Our group of 3 couples have been coming GVRR for 14 seasons. The food is great, the scenery is unsurpassed and the riding program is great. They pair a horse based on your abilities and he/she is yours for the week. If you don't want to ride all the offered rides you can fly fish on the ranch or on the Snake, hike in Grand Teton National Park, take a day trip to Yellowstone, mellow out with a book or go into Jackson Hole. No shortage of things to do.

We went as a couple in the end-of-summer "adults only" season. The other guests were a mixture of couples, "girls-week-away" and serious fly fishermen. We enjoyed each other so much, and by the end of the week we had a new group of friends. The location is gorgeous, and guests can choose to ride up to 2x per day, fly fish on the 5 miles of private access on the Gros Ventre river, or relax in the well-appointed rustic surroundings. Extremely helpful and friendly wranglers and staff, combined with gourmet meals, made this a wonderful experience.

We just spent a week at Gros Ventre River Ranch and recommend it highly. The location is just beautiful, with the Teton Mountains in full view, right on the Gros Ventre River. Horseback riding is featured, with two riding times and three levels of riding daily, plus the option of a breakfast and a lunch ride during the week. However, feel no pressure. You can ride as much or as little as you wish. You ride right up into the hills with mountain and river views. And the horses have some pep if you want one with pep! They do a good job of matching horse and rider and you have your horse for the week. The food is excellent as well, with dining room and cookout offerings. The cabins and lodges are comfortable and well furnished. It is a great location for families with lots of activities on and off the ranch. The staff are very friendly and helpful,.

I had heard about this ranch over 25 years ago and always wanted to visit. When my family discussed our summer vacation this year, I brought up the Gros Ventre River Ranch and we mutually agreed it looked amazing. Words can't really describe the beauty and tranquility of this remarkable property but in all honestly it is was truly one of the best vacations we have had and we have visited many beautiful places. The staff at the ranch were remarkably friendly, gracious and eager to accommodate. There is no such thing as a bad picture, as every back drop is nature at its' most glorious. We left feeling relaxed and renewed...and maybe a bit sore from all the riding but wouldn't have missed that part of the trip for anything! The horseback riding is incredible!! We were extremely comfortable in our cabin as the accommodations are extremely comfortable. We look forward to visiting again soon and miss it already!

We are so happy you came to the ranch after hearing about it so long ago! Thank you so much for your kind words about our staff. We make every attempt to hire individuals that understand the true meaning of "western hospitality" and take seriously their role in providing a memorable vacation for each and every guest that comes to our ranch. Our staff (including our horses) are vital to our dude ranch and we appreciate them as much as we appreciate you as our guest! We hope to see you and your family back for a visit in the very near future!

This was not my first trip to the ranch. This time I actually managed to get my 2 children and 2 grandchildren together for a truly amazing family vacation. The grandchildren (15 and 17) were not very happy about going to a ranch until they got there and discovered grandmother did not book them into a working ranch - no mucking stalls, etc. My 17 year-old has re-fallen in love with riding and my 15 year-old who had never ridden before has become a solid fan. They are both taking riding lessons now that they are home. My son-in-law loved the fishing and made use of the ponds as often as possible. The rest of us just enjoyed spending time in the Tetons, exploring the area and loved the cook-outs around the fire. The food was wonderful and making smores was the best. We rented two lodges for the 7 of us and were so comfortable, we felt right at home. The staff was great. The cabin was made up every day and they were extremely attentive of our needs and wishes. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and the chef baked a cake to help us celebrate. We could not have asked for a better stay. No one wanted to go home, which was a first for us!!

We are so happy to know you enjoyed your family trip to the ranch! We love hosting extended families because we are able to provide a variety of activities that appeal to different needs and wants. We especially love to hear the teenagers enjoyed themselves. It is daunting for some to hear that there isn't a lot of time on technological devices, but their apprehension soon diminishes once they get on a horse, catch a trout, or play games around the campfire. We hope we have the chance to see ya'll again in the near future!
