They require a signed contract and full payment prior to finalizing our reservations - this is not unusual given they host very few guests and last minute cancelleations would be a major problem for them. What is unacceptable is that the contract clearly states that if either the customer or the Ranch is not able to meet the conditions of the contract - THERE IS NO REFUND ALLOWED. It clearly mentions staff illness and says that this would not be grounds for a refund - so let me get this straight - in the year of COVID 19 and surging infection levels - if one of their staff tests positive for COVID 19 and they have to close for a period of time and if our scheduled visit would be affected - THERE WOULD BE NO REFUND! So $20K spent on a trip that did not happen would be gone with no recourse. Special considerations for COVID 19 and potential need for last minutes changes in plans due to no ones fault but a global pandemic - should be clearly defined and full refund permitted. I will not have the opportunity to find out if 3 Forks Ranch lives up to their reputation or not - but my experience with them is 1 star (not 5).

My family and I stayed for six nights of spectactular skiing on a private mountain surrounded by hundred of thousands of undeveloped, beautiful land.We were typically on the moutain alone- 5 people! It is so quiet that you can hear the snow falling from trees. The guides are incredible- so nice, so informative and all around great people. The staff makes you feel like family. The lodge itself is impeccably and dramtically designed. You enter into an enormous living room with 40 ft + ceilings, roaring fireplaces and a mix of European antiques mixed with hundreds of western oil paintings. It is so comfortable and welcoming. My children ages are 16-28 and all three of them would say it was their best vacation. We have never experienced such incredible people in such a beautiful environment. If you love nature, as we do, this should be on your bucket list! I would say it is once in a lifetime trip but I can't believe that anyone who goes to Three Forks wouldn't return. Skiing in the Alps is beautiful but here there is so much more. The snowmobiling allows you to truly appreciate the land ( 200,000 acres ) and how it is unspoiled. Passing numerous settler cabins brings back the feel of the Old West. The lodge is filled with beautiful Indian art as a tribute ti the original tribe who summered in the valley. The service is impeccable. You will feel like family when you leave and you will do so reluctantly! Go and enjoy-- you will be so happy you did!

I am not much of an online poster but I felt the staff went above and beyond once again! This years elk hunt and trout fishing was incredible, as always, but I have another story to tell. Our family visits Steamboat for Christmas every year, 18 years going strong. This year a Christmas tree was no where to be found in town! With young boys I was scrambling! After numerous calls to friends in town, I called Jenn at 3 Forks to see what she knew. Within minutes she called back stating Brian Jarrell was in route with a tree for our family! I can’t thank the staff at 3 Forks for such a kind gift! It truly hit home to know they truly care about our Holiday! Thanks again to everyone at 3 Forks and have a great Holiday, see you again in September!

I, my father, my brother and two close friends had been trying to book an Elk Hunting trip for many years and, finally the stars aligned. We decided on the Three Forks Ranch. Wow, what a great decision. First of all, my father is getting up there in age and we all have different levels of endurance, but despite this, we were all able to harvest a trophy elk. One in the 300+ range! The staff was beyond accommodating, and the cabins were comfortable and clean. Meals were fantastic and all inclusive. After the hunt, we were fortunate enough to experience the trout fishing. This was also beyond comparison, after catching and releasing multiple 20 inch plus Rainbows. I highly recommend this property as a hunting or fishing destination, and want to especially thank our guides, Little Al, Dan, and John. Also a big thanks to all the Three Forks Staff! We'll be back soon.

This was a bucket list trip for us. From the first time we heard about Three Forks Ranch we knew we had to go. Never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined such a place. Words and pictures will never begin to describe the beauty of the lodge and surrounding area, the attention to detail in everything about our stay, the impeccable, efficient, friendly, attentive staff and the unbelievable food, spa, fly fishing. Our guide, Jimmy, shared our excitement, enthusiasm and love of fly fishing. We felt he really wanted us to have the best possible experience. Sometimes we have had guides that take you to a location and hope you catch fish, Jimmy was determined to make our experience the best we ever had, and he achieved that. We have stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island and thought that was above service oriented, they don't hold a candle to Three Forks Ranch! (nothing against The Ritz Carlton). My husband and I both had spa treatments and longed for more. If you ever have the opportunity to experience Three Forks Ranch, do not pass it up!
