The title says it all-5th visit to the Hideout. Why do we keep coming back? The horses, the scenery, the staff, the food, the facility-all is top notch. While we have seen so many different areas of the Bighorn Natural Forest and surrounding areas, we still feel there is always something new to discover and explore. We especially love doing the cattle work, it has been slightly different every year. The new kitchen staff was a refreshing change-great job Rachel! The owners, Peter and Marijin-really seem to love what they do, not merely greeting guests....they spend time with everyone. Head wrangler Tom works hard to keep everything running smoothly, and all safe and happy. Rebecca and Melanie in the office do their part to make sure your every need is met, if possible. Even the housekeeping staff and house and groundskeepers do a fabulous job....and we enjoyed the pool both this and last year, what a great addition! As I said in my very first review, THIS is the place to really enjoy horses and riding while at a guest ranch! No nose to tail stuff, we are allowed to really explore-within reason, of course....the cattle work especially can sometimes test your riding skills. We just love this place and everything about it. Hope to return again!!

When I was 4 years old, I wanted to be a cowgirl. Last month, I spent a week at the Hideout and got to live out that dream. It was my first time at a guest ranch. There I was, wearing a hat, Wranglers, and boots. I rode horses every day and moved cattle on 2 of those days. I felt like I was living in a Western movie except that no one got shot. My entire week was full of the unexpected. I met very interesting and friendly people. I learned many things about Wyoming and horses. The accomodations were beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were great at talking with people and telling stories. I would definitely recommend The Hideout.

Just arrived back from a brilliant experience ranching at the hideout ranch. We had a fantastic time and the owners Peter & Marijin to all the team from the wranglers, office staff, kitchen and in house staff made are stay so very comfortable. The food was delicious they even arranged a birthday cake to help us celebrate our joint birthdays, nothing was a problem everything they did was to make are stay a comfortable and memorable one. The ranch was beautiful, such lovely well trained horses, so many different rides and activities to do, breathtaking views, we even got to see some moose. What ever I write will not to this establishment justice, but will definitely be saving to make another visit soon. Thank you so much x

Absolutely blown away about the Hideout. The staff so friendly and helpful from the hospitality at the lodge (Rebecca, Melanie and Rachel) to the Wranglers, especially Tom, Mel, Lance, Lilly and Lauren who all took us out for our trial rides on beautifully looked after horses on breathtaking trail rides around Big Horn. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and provided everything you could need. All three meals each day were delicious and the grounds beautiful. There is also no need to worry if you forget to bring some item of clothing required to ride. Rain slickers and chinks (chaps) can be hired and they also have riding hats and boots if necessary. There is also a shop that sells an array of light clothing including hoodies and cowboy style hats (wish we had known that!). Finally, you’re safety but enjoyment is their priority and they ensure you have the right horse for your ability and constantly review this so if you are unhappy with one horse they will match you with another. Although the rides out are of mixed ability they do cater for this and do not push any individual to do what takes them out of their comfort zone. Six nights was not enough for us and we were extremely sad to leave. We have booked to return next year and can not Wait!

I just returned from a week long stay at this ranch. This is my second year. All I can say is it doesn't get any better than this. I grew up on a farm, have always felt comfortable and confident around horses and riding, but watching and learning from the Head Wrangler and his staff of approachable hands-on experienced upbeat and friendly wranglers, made this trip better than exceptional. The real reason I come to this ranch is for the scenery.... which is truly unbelievable and for this review, indescribable!!! The second reason is to return to my youthful need for riding and getting my up close and personal horse-fix. The outstanding meals, accommodations and ranch grounds are a magnet for me as well, but most of all the overall feel of genuine welcoming, brought me back this year and has already caused me to re-book for next year. This will likely be my horse-fix go-to for countless years to come. But I must also compliment the personnel in the office that cater to every guest's need when booking, renting items, gift shop and any other cabin issues that might arise. Rebecca and Melanie, thank you. The owners as well, Peter and Marijn were not only available, they projected a genuine interest in each guest and their desire to make their riding experience fabulous. The kitchen/dining personnel, so spoiling. Oh and the Happy Hour every night where all the riders share their daily experiences while actually viewing most of them on the flat screen. This is a huge benefit to the guests. Sipping a cold beer and watching your ride thru beautiful mountainous terrain... ahhh, it just doesn't get any better than this. Both of my trips to this Ranch have been worth every cent!!! Thank you Hideout.
