I'd recommend the Mad Carpenter to anyone staying in Laramie. The home is absolutely beautiful, with old-fashioned woodwork and stenciled ceilings. It's as clean and welcoming as can be. The porch has a relaxing swing that we enjoyed.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. For example, when we took a walk, they left a note on our car to remind us not to forget something we'd left inside.

Our room was on the small side, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything we needed. The bathroom wasn't attached to our bedroom, but that wasn't really an issue.

There was no AC in our room (Blossom), but nights are so cool even in the summer that our room was perfectly comfortable in early August with the open window and ceiling fan.

Breakfast was as good as any I've ever had at a B&B. Fresh waffles, plenty of fruit, a very tasty homemade cobbler and great coffee. It may have been the best breakfast of our 10-day trip. It was nice talking to the owners and our fellow guests over breakfast.

Location is fabulous, within walking distance of both the university and Laramie's quaint downtown district. We walked downtown to go to a bookstore and for ice cream.

The price was more than fair. A bit low, actually, considering all we got for it.

If you're looking for a good B&B in Laramie, this is a simple choice.

Let me preface this by saying that I am very picky when it comes to travel/accommodations. We had to attend a wedding in town and I, knowing how small of a town this is, expected that options would be very limited. What I did NOT expect to find this absolute gem amongst said options. I read the reviews and immediately called to book the dollhouse. We have not stayed at a bed and breakfast before and the laid back booking system was not something we were used to, but don’t be thrown off by this. Danny and Lawrence are easy going, incredibly kind, very organised and thoughtful people: who seemingly with such ease, create a warm, welcoming, and incredibly comfortable stay for their guests. My mother in law stayed in the main house, which was also so beautiful and very comfortable. The dollhouse where we stayed, was exceptional as well - it felt like coming home to your favourite cool grandparents house for the holidays. We were allowed to check in early, there was a big community puzzle in the living room that we happily indulged in. Everything was very clean, crazy comfy beds (and my god, the reclining chair on the doll house? We’re now on the hunt for one ourselves…) luxurious shower and tub with jets, incredible breakfast with even better conversation, and more! I can’t say enough good things about the mad carpenter inn. My husband and I agreed that our stay here was the best part of our 24 hours in Laramie. I cannot say that I hope to come back to Laramie (this is not meant to be rude, zero offence to anyone - just illustrating how incredible TMCI is, as Laramie isn’t our typical weekend getaway…) but I would HAPPILY come just to stay here again. 11/10 would recommend!

We felt totally pampered at The Mad Carpenter Inn. My family stayed a few days here to attend my grandson’s graduation, and Lawrence and Danny, the owners, made us all feel like part of their family.

Beyond the beautiful interior of the home, (and there are unique touches everywhere you look!) each room was complete with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. It seemed as though nothing was forgotten.

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning chats with Lawrence and Danny, as each morning we were presented with a marvelous breakfast with so many choices!

The game room is an awesome bonus to the B&B, and we took advantage of it.

We’ll never forget witnessing the night-blooming Cereus! Hoping we’ll be able to travel back through Laramie again, so we can enjoy another stay here.

The Best Bed and Breakfast, put together lovingly by its owners, Lawrence and Danny and their daughter, all artists extraordinaire. The place is a museum in its own right. The hosts were warm, inviting and friendly and Danny thought of everything I might need even before I thought of it.

I had a short trip to Laramie to meet with some folks at the University of Wyoming. I got online to see what housing options I might have. Along with the standard motels and B&B's, I saw a listing for the Mad Carpenter Inn. It had great reviews and was located just a few blocks from UWyo and the downtown. The place looked interesting, and the rates were very reasonable. I contacted the B&B and booked the small stand-alone cottage on the property, called the Dollhouse. To be brief and to the point, it was great. The hosts were warm and welcoming, the Dollhouse was comfortable. and the breakfasts were cooked to order and delicious. I expect to make more trips to Laramie, and whenever the Mad Carpentar Inn has space; it will be my first choice of a place to stay.

Let me first say that the house (at least the parts I saw) is absolutely beautiful and we were greeted with a smile. It was a late night check in (7 PM) and we were excited to have gotten to a destination for the evening.

Unfortunately, we were refused service because we have a service dog. It had been a long day and I was too exhausted to get into it with them when all I wanted to do was rest. I just wanted to let those who have support animals know this may be one to pass on.

I would invite the owners to visit federal regulations around service animals.

Very cute! Everything you would want in a B&B. The hosts were fabulous and friendly. The beds were comfortable; the breakfast was substantial and delicious. We reserved three rooms. My husband and I were in the Doll House which is separate from the main house. It was comfortable and there were snacks in each of the rooms. There is also a very fun game area with table tennis, darts, etc. Overall a very good experience!

What a treat off the corporate beaten-path. This mom and pop was welcoming, homey and delicious. So much better than staying in an impersonal hotel. You’ll have to call, but it’s so nice to actually talk to someone these days.

The house is beautiful, and the rooms well maintained. The owner renovated it himself. Both he and his wife are gracious, warm and welcoming. the breakfast was delicious. They had coffee ready and waiting with beans they ground themselves.

Our Colorado friends, Mark and Kenya, recommended The Mad Carpenter and we're sure glad they did! We stayed in their lovely "Doll House". Lawrence really is a Mad Carpenter, he did some lovely wood work on the stair case and the ceiling. Lovely place and we sure enjoyed our stay. Danny's breakfast was delicious and filling! The cinnamon rolls and peach cobbler were great desserts!! It was fun talking with them during breakfast. We were so full we retired to the lovely balcony to digest for a while. We highly recommend The Mad Carpenter! Thanks Lawrence and Danny for a great stay!

Hi Dallas, I think you would want to get a B&B closer to your destination. We are in Wyoming and would be glad to meet you if you want to come this way. Danny
