We had an excellent stay at the pines country inn. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a quite and secluded stay. The property was managed beautifully by the owners, the rooms were in clean and excellent condition with all the amenities that one needs and all the major destinations like Mount Rushmore, jewel cave national monument, Devils tower, and black hills national forest are close by this hotel.

This hotel has so much charm. My room had quaint wood features that made me feel I was in my own cabin instead of a hotel room. I would have stayed longer if my business trip had allowed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the wifi worked fine, and the toiletries were just what I needed. The owners were friendly and open to guests' needs.

The Pines Country Inn turned out to be a nice surprise on our road trip. The location is secluded with no road noise, and shaded in front by a row of trees giving it an even more private feel. The room we had was a bit small for three people, but we saw there were bigger ones available. This is definitely a quiet, quaint place to stay and a nice contrast to the standard hotels along the interstate.

After the cabin we had booked was dirty and had mouse droppings (blue bell lodge) we needed a cabin/place with kitchen and everything around Custer was sold out. We were heading to Denver the next day and I found this place on trip advisor. It wasn’t that far and I called and inquired about a place with a kitchen. They had their “suite” available. I wouldn’t call it a suite. You feel like you are in a home with 2 bedrooms and a living area and full kitchen. I read the reviews about it being a flashback. True enough. But this place is so clean! And immaculate! I was very nervous driving in and trying to find it.

It felt like we were visiting Grandmas house...take that as a compliment. But to make it even more special are the owners!

anyway we were only 2 people but loved the kitchen and living room area. The recliners are very comfy. They even had a grill to use which we did!

I was very upset about the issues at Custer but I feel blessed to have found this place and be able to stay here for a night!

This motel is decorated so that you feel more like you are staying in a B&B. They even supply a small shelf of books to read. Where my husband found one so interesting he went and checked it out from our library the minute we got home. We loved sitting at the cafe table and chairs outside our room to enjoy a beverage and snacks after a long drive from Yellowstone. It was fun to watch the deer and wild turkeys munch on dinner in the yard. There is a propane grill which other guests used to grill their dinner. If we get back this way in the next year or so we will stay here.

We stayed here one night on our way to Devil's Tower. The room felt like your bedroom at home rather than a hotel room. There was a nice porch area to sit in outside. Motel is a one story typical motel style building built in an L shape and the only stairs are just a couple up to the room. The area is at the edge of town in a quiet secluded area. Free breakfast in the morning is a little sparse, basically continental with bagels, cereal & fruit.

Back again to this charming little Motel. We came to Newcastle from our suburb home in Denver because we just enjoy this little Western town and motel. It’s like staying in your grandmothers guest room and it could not be more charming. It’s a fraction of the price of any hotel in CO. It’s got a traditional feel of an old Motel but it’s much better. It’s extremely clean, well maintained and comfortable. I hope they never remodel. The floral wallpaper and traditional furnishings and inviting bed make it super sweet. Air conditioner works well and the bed is comfortable. It has nice outdoor seating areas and a nice gravel parking lot. It sounds strange but that is much better than pavement at a motel. Will be back again next year!

This was a somewhat atypical hotel setup with rooms arrayed around and slightly elevated from the parking area. Our room was small but nicely decorated with a personal touch. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast was simple with no cooked dishes but there was a good assortment of things to eat. The breakfast room was essentially nonexistent but it was easy enough to get your food and carry it back to the room or eat at one of the outdoor areas on the property. The staff we dealt with were all helpful and friendly. My only criticism is that check-in was at 4:00 and checkout was at 10:00 as opposed to the more usual 3:00 and 11:00 times at most hotels. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it! My first impression was that the property and the room were really cute. Everything was nicely decorated and it felt more like home than being at a motel.
The A/C worked well. The bed was comfortable with some of the softest sheets I've ever slept on. I appreciated the power strip in the room as it's often difficult to find a place to plug everything in.
I'll definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area!

We spent two nights here while visiting my son & daughter-in-law. My son was acquainted with the previous owners & recommended Pines Country Inn as the place to stay. It's a charming, peaceful spot ~ well maintained & very affordable. The current owner, Ayush, was out of the country while we were there, but that gave us a chance to meet his father, who was holding down the fort. There was a slight mix-up upon our arrival in terms of our room, but he was very sweet & apologetic.

The rooms are on the very small side, bathrooms in particular, but perfectly sufficient. There really isn't much in the way of breakfast offerings, but we appreciated the morning coffee. We plan to be back in the area soon & look forward to another stay here.
