Kari and Brent Kilmer made our stay feel like we were visiting old friends. The entire staff was warm and welcoming and most accommodating. The Riverside suite was spacious, had all the creature comforts of home ( washer/dryer with detergent, coffee maker with coffee, hairdryer, hot tub towels, bug spray) We wanted for nothing. The fresh cookies, souvenir blankets, and water bottles were an added treat. The ranch is sprawling with so many activities to do besides horseback riding: fly fishing, pasture golf, team penning, archery, wagon rides with music, and petting the foals and calves. The horseback riding was spectacular. There were several kinds of rides to suit any level. We were able to ride at our level which was tons of fun. The day we moved cattle from one pasture to another was a highlight. With all the activity we didn't have to worry about eating all the delicious food they provided. It was a great vacation.

Our family just returned from a wonderful week at Vee Bar. We planned this trip with family friends, was the perfect trip for our two families. We stayed in a riverside suite where your front porch overlooks the Little Laramie River. From the minute we arrived we were treated like family. Kari, Brett and everyone who works there goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is having a great experience. The wranglers, Ryder, Will, Bailey, Sapphire, truly are so knowledgeable and beyond flexible to accommodate each guest/family. Doug who leads fly fishing and other activities went out of his way to make sure we had fun and felt included at all times. Total there were only 25 guests which allowed us the ability to interact with most at meals, activities and enjoyed playing pool, games or just chatting with others in the saloon. Food /meals were great and loved how family and staff sat with us often, so helpful to be able to ask questions and learn about their lives and what brought them to Wyoming and to Vee Bar. I truly can’t say enough about our experience, we hope to make it back soon!

I surprised my husband with a trip to the VeeBar last summer, and we had such a great time we booked for this year and we included our adult children with their friends. The staff are all fantastic and fun! We loved our wranglers, Bailey, Will, Jerrica, Courtney and of course Tommy!! Brent and Kari did a great job with the Covid changes, and actually we liked the breakfast being delivered to our cabin as we ate by the river each morning. Chef Dale did an outstanding job by providing delicious meals. The horseback riding was fantastic as ever, great healthy horses, riding the open areas as well as up the the mountain tops to enjoy our lunches. We can’t forget about the wagon ride, team penning, cattle drive, lots of time in the saddle. The evenings were just as much fun, as we listened to Brent sing around the campfire, to the sheep dog demonstration, and of course the roping demonstration. We booked again for next year and including the “kids” again, as they said, “best vacation ever!”

It is apparent from the results that owners Kari and Brent have put considerable thought and care into making a stay at Vee Bar as safe and "normal" as possible in the time of Covid. From individual dance platforms, great idea, to separately packaged meals and masked wranglers for mounting and discounting when closeness is required, I felt little risk was incurred. But equally important, the horseback riding is without a doubt some of the most varied, unrestricted and fun that I have ever experienced at a guest ranch.

We had 3 generations travelling together (ages 6 years to 70+) and there were things for all of us to do. Kari and Brent were incredibly welcoming and they have a great team at Vee Bar Guest Ranch. The kids had never been horseback riding before this week and they had an amazing time. The wranglers were all wonderful with the children and very patient with first time riders (including me). There were plenty of additional activities although most of our group rode horses twice a day. There are great hiking trails and fishing nearby. We highly recommend Vee Bar ranch to anybody looking for an authentic Wyoming experience.

Third time at the Vee Bar and the visits just get better and better. The "Mountain Rides" and the wranglers who lead them are special beyond words. Brent and Kari faced many challenges this year with the "Covid-thing" but put together a memorable experience for their guests, despite the restrictions. Accommodations (meals by Chef Dale; the cabins, the attention to small details) were top notch........couldn't be more pleased with our time at the ranch........and the other guests that we shared the time with were pleasant companions and we shared lots of memories.

I'm so thankful that I chose Vee Bar!

Bailey, Bonnie, Tommy, Will, Sapphire and Ryder are the best wranglers I have encountered on rides. They are attentive, knowledgeable and do everything in their power to make your trip special. Rides vary from flat meadow rides with river crossings to mountain rides. There is also a day spent at an area ranch driving their cattle to new pastures. We also went on a guided fishing adventure in the Medicine Bow National Forrest that I’m sure our guide, Ben, will never forget.

The cabin was clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. The setting couldn't have been more perfect, with the river right outside our front door. The food was excellent and plentiful. We bought snacks prior to arriving that were donated to the wranglers at the end of our stay because we were so full from our meals that we didn’t consume them.

