Very friendly people. Nice clean rooms and quiet location. Stayed with friends and enjoyed the small town atmosphere and local restaurants. The staff were able to give helpful hints and directions. Lots of parking. Easy to walk to bars and restaurants
We had reservations over Christmas week for 6 nights. Not many people besides us were booked for the week. The rooms were very clean, the help was friendly and extremely accomodating in making sure we had everything we would need over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as the office would not be open. We were scheduled to leave on Saturday morning but found out Thursday night there was a bad storm/blizzard moving straight across our path home and we decided to vacate town about noon on Friday. Since we had to leave due to weather conditions we thought we would just ask if we could possibly get our last night refunded. They did give us a refund (which is not their usual policy but was appreciated). Would definitely recommend the Bear Lodge Motel and we will stay there again!
My husband and I stayed at the Bear Lodge Hotel for one night in late August. We arrived after dark and were given a room on the first floor in a dark corner (no outside lighting). I had to use my cell phone flashlight to see the door and lock. I requested a second floor room when I made my reservation. The room was dark as well, even with the lights on. The room was small and very dated but had a newer bathy/shower unit. The toilet would not flush then would keep running. The bathroom door had a hole in it. We had a refrigerator, microwave and small TV. I used the refrigerator and it worked ok. The bed was average. We were told that breakfast would be served at 7 am. We arrived at the office at 7 am along with about 15 other people but the office was locked. At 7:10 am, we called the 3 emergency numbers listed on the door but no one answered the phone. We left a message. About 10 minutes later, we received a call back and were told they would be there in 10 minutes. We were on speaker phone so everyone was updated. Several people just left. A mailbox was outside the office for key returns. We had old style metal keys so I wonder how many duplicates are around town and elsewhere. The parking lot was very small and tight. When breakfast was served, we were offered muffins, Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits and croissants, honeybuns, granola bars, oatmeal, orange juice and milk. The milk was 2 days out of expiration. There are not many places to spend the night in Sundance. You might want to try another town. I would.…
Make sure you get a price confirmation before you arrive, or else you will be in for a big surprise. After hours of deliberation they finally gave me a partial credit on my over charge. They are a bunch of Coyotes, especially leading in to the Sturgis take every nickel that they can season! Then they tried to blame everything on a girl that no longer works there, as if this makes the screw job justified. Never again, I'll sleep on a bench in a park before I would stay at any of their properties. It was also not very clean.
We had a great sleep stop on our drive very close to Devils Tower. The motel was as expected and the breakfast was very good with selection of oatmeal, microwave sandwiches, cakes, etc. We are very pleased and will definitely return if ever in the area.
