We stopped in for a night at Lava Mountain on the way to the Tetons; cheaper than hotels in Jackson by far. The room was very basic but functional and clean. Staff was helpful and it was convenient for the drive to the park the next day. Attached store and bar were great for last minute purchases, including beer! No breakfast included.

Stayed withy family in the inexpensive grizzly cabins. Cabins are closed to the Tetons and def a great place to stay and save some $$ with lodging outside the park. We commuted to Yellowstone and while we had an awesome time, it made for very long days. Cabins were clean, guest can use coin showers facilities too etc Everything is very clean. Restaurant serves pretty good pizza too! Overall, we would def return for 2 nights and use as a starting point into the area.

This was a convenient motel to the entrance of Yellowstone, but pricey. The room was cozy, quiet, and very attractive, but had no frig, microwave, or coffee maker in the room and coffee in the lobby came at a steep price. The attached bar and restaurant would be useful if you stayed more than 1 night and the convenience store is nice, but prices were high. We were expecting more with the relatively high price we paid for this back-country motel. It's a little hard to recommend, but was better than staying in a teepee.

"+": We have been late for check-in almost by 2 hours. There was an envelope with instructions and the map on the reception door. It was a really good service, we had appreciated it. Rooms were plain but very clean and cozy. The location is rather far from National park (about 1 hour drive to the center of park), but it gives good value for money. "-": The bathroom tap was not in order and during the night we "enjoyed" the sound of dripping water... The restaurant onsite was closed at 7 am so we had to search for food in Grand Teton national park in 50 miles from the lodge
