Daughter and I visited Bitterroot Ranch August 7-14, 2016. She wanted the dude ranch experience, and I wanted a pack trip. Bitterroot offered both opportunities. We did 3 days at the dude ranch exploring the 60,000 acres of trails (woods, streams, hills, volcano formations, plains). Daughter is a former event rider, and I am a fox hunter and distance rider.... More

We went to Bitterroot for one week in August with our two children (4 and 6), and loved it - we will definitely come back! The ranch is in a remote location, in an absolutely beautiful landcape. We went to go riding for a week and improved our skills quite significantly. The program consists of twice-daily trail rides, with optional... More

I had seven glorious, heavenly days at Bitterroot on the Range Riders week. I rode to my heart's content on beautifully trained, spirited, lively, healthy horses. I ate three enormous and delicious meals a day. I did absolutely nothing except sleep, eat, and ride, which is exactly what I wanted. The comfy personal log cabin, astounding views, friendly and social... More

The Bitterroot ranch is a wonderful destination for those who want to have the ultimate riding experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The other guests were easy to get along with and add to the experience. The staff works hard to match daily rides with your own experience level. The food is well prepared and served as a family... This might be a longer one, so bear with me: Accommodations - Everything at Bitterroot is a cabin, and the cabins are scattered through the valley. Some are very close to the main house, some quite a walk away - if you care, best to mention this when you book. The cabins are very clean and ours had a bed... More

I visited Bitterroot back in the spring with 3 girlfriends, all experienced riders. I hadn't thought to write a review until traveling some more this winter, causing me to reminisce about how amazing this place was. The riding: I've been riding on many trips in the past and none quite lived up to the riding we got to do at... More

My husband and I visited the Bitterroot Ranch in September. It was an enjoyable trip. Our cabin was excellent - secluded and alongside a babbling creek and actually had a wood stove for heat. Not all of the cabins have stoves and some are not secluded, so you may want to specifically ask for such things if they matter to... More

This was our third trip to the Bitterroot and we will come back. The location is beautiful, so every day you ride to two new places. The place is really about the riding - you are divided into skill groups early on and spend much of your time with the same people. That makes it easy to make friends (we... More

I visited the Bitterroot ranch in September of 2015 for the Yoga and Riding retreat. I have wanted to go on this trip for over ten years (!) after reading about the ranch in the book 1,000 Place To See Before You Die. IF you are a lover of horses and the outdoors, you will love the Bitteroot. Riding is... More

I came for the fly fishing and it was superb. As nice a Cutthroat fishery as one will find. However I left with many more memories. Of new friends made with fellow visitors from around the world. Food that was plentiful, lovingly prepared and so remarkably fresh and clean. A cabin almost too cool and comfortable to be real. And... More
