Detailed Reviews
This is a lovely place to stay. You are made to feel very welcome and the lodge has a laid back feel. The communal area is warm and comfortable with views through a large picture window.
Our cabin was also comfortable and rustically furnished. The cabins seem a better choice than the lodge rooms as some of these looked a little dark. The hot tub was a bonus but unfortunately the jets didn't work so it was just a hot bath!
We have two small niggles, which have been noted by other reviewers. It is the first time we have had a room cleaning charge added to a reservation and the automatically added gratuity on the whole bill doesn't sit well. The rooms aren't serviced during your stay (although we were quite happy with this) and all meals are also completely self service. This in itself is not a problem - it reflects the staffing at the lodge and is part of its informality. But are these charges justified? It does seem that the rate of these has been reduced, though.
Overall, however, it is a lovely place to stay - very relaxing and perfect for a peaceful escape in beautiful surroundings.

Fantastic service. Very good home style dinners. We only had one breakfast and we’d say average at best. I want to give this a 5 star review but we were blindsided by hidden charges. We had a $250 room with no view but then a $100 cleaning fee!! Then a 20% service charge for serve yourself meals and paper napkins. The folks couldn’t be friendlier and the area is outstanding but since when does a hotel room add $100 to the bill for cleaning?

We had a lovely stay at High Country Lodge and felt right at home! Jim, Emily and Matt were incredibly gracious hosts and we felt well taken care of! Upon our arrival we were spoiled with a delicious steak dinner in the lodge with lovely ambient music and a warm fire; We had no guilt indulging in the delicious homemade pie after dinner. Was a perfect evening! Elk cabin was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. We were greeted with a full made to order breakfast in the morning and enjoyed watching the moose graze the property; Jim gave us helpful tips on places to visit to make our day an enjoyable one. Our favorite place to stay thus far on our mother daughter road trip! Thank you Jim, Emily and Matt! We have already recommend your lodge to our family and friends and look forward to visiting again!

I had the pleasure of staying at Wyoming High Country Lodge for three nights late June. The staff was professional, fun, happy to help in any way. The room was comfortable and very quiet. The lodge is small so the guests interact easily if they choose to. The meals, breakfast and supper were incredibly flavorful and they will also provide a sack lunch if you would like one. The grounds are peaceful, quite lovely with an abundance of birds, small mammals and deer and yes, moose. That was great!
I will be a repeat guest no doubt!
Wyoming High Country Lodge is a fantastic treat especially if you are seeking peace, quiet and nearby hiking, exploring.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Country Lodge. The location is high in the mountains, central to many of the hikes and other activities the park offers. Our room was comfortable and the meals wonderful. Matt, Jim and Emily were great hosts. A highlight was the daily visits by moose who seemed to like hanging out around he lodge grounds most of the day. One morning we counted 7! We highly recommend this place if you want to stay in the mountains.

This is the first place we have stayed for which I hesitate to write a review, because I don't want other people to find it. We stayed in the main lodge, and the room was spacious, well kept and in a mountain decor. I could spend two paragraphs on how amazing the food was - chef quality breakfast and dinner and they packed sandwiches for you. The staff took exceptionally good care of guests. My wife is vegetarian and allergic to dairy. They asked about dietary restrictions in advance and had special entrees for her at dinner. Moose wander up by the lodge daily and elk can be seen across a picturesque meadow. It's popular among ATV riders, but seems to draw a gentle crowd that includes hikers like us.

I can’t say enough good things about this lodge. The previous managers had left unexpectedly and the owners stepped in for the interim until new staff could be established.
This lodge ‘caters’ to its patrons. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included in the price. Homemade!!!
We stayed in a cheery cabin that faced the National Forrest with a creek running close by enough to make you feel serene and introspective. We were warm and comfortable during the winters first tickle of weather. We sat in the lodge in front of a fire and chatted with other guest and hunters.
This is a lodge to go to if you want to: hike, hunt, snowmobile, snow shoe, ski-paragliding, enjoy nature, paint and most importantly GLAMP!
Note* This lodge is at high altitude, so be prepared - 9,000 ft. The weather literally changes quickly!

This is an incredible place! The lodge rooms and cabins were are clean and very comfortable for couples or families. The food was incredible, and the staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I would go back just for the food, best I've had on the road! There are a lot of ATV trails that you could ride for days and never be bored. We also saw a lot of moose and deer just outside the lodge daily. I'd highly recommend for anyone looking to get away.

My husband and I stayed three nights at the Lodge and absolutely loved it! In planning our trip, I can't remember how I found out about the Wyoming High Country Lodge, but am so glad that I did. We visited the last week of August 2021. When we arrived, after a scenic drive from Rapid City, the first thing we saw on the property were moose! The rooms were perfectly rustic, comfortable, with everything necessary for a relaxing stay. The food was excellent and the adventure options were first-rate. One day we rented an ATV and had a blast exploring the area. The next day we hiked to the falls overlook. The Bighorn Mountains are a gorgeous vacation spot and I would highly recommend spending several days at the Lodge. The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating.

The Wyoming High Country Lodge has been our choice of lodges for our Bass Pro Shops/Cabela's CLUB Signature Event with Tracker Offroad for our Offroad Experience in the Bighorn mountains since 2021. The new owners are absolutely amazing to work with and are so extremely kind, thoughtful, and helpful. They went out of their way to assist us when units were broken down or had flat tires to help us get them back to the lodge when they certainly didn't have to. The lodge renovations are wonderful and the food from the couple in the kitchen is absolutely fantastic. For hosting our group of 23 people, they did an amazing all around job and I would recommed them to anyone looking to stay or explore the Bighorn Mountains.

Hi Justin, thanks for checking us out!!!
Our cabins do not have stoves, but our rates include all meals when you stay with us!! If there are any dietary restrictions, we can certainly accommodate them.
We do have small refrigerators and microwaves in the cabins for those late night popcorn cravings.
As I said, three meals a day, and snacks, are included. No one has ever left hungry!!
Thanks again. If you have any other questions feel free to call directly. 307-529-0914
