stayed in what they call "the Cabins". Room was dirtier then most abandoned places. Make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo. the floors were disgusting, so make sure to bring shower shoes. The shower head was only 4 feet high, making it very difficult to wash your hair. They originally tried to charge $72 for the room but... More

This is an interesting old hotel. The original part is over 100 years old with beautiful old (dusty) furnishings. Most rooms are tiny with bathrooms down the hall. There are no electrical outlets in rooms or bathrooms. The beds are pretty saggy. I recommend staying in one of the suites; there is one per floor. The second floor suite is... More

This is one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. I really need to write about the hotel and then about the surroundings. The hotel is old and does not have many modern things in the room such as air conditioning or refrigerators. What it does have are rooms with great wallpaper, beautiful old furniture and vintage curtains.... More

If you are looking for a plush, up-to-date, modern hotel modern city hotel, this is not the place. If you need a place to stay while in the middle of nowhere, and you value helpful, accommodating staff and the food that is very good western saloon fare, this is definitely the place. I stayed in the west annex. It was... More

We found the Virginian Hotel to be terribly dirty... found hair in our sheets, so I found a linen closet and changed my own sheets. I did not want to walk on the carpet with my bare feet! Then, to add insult to injury, I got sick on the food and passed out in the bathroom splitting my lip and... More

You've really got to want to go here. It's a huge block building in a town of about 275 souls. We needed a Queen bed and wanted to stay in the hotel. That meant we had to rent the Owen Wister Suite. $94. The hotel has 3 floors up. On the first floor is a bar, hotel lobby, cafe and... More

I stayed one night in the sleepings rooms which are rooms that share a common bathroom and shower. There were so few people there that eve that I pretty much had the floor to myself and chose a room not facing the rail tracks or road (you will hear the trains rumble through anywhere in Medicine Bow). I had a... More

Interesting place to PASS THRU. The room was musty to say the least. The water smelled so much like pvc glue that we were afraid to drink it. The door locks are poor. The locals are in the restaurant /bar all the time. And that Damned train is every hour on the hour all freaking night long! The history is... More

As an avid, "Virginian" watcher, I just had to visit Medicine Bow while driving through Wyoming. The Hotel was a wonderful surprise. It was beautiful, Service was great, and I don't know how they manage it, but, the freshest food we ate on the entire road trip was at the Virginian Hotel. Too Cool. One of the locals was kind...
