hope to return with the guys in our family so we can all enjoy it together. Thanks for the priceless memories and for sharing your beautiful ranch with us Bob and Laurence. See you next time! Rhonda and Brogan Schmitz

We are back home in New York and trying to adjust to normal life, after a week in the spectacular surroundings of the Red Reflet Ranch. Sometimes we even question if we were actually there, since all the elements of our trip were truly unbelievable: the lodgings, the food, the activities, the horses, the beautiful views, and of course the people. Each staff member we met was more friendly, kind and accommodating than the last. Laurence and Bob are both spectacular hosts and guides, and true naturalists; we feel privileged to have been able to spend some time and learn from them. Thank you so much for a simply stunning week; we look forward to returning!

Bob and Lulu have left no stone unturned with this magical palace of splendor.... every detail is divine. From the food to the chalets to the outdoor activities, me and my children were in paradise from morning to night. From the ziplining to the fishing to the hiking to the relaxing and horseback riding and gardening, Red Reflet Ranch is an enchanted hub of all things earthy, elegant and slightly impossible to articulate. Plus, the smell of sage and mint and backdrop of majestic mountains is pretty mind-altering... and did I mention that the food is out of this world?

This vacation was a celebration of my 50th birthday with long time girlfriends. I specifically chose this ranch due to its ratings and the availability of renting a VRBO instead of doing the all-inclusive thing, although it was certainly something we heavily considered for weeks before committing to anything. Money was never the issue; being able to cruise Wyoming while out there WAS. Each of the 5 of us had other day-trip interests, and so we agreed the VRBO would be the best arrangement. We planned to cook at the house and have a dinner or two on-site at the ranch. We had rented our own vehicle for the week. The VRBO property was nice and clean and the property around it was beautiful and full of wildlife-antelope, deer, cattle, rabbits, etc I had specifically discussed a la carte activities on the ranch for MONTHS with the guest manager (who, by the way, is amazingly sweet and enthusiastic and tried hard to accomodate our group-my suspicion is that the owner was not happy with her attention to our group). We wanted to do some on-site things and still be able to day-trip in other parts of Wyoming. Use of the ATVs was one particular interest we had (and I would recommend), but ATVs are given to each on-site ranch guest first priority. TOTALLY understandable. However, the ranch was NOT filled to capacity during our stay and the owner made some super snide comments to us about our thinking we would be able to use them for "free". Since I had made the arrangements and had the months-long discussions with the guest manager, I feel 200% confident that she knew that we were more than willing to pay, not just for ATV use for a half or whole day, but for each and every activity that we chose to purchase from them. Not once did we balk at their prices, however we found that our alternate plans were JUST as awesome, and about 2/3 the price. The owner seems at first bite to be a guardedly pleasant, but a bit pretentious, man. He subsequenty made it clear in almost every conversation with any of us that "if we had chosen to spend $725 a day per person, we could do what we wanted" and that basically WE had been a pain to deal with and that they had bent over backwards for us. UMMMM. The guest manager did so I believe, and frankly the property handyman did as well (seems the hot tub was kind of a forgotten part of the VRBO and was quite a mess when we decided to go down to use it). No nicer man exists in the world. But I digress.... The first day was a wash; we were unable to schedule anything as there were "guests arriving that day". Since this ranch is not a set week schedule, guests come and go for as many or as few days as they wish. Why was there nothing we could do? When asked, the other owner stated that we would not have been allowed to schedule anything in the days prior to our trip, and so making arrangements ahead of time would have not been possible. Huh? We did drive a large portion of the 27,000 acre property that day exploring and later did a 5 mile hike to some high ridges to kill some time. It was absolutely breathtaking. The properties on-site were GORGEOUS. The views are amazing. Clearly these people have good taste. It's simply unfortunate that this couple owns it. On the second day we had decided to take advantage of some open holes in the schedule to do some shooting, fishing and caving. After making the schedule for the next day, I received a call back stating that we needed to move some things around in order to accomodate guest priority, I'm assuming. We were totally agreeable to the rearrangement. I then received an email late that night saying that caving would not be something we could do as there was no guide and they didn't feel we would be able to find the cave(s). Why would you offer this if you aren't prepared to make the accomodation? The next morning, upon arrival at the ranch property, the fishing gear we were assured would be ready for us with instructions to get to the fishing ponds was a few poles with a lure or two on some but not on others and no instructions. No one "knew we were coming". The guest manager was unavailable as she was out on-site. The owner took this opportunity to go into his "$725 a day" spiel again. Since caving and fishing were out, we decided to cancel our plans to use the archery and riflery ranges that afternoon and go on a day trip. We can fish and shoot at home. The third day we had been told we could do some cattle ranching and horseback riding. I honestly was not willing to continue to waste my vacation time as I was sure that I would receive another email or call saying that we would not be accomodated for this very important one of my activity choices. We decided to leave early and try to replan our vacation. This was not easy, but several other ranches in the state were more than willing to help us out. Not all of them had availability, but if they didn't they gave us contact information for other ranches that might have space for us. They could NOT have been nicer or more helpful, and by no means did they owe us the hospitality. We simply wanted to participate in some day activities and some ranches DO accomodate this. Hospitality is part of what you are paying for when you plan something like this. The 5 of us MET because we were in the hospitality business in all kinds of roles years ago in a city that has been rated repeatedly to be the best city in the world and in the country. ALL of us are still in customer service on some level 30 years later. Of note are Blackwater Creek Ranch, Klondike Ranch, The Hideout and Tangle Ridge Ranch. Wonderfully nice, helpful and sorry that we had been let down. They invited us to consider them in the future and said we would be welcome anytime. They had PLENTY on their own plates with their own guests, but took time to help and even call back with suggestions. Apparently Red Reflet has a reputation for this sort of poor hospitality from the owners because many MANY people around the state were in the know--all the way to Jackson and beyond. What I liked best? The fossils, the views and the wildlife What I liked least? The condescending, pretentious, arrogant attitude. No thanks. The long and the short of it is that MY money is no better or worse than the next guy, including the owners of this ranch. We had planned to spend money, but I am SO THANKFUL that we did NOT end up giving these people $16,000+ for our vacation. We ended up doing some super fun things we had not looked into, did the day trips we wanted and blew our money in other places with other ranchers. I was let down, but fortunately we are all resourceful women and we came out on the other end of this ordeal having had a real blast!
