This hotel has a lot of unrealized potential. The rooms have nice furnishings but they're allowed to have marks and scrapes and scratches all over the walls that are already due for an updated paint to be more modern. the rooms are comfortable, the showers are big, there's great water pressure, and it's insulated well. The staff was not very friendly, there was an unusual and unpleasant smell upon entering the hotel, and what really made me knock my rating of the hotel down so far is that before 930 in the morning all of the doors will be at beaten on by housekeeping... No signs/cards either. My alarm was set for an hour later as I was a very late arrival. There's nothing quite like having your sleep interrupted by banging on the doors in such a way that you would think there was an emergency in the hotel. A few other guests were talking about the very same so I recognize that I'm not the only one who felt offcut by this and therefore I'm including it in my review.

I was going to press on to Rock Springs for the evening but mountain snow became an exhausting adversary. I had stated before at the America's Best Value Inn in Rawlins before and was happy to return. I've read other reviews and my experience was different and positive. The front desk man was very helpful and the room comfortable. The breakfast was also decent. I recommend it and will return.

I booked online for a one night stay as I was in this sleepy town for a one day business trip. The location is somewhat isolated from the rest of Rawlins as it is the only spot located south of I-80. Next door is a truck stop and diner. The front desk clerk was among the unfriendliest people I have ever encountered at a hotel check-in. It was like I was inconveniencing him by reserving a room. Check out was equally awkward, sorry I stayed here sir! Overall, the hotel is run-down and it is evident they have not spent much effort or money on maintaining this aging property. My room was spacious, but bed, sheets, decor, shower stall, vanity, fixtures were from the 1980s. My room faced the truck stop parking lot and could hear semi engines all night long. Shower fixture was broken, bath faucet leaked and the bed was quite uncomfortable. My room was next to the secondary entrance, which I realized in the AM does not lock at all, so anybody could walk right in. In-room heater worked well; one of the few updates in my room. Free Wi-fi and lots of channels on TV. I attempted to eat the free breakfast and coffee, but it tasted like the orange paint on the room walls. The only reason it gets 2/5 is the nightly rate was low ($62) and the free Wi-fi allowed me to get some work done. Based on the lack of effort in all aspects of customer service, property maintenance and lack of amenities, I would recommend seeking a better option if you ever HAVE to visit this small town again.

When I checked in I was first given the key to an occupied room. After returning to the front desk I was given another room which smelled like mold or some other strong odor. The sink and shower were stained and in very poor condition. The toilet was difficult to flush and many of the outlets were missing covers and wires were hanging from the ceiling where a lamp used to be. The bed and pillows were very old and hard as a rock so after tossing and turning all night I woke up with a neck and back ache. Also, the breakfast was cold and barely edible. I would not suggest staying here at all, I am just grateful it was only one night on my way home.

I stayed here on my way to the Tetons. There are no elevators so if you have lots of luggage, which we did; not a great place for you. The showers were spacious and great water pressure. It was nice after a long day of travel. Woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the vents even though it was a non-smoking room. The room served its purpose but not sure I would stay again.
