Our family of five recently stayed at Rustic Inn Creekside for six nights. It’s important to understand Jackson Hole during August is very busy with tourists and this summer even more so since Americans are not traveling abroad. This makes Jackson Hole a high price point for hotels, dining and tours since demand is high. Rustic Inn Creekside provides a hotel one level below the luxury properties but above your Hampton Inns etc. So here are my thoughts: The Good: -Excellent location right near town but with a nice expansive property with a creek facing the hills -Kids will really enjoy this hotel. You can tube on the creek and there are fire pits for s’mores and a teepee -Housekeeping was consistently professional -Rooms are comfortable and cabins are charming especially if you’re not facing a parking lot. -The guys running sports rentals were great and you can rent bikes and tubes right at hotel The Bad: -For the price point we paid the following was lacking: -Personal friendly reception and greeting with orientation to hotel -No assistance was offered with luggage to rooms -Buffet breakfast has transitioned due to public health protocols to a grab and go bag but it’s just very poorly done with cheap donut or pastry. Egg burrito was a bit better but breakfast overall weak. One day I asked if kitchen could make me hard boiled egg and I was told no. -Hotel charges each night an automatic resort fee of like $36 and there is no value here. -Don’t get fooled by website. Property is right off a busy main road but good access to parks. So ultimately if you stay at this hotel during summer with high prices you will enjoy it but also scratch your head knowing you’re not receiving fair value for the price you paid..

We enjoyed how easy it was to walk a couple blocks to the town square! Our room was beautifully designed & had top quality bedding... the property was spectacular... the creek & natural habitat is beautiful!! We enjoyed that area for a walk or sitting having coffee. We ate dinner both nights at the bistro! We chose not to be in crowds in town. There was good spacing in the outside patio! Food was Very good!!! our waitress that had hurt her foot but was still serving & did a great job with great attention!

This is the coolest hotel! We loved the rooms service and the pool. The fire pits were amazing and the service perfect. We had the most lovely time. And it is by the river and is so very quiet. The bar has amazing drinks and they have many craft cocktails.

Stayed here 3 nights with family. Great location just North of downtown - which has pros and cons depending on which cabin you get. The resort complex is right on the main road making it easy to access National Parks and avoid congestion but it was also extremely noisy. I even asked at check in if it would be loud, after seeing location of our cabin on the map and the front desk clerk said "not at all". I also asked if we could move to a different cabin away from the road and she said they were sold out. Cabin was cute and nicely appointed, grounds and pool were lovely. We enjoyed floating the creek and could put in right on property. Breakfast was disappointing- one day we were lucky to get warm breakfast burritos but the other two mornings we just got a bag of pastries. I would consider staying here again but only if we got a cabin away from the main road. I expected prices to be high during August but it just didn't quite hit the mark.

Look, this is a fine property in a great setting (if right on the main drag of JH). My “cabin” (room) was very comfortable with excellent linens and amenities. But, here’s the rub. My company was charged a “room charge” of $659 and the ridiculous practice of adding a “resort fee” of $51.07 which is just a totally irritating scheme to add to the actual rate for the room. So, a total of $710.07....for one night...... OK, it’s high summer season in JH so they get what they can get. So it’s “COVID” season so there is no served breakfast. It’s a “grab and go” in a paper bag. And you know what they served for their grab and go breakfast for a $710.07? Two croissants, a cinnamon role that was hardly fresh and all were served cold and coffee. Seriously? For over $700 they can’t make some hot breakfast sandwiches, throw in a a yogurt, apple and OJ? Seriously? Absolutely ridiculous. And this is supposedly a 4-Diamond property. I asked what the “resort fee” covered and one of the items included was the grab and go breakfast. What a joke.

Response from Rustic Manager, Other at Rustic Inn Creekside Resort and Spa at Jackson Hole
Responded yesterday
Thank you for recognizing that the Rustic Inn's expansive grounds are indeed great. We are fortunate to be able to offer our guests 12 acres of relaxing green space and the serenity of Flat Creek while staying just 3 blocks from all the fun and conveniences downtown Jackson has to offer. Accommodations in Jackson Hole are sold out every summer (even this crazy one!) and reservations do come at a premium during those months. A room in a basic downtown motel room will set one back $400/night after taxes and resorts start at around $600/night. We can say with confidence that dollar for dollar, the Rustic Inn delivers far more amenities than all other in-town options. We are glad to hear that you found your cabin to be very comfortable and that you enjoyed the little things that make a stay relaxing. Oh how we wish that we could be operating as usual and presenting this year's guests with our crowd-pleasing hot buffet. We decided back in March to voluntarily suspend that amenity, a suspension that was soon mandated. We long ago removed that amenity, replacing it with enhanced protocols put in place to keep our staff and guests healthy and safe. We have experimented with several courtesy alternatives since COVID-19 changed everything. At peak occupancy, the best option we have is the complimentary grab and go bag we are currently offering. It is simple, it is easy to acquire while maintaining physical distance from other guests, and the menu rotates: breakfast burritos, assorted pastries & breakfast sandwiches. You must have only been here for one night and had a breakfast selection that did not suit your taste. We are sorry for your disappointment. I also apologize for the misunderstanding of the resort fee which covers parking, WiFi, in-room bottled water, courtesy car upon availability and continuing reinvestment in the natural habitats supported by our Nature Preserve. I hope you enjoyed your time in Jackson Hole - thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
