The Wort Hotel, nestled in the heart of Jackson, garners praise for its prime location and enchanting Western-themed charm. However, opinions on the value proposition are mixed, with many guests feeling the rates don't quite align with the dated room amenities and varying service quality. While the cleanliness of the hotel receives commendations, some reviewers suggest a need for updates, particularly to the lighting, plumbing, and lobby size, to enhance the overall guest experience.

Spent several nights at the Wort Hotel, which proved to be our favorite home away from home on this trip! As noted, it is centrally located, steps away from just about anything one could want. The staff were gracious, helpful and kind, consistently going ‘above and beyond’ to ensure our comfort. The historic decor is beautifully preserved and maintained, with some truly beautiful artwork, wood carving and heirlooms. Our room and the public spaces were immaculate and meticulously kept. Sleep quality was great—we were on the second floor, well away from the lively bar area. Ample seating, useful outlets, lots of closet space and many little ‘extras’ added to a very comfortable stay. Recommend highly!

The Wort met and often exceeded our expectations. We chose it for its location in the center of Jackson Hole, easy walks to galleries, restaurants, shuttles, and easy access to skiing. It lived up to the hype of such a storied icon with immaculately kept public areas, great service and good food in the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill. Friendly and knowledgeable staff tipped the scales that much further. We will go back.

Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable. There was turn down service and silver dollar chocolates left on our pillows every night. We loved being able to walk downstairs to the Silver Dollar restaurant for breakfast and dinner -- the food was well-priced and very good, and the service was excellent. The location was perfect if you enjoy walking around town after skiing, which we did. I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Yellowstone suddenly closed, lodge reservations cancelled, The Wort to the rescue! Bit of a panic purchase though and I think had we had more time might have found a better value option - possibly. But then Jackson and surrounding area is its own little world and normal pricing does not apply.

The Wort is considered an historic property in the town, the current building being from the 1940's.

We booked a package with breakfast and parking. Our western theme room was comfortable without being plush and had all the amenities without going over board. We had a lightwell room which was a quieter option than being on the main roads or over the bar which had loud music playing each night we were there. Mind you, the room was still noisy as the a/c and plant in the light well was whirring all the time. We did have to keep the blinds down as the rooms opposite were touching distance and you could see all.

Public areas are okay, rather 3 star drab looking, nothing plush again and the Silver Dollar Grill looks like any basic road diner. The Silver Dollar Bar was raucous and a bit rough but clearly the place to be!

The staff here are mostly very friendly and charming. The restaurant staff, reception staff (except one rather brusque man) and house keeping were great to deal with. The concierge/bell man we saw was not helpful though and just stood and watched us struggle with luggage in the rain. He let the side down.

The breakfasts were good. However, the breakfast package is not good value in that for $22 its one dish (be it either just toast or full cooked breakfast) plus a drink. Choosing a la carte is the better option. Evening turndown was a nice traditional ritual, friendly housekeeping, chocolates and a weather forecast, sweet!

The carpark is a little remote from the hotel but good to have available. Thinking back, this property cost as much per night as many a top 5 star London hotel and in comparison falls well short. However, the £/$ rate is poor and Jackson is hyper inflated so its all relative I suppose.

Centrally located and with an old west charm. Quite rooms with large bathroom/dressing area. Dual sinks were nice. Buffet food that was served for our troop was mediocre and lukewarm though breakfast on our own in the resturant was good and served hot. Staff was limited so seating was quite limited at 8 am. Concierge was friendly, but had limited suggestions on a drizzly day. Settled for shopping at the nearby shops. The town is very small so everything is within a ten minute walk. Other cheaper hotels are at least a 15-25 minute walk away from downtown proper. Staying at the Wort eliminated $15-20 taxi fares to the primary tourist shopping areas. Evening entertainment was reported to us by friends as excellent.

Our stay at The Wort Hotel was an overall great experience! We stayed in the Cowgirl Suite which was very spacious with plenty amenities including refrigerator, Kurig with Starbucks coffee, bathrobes, and a humidifier (for those of us who suffer with the dry air and altitude). Our only complaint was having difficulty securing seating at the Silver Dollar Bar. My husband and I were very much looking forward to live music, however hotel guests cannot make reservations at the bar, and it is commonly full with a wait list for seating. My advice for the hotel being as the bar is a main attraction on the website, is to allow hotel guests priority seating via reservations at the bar (reservations can only be made on the grill side).

