Detailed Reviews
My husband and I have been visiting this location for over 40 years, through for owners, a name change, and many wonderful updates. There are outstanding RV and camping sites that border right on the Wind River with excellent bath facilities. Their rooms are spacious with appropriate western decor and very comfortable beds, some with kitchenettes. Motel gas can enjoy a complementary breakfast each morning in a lovely eating area- inside or on a deck- with a view of the mountains! Personnel are extremely friendly and welcoming! There is also an excellent laundry area and other services are offered, such as horseback riding and hiking adventures.

My husband, my 8 year old son and I stayed in the cabins while the grandparents stayed in their RV in the campground area for a week in late August. What blew us away was the staff. They treated us like family. We had a vet emergency and while the grandparents traveled to a 24 hour vet using our only vehicle, the staff made sure my husband, son and I were able to experience a fun outing for the day.
Other things to note that was icing on the cake:
There was a very clean pavilion with picnic tables for large dinners.
A playground with seating nearby so parents can watch the kids play well into sunset. The entrance and grounds are well lit with nice low lights, while the cabins have party lights around the roof eaves giving it a Disney look at night. During Covid, our rooms were not cleaned every day, but a small request for towels or extra shampoos were delivered to our door. The small store onsite is socked with anything you may need and even has a quaint gift shop. My child was thrilled the camp Wifi worked perfectly on his tablet no matter where we were.
I had such an amazing time, I wanted to write this review. To thank Longhorn for a great family vacation.

Loved our stay. River front spot was awesome. Friendly and helpful staff. When snow came in they held a room for us if we wanted to change from a tent trailer to have warmth. They were prompt when answering questions. The bathrooms and shower areas were always stocked and warm (we came in late Fall). Location was beautiful. We only wish their season was open longer for late October.

I hate leaving reviews like this, and hope we just had bad luck. I booked based on other good reviews. This resort is a few miles out of town, and I think if you were RVing, it would be great. Right by the river, has laundry, basic camping needs, nice mature trees, rustic western feel and a little store. We however stayed in the lodge rooms. They have been recently renovated, and could be really neat. The king room was decent, but could use a bit more attention from housekeeping. The walls are very thin and you could hear all the other guests, luckily the AC and bathroom fan drowns that out. The queen room, for lack of another word, was disgusting. There was hair everywhere-on the bed cover, chair cushions, even near the coffee pot. The bed skirt was crooked and you could see piles of hair and dust bunnies under the bed. The flooring camouflaged the filth, but after I reluctantly showered, I used a wash cloth to stand on and scoot my way to our luggage for my flip flops and the rag was covered in hair and dirt. I have no idea the last time these floors were swept and mopped. The baseboards in the bathroom were nasty with grime and hair, there was even a rag left from a previous guest or housekeeping on the shower curtain rod. It was nearly 10 pm before I came across all this, and we left early. I didn't discuss with management because I don't like confrontation, and this should never be an issue to begin with, we just left. Thank God, the actual sheets were hair free after removing the cover, or we would have just left. They need to worry less about the UV lights they are using, and focus on good sanitation, particularly in pet friendly rooms. I hope this was a fluke occasion, but we wouldn't return.

