Nice comfortable and clean room. Nice kitchenette with refrigerator and great view from balcony. Just outside of Jackson hole. It was a great location to get back to for a midday rest They even provided snacks!!
The Elk Refuge Inn far exceeded my expectations! Considering that they're located directly across from the elk refuge and guarantee amazing views, I wasn't expecting anything else as that alone would have been enough. But not only was the room incredible, not only clean but comfortable and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed including an incredibly thoughtful welcome basket, but the staff were some of the nicest and most helpful people you could ever hope to meet! I will 100% be staying here again if I'm ever back in the area!
Friendly staff and comfortable beds. Good location near Jackson and GTNP. Not much extra room for luggage or sitting. We cooked a couple of meals but sat in bed to eat. Kitchenette is minimally stocked but Mini fridg Does have a real freezer. Would stay again.
My third stay over a 30 year period. It's my only choice when I visit Wyoming. Everything is always as expected, including the view. Staff is very friendly and go at of their way to meet my needs. I will return again.
The room was very clean and comfortable and had all the necessary amenities including microwave, refrigerator, etc. The views were incredible. Easy access to the airport and to downtown Jackson. Great hotel!
We had a three day stay at Elk Refuge Inn in the Jackson area to visit GTNP. The property sits just north of Jackson and across the street from the National Elk Refuge. Just an aside, unless you’re visiting during the winter, don’t expect to see any elk in the refuge - they only visit in winter. Nonetheless, the view from the property is spectacular. Our room was a nice size second floor efficiency unit with an exterior room door in the back of the building and a balcony facing the refuge. We parked our car directly outside our door in the gravel lot. The room was clean and cozy with free snacks waiting for us. I would suggest one stock up on food from the local market - at least for breakfast - as it will eliminate the need to head into Jackson each morning. The town is kind of crowded and pricey - so if you don’t want to wait in line for $22 brie omelettes - might be helpful to have breakfast in your room. The property provides a good launching point to head into the GTNP and the entire Jackson Hole region to the north. You will also appreciate not having to fight traffic back into Jackson at the end of your day. While the Inn sits along the road, the car noise was unobtrusive - faint white noise. Our room had two queen sized beds which were comfortable even though both beds were snug up against the wall making the exit from the side along the wall a tad tricky. We had a nice sized table and chairs in the room suitable for a family to have a meal while watching tv. The young lady who greeted us at check-in was very pleasant and helpful, showing us some good places to eat in Jackson. A different person was at the desk at checkout - she was far less friendly but at that point we didn’t need anything. Still, it’s the last thing one remembers from a stay. Housekeeping was operational and the person performing that job was very friendly. The town of Jackson itself is rather busy and sort of faux western. Lots of art galleries and souvenirs places. The restaurants are varied and good yet expensive and crowded. Overall, the Elk Refuge Inn served our needs very well and highly recommend the property as a safe, clean and quiet stay for a GTNP visit.…
The staff were excellent and there was a snack basket upon arrival to our surprise. Loved the balcony. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a kitchenette. The room was very clean and well designed. Would definitely go back.
This motel was clean and comfortable, with a most friendly staff. Comfortable beds, and a convenient kitchenette. The basket of treats in our room was a very nice touch, and its proximity to the Elk Refuge is a plus, as well.
What a great place. We were upgraded to larger room upon our arrival. What a treat! The room was very spacious, clean, and well supplied with towels and toiletries. The room was made up every day--something that has has all but been abandoned by the larger chain hotels since the pandemic. And there is a complimentary washer and dryer, for which the Inn provided complimentary detergent and dryer sheets. And the basket of complimentary snacks in the room was a great touch. Notice I've used the word "complimentary." One really can't say that about many hotels. The office staff was very pleasant and also very helpful in suggesting places to eat in Jackson. The Inn is very close to Jackson--maybe a 10 minute drive. There have been comments complaining about the noise from the road, since the Inn is right off the highway into town. Since we were there in the summer and had the air conditioning on the room (which was basically white noise), we were not at all bothered by any such noise. My guess is that even if we stayed right in Jackson, we would hear noise from the streets and from the crowds of visitors. In summary, the Elk Refuge Inn is a real gem and highly worth the visit.…
Clean, comfortable, updated, well stocked kitchenette, great location just a few minutes from Jackson. Close to Mormon Row, Museum, Tetons. Nice second floor view room with deck. No elk during September (we knew that) but I’m sure it would be excellent viewing of the refuge in winter. Highway noise (they provide earplugs) but we didn’t care since we were exhausted after full days of adventuring. Welcome basket of snacks was a nice touch.