Though our greeting on arrival was friendly by Sinjin, events after that are most disappointing. Our “luxury room” has one tiny window that faces a narrow utility alley- worst “view” I have ever experienced at any hotel. The expensive filet mignon dinner served via room service was cooked medium rare, not well done as ordered, and my companion could not eat it. Our pre-order breakfast request was never collected and thus never prepared. The disturbance from children playing in all the second floor hallways became intolerable. On the first night I spoke to one of the kids and he said they would quiet down- that was at 10:00pm. Today, at 8:30pm, as we returned from a tiring day, the kids were at it again. I asked them to quiet down. They did not. I called the front desk, they said they could do nothing. Then a couple of the kids began knocking on my room door and disappearing. I spoke to one telling them they were very disrupting and why were they knocking on my door....no reply. Things have quieted down at the moment (9:00pm), but I’m upset and will never stay here again or recommend this property.

This was our last stop on a week long trip to Yellowstone and drive through Grand Tetons, and it was the perfect endings. The hotel is located right in the middle of Jackson so walking distance to everything. This was fantastic long hours of driving. The hotel staff upon arrival were friendly and welcoming. They were also following PPE and social distancing with disposable masks at the front desk for those who may have forgotten theirs and sanitizer. The hotel lobby is inviting and immaculate. Our room was not ready but the bell desk took our bags and we parked, then went for a walk around town. We got a call at 4 pm that our room was ready and returned to find a spacious and immaculately clean two queen bed room with a great bathroom layout separate partitioned from the beds by a wall as well as a comfortable seating area. We had already been advised if we wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant we should make a reservation but we weren’t quite sure what time or what we wanted to eat. When we left a short time later, there was already a line for the hotel restaurant.

Returning later that evening, we did notice that some guests in the restaurant were seated close to other parties, were not eating and did not have masks on. And we did notice that some guests chose not to wear masks or maybe forgot. All the staff were wearing masks at all times. It would have been great if the hotel staff had asked or reminded all guests to wear masks but I also understood why they didn’t as there seemed to be a large contingent of people in this town who were refusing to wear masks and that it was somewhat of an issue. We kept our distance and kept our masks on. We slept very well and wished we were staying another night. I hope to make it back here again soon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and thank you for your recent stay. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time with us and our amenities. These times have brought out many strange and uncharted situations and I am very proud of our team and their commitment to standing orders including all staff are in masks and social distancing all around. This is a very difficult time for our employees and while they are absolutely required as an employee to comply with restrictions, they are not required by any law to enforce the ordinance. While I ask them to engage someone If they are not wearing a mask due to the widely varying response they are getting, some are simply uncomfortable and as their employer, I respect their decision. Again I thank you for your feedback and we hope you will visit us again next time you are in Jackson.

The Wort Hotel is a wonderful hotel. We stayed for two nights and wish we could stay longer. The hotel is situated directly in the center of Jackson Hole, so it was wonderful to be able to walk everywhere. The style of the Hotel is Old Western, which was very special. The bed was so comfortable and the room large. One morning we ordered breakfast in the room which was such a fun experience and delicious – with pancakes and omelette. The hotel had many cool details such as two large moose heads in the common areas. We would love to stay again when we are in Jackson Hole.

We just spent 3 nights at The Wort and were extremely pleased. Our first night was in a junior king suite and it was very spacious with a sitting area and large bathroom. The next two nights we moved to a deluxe king room which was also nice but had the smallest bathroom ever! Not even a place to put your toiletries - but we still loved it! Both rooms had the same amenities-robes, slippers, Kuerig coffee maker and large shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, etc. The only bad thing was the garbage/recycling that woke us at 4:30am twice. Not the Worts fault, but ask for a room “on the quiet side”. I’d definitely stay here again. Location can’t be beat! And it was extremely clean.

Yes they do welcome pets of all sizes, we have seen some huge dogs staying there. It is so nice seeing people able to travel so freely with their pets and still enjoy such amazing accommodation.
