We were hesitant to stay because it's not a chain motel. But we had such a good stay we stayed again on the way back through town. The room was clean and spacious but not too modern. Don't be put off by the grump demeanor of the night desk lady -- she's good. We got a bar and breakfast voucher and both were excellent. Also, we found a better deal booking through the hotel web site online than going to the desk in person.

For starters, it's not a Best Western anymore. The ladies at the front desk were very nice, things were pretty clean. When I got to my building and room (single woman traveling alone here) the first thing I noticed was the card lock for the door from the exterior into the building did not work. Once in the building, the interior security door was off it's hinges. When I spoke to the nice ladies, they assured me it was a safe neighborhood and when they had a spare $6000 maybe they'd get it fixed. I had to go to another building for ice - that was inconvenient. And my air conditioner worked sporadically - it was hot there in August. The onsite restaurant was good for breakfast, so that was nice. But I wouldn't stay here again primarily because of the lackadaisical attitude towards safety. I carry protection, but I sure as heck don't want to be put in a position where I have to consider using it.

The staff is warm and welcoming! Very accommodating when we checked in. The Summit restaurant and coffee bar are wonderful! The food is delicious and the Italian cream sodas hit the spot! They made our stay great!

Folks that run the inn and the restaurant next door are super nice. Yes, you get a voucher for a free drink and free breakfast if you order off a particular menu, which is what I did and it was good - made to order, not a buffet, which is nice unless you are sort of in a hurry. All that said, for me as a single woman business traveler, it did not really meet my expectations. The first room I had did not have a fridge or a microwave even though I was under the impression from the website that all rooms had these. So the next trip I asked specifically for a room with those amenities and yes there was a small refrigerator and tiny microwave sitting on top. I tried to get on a higher floor so it would be more quiet and more secure but nothing seemed available, though it did not seem full. I had a room by the pool with would have been very noisy but no one used the pool. I agree with the other review that said be very specific about your room and if you don’t like it, ask to be moved. All in all, it felt a bit like a dormitory. If you are not going to be in your room much, then this will probably be fine. At one point during my stay, a large group arrived one night (yes a bit loud) and the next morning, they hit the restaurant and overwhelmed them. I waited to be seated for a while and could see things were not going well so went two block into town and got a very nice, quick breakfast. As I said, folks were kind and the bartender/waitress in the lounge one evening was so very nice to me. So, I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2.

Can't say enough good about the Inn at Lander. Every single person at the hotel was helpful and accommodating. Having a restaurant available morning, noon and night was great. Food was good and priced appropriately. In the restaurant there is a small bar and the hotel gave us free drink cards each day as well as the $8 vouchers for breakfast. The place was clean. The pool and hot tub were nice since it was 90 degrees or more each day. The room was spacious and clean and quiet. The main building has two floors and no elevator but they do have elevators in another building if desired. Also rooms have kitchens and sometimes fireplaces. Be specific when you book a room. There were many places for our group to gather and have fun. (restaurant, bar area, pool, lobby, buffet room) This hotel has a friendly, local flavor without being the standard run-of-the-mill chain hotel. I highly recommend staying here.