This is NOT your typical vacation, where you sit in your room. You share three meals a day with wranglers and other guests. You have the option of 2 rides a day, area hikes, fishing, river tubing, etc. Nighttime activities include wagon rides, roping demonstrations, live music and the John Wayne Saloon is always open.

We took our four children aged between 7 and 13 to the Vee Bar this summer. When we woke up on our first morning to a moose taking a drink outside our cabin and the most incredible breakfast spread, we knew we were in a very special place.

Brent and the wranglers did the most amazing job of matching us (very inexperienced riders) with our horses and ensuring that we had a week full to the brim of incredible adventures.

We rode each day as a family which meant we shared the experiences of learning to lope, moving cattle, seeing the mustangs, hearing the wranglers amazing stories and seeing the enormous country around the Vee Bar. The wranglers were wonderful at engaging our teenage boy while at the same time making sure that our 7 year old was always smiling and happy with the pace.

The Vee Bar strikes a wonderful balance of being a place where you feel unbelievably relaxed while also packing in endless adventures and new experiences. The kids relished the freedom that they had to explore and float down the river on tubes, fly fish, have a hot tub, try mounted archery or just visit the animals after a day in the saddle.

We ate wonderful food all week (every meal was a treat - sometimes we ate on the top of a mountain, sometimes on the island always delicious) and slept like absolute logs (until the 11 years olds alarm went off so she could go and watch the horses coming in early morning :)

Thank you Brent, Kari and the Vee Bar gang for the most wonderful week. We will be back!!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Vee Bar Ranch last week and had the most amazing vacation. Keri and Brent (proprietors) went above and beyond to make our experience one of a kind despite having to deal with the many COVID challenges that were in place. They, and all of the other staff, are so friendly, so real and made our family feel like we were the only ones on the ranch. We went horseback riding every day, went for a breathtaking hike, wrangled 200+ cattle, had lunch on the top of two mountains, shot clays, played archery, went for a wagon ride while listening to great Blue Grass music, participated in team penning, fly fishing twice, watched a Working Sheep Dog Demonstration, had a campfire listening to Brent play his guitar, played many lawn games, and made so many new friends! We have already booked another week for next June! Thank you Vee Bar!

This was our third vacation here (last two were 2009 and 2011), this time with three grandchildren along, ages 3, 6, and 7, making this especially memorable. Given the current pandemic, and our past memories of vacations here, this seemed like the best choice for our one vacation this year, with the outdoor activities and relatively small venue (only a few other families in the same week). It exceeded our expectations, and the grandkids are insisting we return next year! Our family had two riverside cabins, did the riding each day (including penning and moving 500 head of cattle one day), river tubing, fishing, hiking, etc. It was great to see Tommy George still wrangling, meet the great new staff of wranglers and other guides and workers, and of course seeing Keri and Brent again with their growing family. Vee Bar has our highest recommendation.

A short drive to nearby Centennial for other restaurants. A little longer drive to Saratoga, which has a few more restaurants from which to choose.

We have a 4 year old and a 7 year old in our group. Will there be activities enough for them?
Answer from Veebar
Hello! Sorry that we did not see this question sooner! There is a wide variety of activities for kids of all ages. Activities and entertainment at the ranch are designed with families in mind. Besides exploring the great outdoors and enjoying creative play, kids also go river tubing (young kids with an adult), fishing, riding, hiking, and more. Kids 6 and older can ride on trails on their very own horse. Kids younger than 6 get to ride while being led by a wrangler before and after the rest of the riders go out on their own. If you are interested in utilizing sitter services, we can often arrange for either a staff member or local baby-sitter to help watch kids younger than 6 during the rides. We can assure you that there is never a problem with boredom--usually it is a matter of figuring out how to do everything you want to! And, take other guests' word for it--just read some reviews and many say it is the best vacation they have ever taken!

Do you get to trott and canter (full speed) on the trail rides? I'm an experienced rider.
Answer from Veebar
Hello! I am sorry that somehow we missed your question... a LONG time ago. In any case, yes, we do offer trotting and loping (a western term for 'cantering') during our rides. As for the question of "full speed," we do not allow guests to go as fast as racing, if that answers your question. Riders can cover very vast areas while trotting or loping, though. Rides during the summer are about 4 miles in average length, twice per day. I hope this helps, and we hope to have you as a guest at the Vee Bar someday!
