Our motor home coasted to a stop and died right in front of the Higgins Hotel late Saturday afternoon--our good fortune! The owner checked us in and we found our room to be furnished delightfully "shabby chic" with a comfortable king size poster bed covered with a colorful quilt and mounds of pillows. We later ate a delicious dinner in... More

The Higgins hotel is 100 year old " hotel that will remind you going to grandma's house as a kid! Quaint, creaky floors, quilts on the bed, filled with nostalgia! No frills and no thrills but one of the nicest places I have stayed in a while. Step back in time, and you'll enjoy the Higgins.

This was a fun trip with friends. The restaurant in this historic hotel was not only charming but had incredible food. Kudos to the chef! As noted by another reviewer, there is no breakfast which would greatly improve the experience. Even a continental breakfast with coffee in the lobby would be better than nothing . Having said that, there is... More

We were on a road trip holiday staying in off-the-beaten-track towns and trying to find accommodation that is different from the usual big chain bland. Thus, we ended up in Glenrock rather than Casper or Douglas and thus we ended up at the Historic Higgins Hotel. Now, I'm all for history - indeed history is what brought us to this... More

Thank you for staying with us and please know we will always do our best to make our customers happy. We continue to work on renovating our rooms slowly but surely. The market in this area is competitive and our prices are actually below the average price range as most hotels around us are a lot higher than ours. We... More

I'm a big fan of historic hotels and applaud the efforts of the new owners of this hotel, who have brought it back to life. It's a big job and they're working hard at it. Don't be confused if you see "Paisley Shawl" signs outside. It is the Higgins Hotel and as soon as you walk in the front door... More

When you walk in the front door you are taken back to 1916 when the hotel was built by the Higgins family. The rooms were mostly origional with antique furniture and the original woodwork. Two rooms share a bathroom adjoining the room on each side. The resteraunt downstairs has great food that is made fresh. I have heard of a... More

Well, the Higgins Hotel is a great Lodging place and Restaurant-the Paisley Shawl. In Glenrock, Wy outside Casper, just 22 miles, it's perfect place to stay. You will go back in History and at the same time have one of today's wonderful dining experiences. I had Grouper two nights--just fantastic--fresh...in Wyoming and the soup---you could have made a meal of... More

We've loved the Higgins and Paisley Shawl since a visit in 1983, when the Paisley Shawl was at it's absolute height. That was a long time ago, and the Higgins has seen some bad times. We're excited to see what the new owners can do with it. The current status is a little rough. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom... More

a disaster of an "historic" hotel with amateurish service. room furniture was scratched and shabby. The whole interior was dismal. Even the toilet seat was chipped. Compared to the many historic hotels I've frequented, the only commonality is that the Higgins is housed in an old building. At $110 a night, it surely was not cheap. The front desk staff... More

One night stay in clean room, hot water, and comfy bed. Was in town for business. The restaurant and bar had a superb fresh salad and cold drinks. The proprietors couldn't be more friendly. It's perfect or the type of hotel that it is. The quaintitude (is that a word) of the pace was off the charts. Would recommend a... More
