Ongelooflijke adembenemende natuur, gastronomisch lekker eten, heel erg vriendelijk en toegewijd personeel en last but not least, zeer mooie en betrouwbare paarden ! Mijn volgende verblijf is reeds geboekt !

We stayed at the Hideout's Trapper Creek Lodge and wouldn't have missed it for anything. Our room was huge, with hearty cowboy decor & fireplace, a small fridge, a gloriously comfy kind-sized bed, and French doors out to the porch and a wonderful view. The room opened directly off the supper club dining hall. Supper was great (beef of course) and lots of fun -- entertainment was provided by a local singing cowboy recovering from a bone-crushing encounter with his cow pony. However, service was decidely odd: the waitress who greeted us clearly did not expect overnight guests, and wasn't particularly thrilled to take time out from seating/serving dinner guests to welcome us. At our insistence that we had reservations, she asked around in the kitchen and found a note (on a "grocery list" of items) indicating we would arrive. And had prepaid. She showed us to our room. During dinner we inquired about breakfast service and found out that we would be the only persons on the premesis during the night and in the morning. So, we had the place to ourselves, and after supper never spoke to another person. In the morning we took two chairs off a table top and made ourselves at home -- eating leftover steak and potatoes, and a bit of fruit from our picnic basket. And then we left. For some guests the unexpected isolation might not be fun or comfortable. We would go again, but we think that Trapper Creek Lodge needs to work on its "welcome" and let guests know ahead of time that they'll be on their own. We also think that they should turn off the light in the parking lot...then guests can see the stars.
