Stopped here on our way up to Yellowstone and booked last second. Liz was very accommodating and her sons even showed us around town. Great family run hotel. The room was clean and had hot water. There's even a fire pit in the back that borders a nice stream. Free s'mores. If I ever happen across Dubois again, this will... More

This is a neat place!! The rooms are a bit small, but the service is outstanding. And they have a fire pit by the river where you can make Smores!!! There's no TV, but everything else is great! It's an old hotel that is being remodeled room by room!!

The good news is the sheets were clean. Everything else is another story. Supposedly in the midst of redoing the rooms. Don't take one unless you know it has actually been redone. Seriously afraid to walk barefoot in the carpet. Also leaking around the toilet yuck.

We were so sad to read that you didn't enjoy your stay with us at the Bear. We work hard to and try to make all our guests feel they are visiting our home. When we turned the water back on and spring cleaned the room it wasn't leaking. You were one of our first guests in that room this... More

We were taking a driving trip around Wyoming when my husband retired, and I wanted to stay in DuBois for one night because my father used to hunt in the area. It was a very interesting little town. The Inn was also very interesting and had a very homey feel to it!

This inn ROCKS in our book! Having shopping on line for a unique place to stay, we opted for The Black Bear Inn for several reasons. First was the name and theme. It was perfect for a couple of retired park rangers. Liz, the owner, "talked" with me on line and answered our questions. She placed us in a room... More

Nice stay -- the family-owner is a lovely lady and the place is comfortable and clean. We were dropping off a camper in Dubois, but lots of the guests were using this as their base camp to explore Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Added bonus = nightly bonfire and s'mores! Overall a nice stay!

We were arriving in Dubois after a long (and fun) day at Yellowstone. We pulled in after 10:00 at night and a friend of Liz's at the office greeted us very warmly. She called Liz, the owner, who appeared instantly with a smile and our key. We asked if there were any stores open, but Dubois closes down at 8:00... More

This is an older motor-hotel that's maintained and cared for. The room had a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. There's also a TV and VCR, which we didn't use, although I expect there are interesting movies available. Bed and pillow comfort were fine. Unfortunately, we missed the smores. I'll mention something that was kind of a "delighter"; traveling across Wyoming... More

This was a great place to stay. The beds in the room were comfortable. My kids enjoyed the bears in the rooms. My wife and I loved having coffee in the room. The smores at night by the river was awesome. The staff were very friendly and had lots of information about things that were worth seeing. Staff sat and... More