Awesome room with two beds and full kitchen, plenty of hot water and all of the kitchen utensils and cookware you could need to prepare your own meals and save a ton on eating every meal out during multiple night stays. The staff was super-friendly and welcoming and even brought extra coffee pods (single serve) by for us. The bathroom has dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash which beats the heck out of the lame little plastic bottles. There’s a normal hairdryer in a bag on the back of the bathroom door. Nice western decor and the room was clean and had a nice aroma of natural wood. Couldn’t have been happier! Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Beautiful resort on the Wind River in Dubois, Wyoming. We spent two nights in a motel room as a base to explore Grand Teton, NP, 42 miles west. The property is also an RV resort, and some of sites are right on the river. The motel seemed fairly new. Our room was super clean with comfy beds, and decorated in a longhorn motif, with a longhorn skull on the wall and custom made furniture. The room was large with a large bath. The motel units are in a bunkhouse style with front and back wooden porches running the length of the unit. We enjoyed the pergola-covered picnic table at the end of the unit for our meals. There is no breakfast provided, but we drove by some interesting places in Dubois, which is just a short drive from the resort. My only complaint is that the rooms do not seem to be sound-proofed at all, which is not a problem if you have thoughtful neighbors. On our last night, the family next to us was very loud, late into the night and early in the morning. Bring earplugs, but I’m not sure they would’ve helped. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful setting! We arrived at night and were delighted to see fabulous mountain views in the front and back of our lodging the next morning. The staff is diligent with COVID level cleaning – guest rooms and public areas. We needed a few extras nights for our stay, Deb, kept an eye out for changes in their occupancy so we were able to stay the desired length of time. They are dog friendly! Our dog loved the sizable fenced in play area.

Flat, shady sites with full hookups, abundant shade, Wind River frontage (fish if you want), and quiet! No train horns (a rarity in the West). Very fast WiFi connections, propane, clean bathrooms (the whole place was spotless, even the fire rings!); trail rides, laundry, store...they didn’t miss a check box on my list!

We stayed at the Longhorn RV Resort for 2 weeks. We wanted a park that did not feel like a parking lot even if it was a drive to the Tetons and Yellowstone . This park far exceeded our expectations. The RV sites are spread apart under huge Cottonwood trees. Our pull thru site was fairly close to another RV, but many had a lot of space between. The Wind River flows thru the back of the park. The park is beautifully maintained with a large pavilion with a huge fire pit and playground nearby . The front desk staff was friendly and even found me a back in site for one night when I messed up and arrived one day early. There’s a small gift shop and store inside the front office. The laundry is spic and span and had an ADA shower inside. My favorite part…..the 6 completely self contained shower rooms. (Shower, sink, toilet) Each morning they were cleaned to great standards. ( our bathroom shower is cramped) Best thing ..our site #7 was across the driveway from it. The drive to the Tetons is long (not to get to the gate, to get anywhere inside the park) The drive there made up for the distance. We made many trips there. I felt that Yellowstone was too far to be doable more than once. We found plenty of beautiful out of the way lakes and beautiful drives to keep us busy. The Wi-Fi was not reliable, so if you rely on good Wifi, this park might not be for you. The town of Dubois is charming with many choices for eating out, for grocery shopping and even a bowling alley/arcade/bakery/sandwich shop inside. Eat at the Cowboy Cafe. You’ll see why anytime you drive by. Never empty. Did I love this park? More than any other we have ever stayed in.

First the good: the young woman working the front desk was so nice and helpful.
It’s clean.
The bad: lame covid excuse for not providing continental breakfast (it’s “continental” breakfast - no/low touch by nature). Low flow Luke warm showers. Also allowed a group of loud men to kind of take over the strip of rooms we were in by blocking the walkway with a card game so my daughter and I had to navigate our suitcases through the gravel parking area.
Worst: requested 2 adjacent rooms in April ( this is June) which they didn’t accommodate and put one room next to the laundry room where we were kept up all night by folks doing laundry from the motel (yes MOTEL this is not a hotel) and the adjacent rv campground

We paid for our site when we arrived. Our credit card number was used as a confirmation. It's a very nice location.
Hello,
All of our facilities are cleaned daily with Hospital Grade disinfectant products. This includes the Campground Shower House. Antibacterial hand soap is also provided in the shower rooms.
Thanks
Hello,
Yes! We do allow pets. There is a $10 per night pet charge, for additional cleaning.
Thank you,
Yes, Longhorn is very pet friendly. I took 5 dogs with me. Many people set up little fenced areas to give their dogs more room to run as they otherwise have to be leashed. They also have a non-covered kennel area you can keep your dog for a small fee. I opted for a boarding kennel in Dubois and it was atrocious! Better to keep them at Longhorn if you are planning a pet-free day in the national parks.
