I really enjoyed my short stay at Bill Cody Ranch, before entering Yellowstone Park on the east side. The cabin was very cozy and well done. The only disappointment was not having a kitchen. However, they provide an excellent breakfast, and dinner is available for those not wanting to venture out. My cabin was one of several, in a wooded setting.

After researching most of the guest ranches between Yellowstone and Cody, we settled on Bill Cody Ranch. We stayed 3 days (2 nights) in July, and wow, what an amazing experience!! The Jelks family and staff were so friendly and hospitable! Accommodations: beautiful cabins nestled in the foothills of a beautiful valley, the setting was great. I enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the sun peak up over the ridges. The rooms was spotless and super clean, we were pleasantly surprised at this, we thought “rustic cabins” may be a little kitschy, but no, it was nicer then most hotel rooms. Food: their on site restaurant may be small (9 tables), but don’t let that fool you. We didn’t have one bad meal there, the chef was amazing! We had most items on their menu during our stay, and everything was super delicious. Our servers, Aaron and Rachel were both outstanding. Laura the chef was incredible! Mealtime was a definite highlight for us! Activities: our kids didn’t once ask for their electronic gadgets - they were so busy roping, playing with the two dogs (they wanted to take them home at the end) and making new friends. We took the 4 hour horseback ride, our wrangler Emmy was the best! We stopped about 2.75 hours into the ride for a wonderful cookout with incredible views from the mountaintop, Emmy built a fire and grilled burgers. Our horses were safe and easy to handle. The ride was scenic and beautiful. We would highly recommend this ranch, it was the highlight of our vacation!

We were on vacation and passed by at least 15 ranches that showed vacancy along the route from Yellowstone to Cody, Wy for the night. That evening, after reading so many great reviews about this place, we booked the Bill Cody Ranch for the next evening to include a 4 hour trail ride. From booking to checking out I can say that it's hard to find a place where the ENTIRE staff was above and beyond any other place that we've ever stayed at before. Everything was very clean, great food, well taken care of horses, friendly staff and owners. It felt as though we were staying at a relative’s house for the night - yes, it was that comfortable. The entire staff was hard-working and there wasn't a single member of their team that wasn't pulling their weight - One could only imagine that the owners of this ranch had to be wonderful people to have such a hard working staff. Food was excellent (ribs and chicken for dinner and a hearty breakfast) - all cooked to perfection - No sub-par effort here!! Seasoned and cooked perfectly! Cabins were quaint, clean, and had plenty of room to move around. Our 4-hour trail ride was the best we've ever been on. Horses picked for us were perfect, and our guides were engaging and handled each and every person in our group with care and tended to our individual needs. There is absolutely nothing negative that I could say about this place!! It was a very memorable end to our vacation. I promise that if you stay here you won't be disappointed!!!

Pros: - the staff is awesome. Michael, Emmy, Mel, and Zach were extremely knowledgeable of horses and the land and were engaging, friendly, and very competent. Rachel was a wonderful cabin staff/wrangler/ artist. A woman of many talents. Stella, Laura, Adrienne, Ana were the best cabin staff you could ask for. Extremely friendly, hard working, with wonderful attitudes. Makayla was an excellent cook and I enjoyed the food she prepared. All work hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible - The owners are amazing. Mark and Renee really brought the southern hospitality to the ranch with them. John, who has worked there for years, has worked tirelessly dawn to dusk to earn Bill Cody the rank of #1 hotel in Cody, WY. - Location. Love it. Close enough to town for easy access to the rodeo, shopping, and historical museums. It’s also close to Yellowstone national park and the Tetons are easily within a half days drive - Food. Wonderful. Quality food with variety and flavor. The BBQ nights are a special addition - Horseback riding. Some of the absolute best rides and views available here. From on ranch locations, to trailering, the options and views never end. - Australian shepherds. The resident Aussies are the absolute best. Nothing but great things to say about them. - Cabins. The cabins are extremely clean and well taken care of. Believe me. EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Cons - I can truly say there are none. This ranch deserves their spot as the #1 place in Cody. I’ve stayed many places in my travels, but no place can compare to what I experienced here. The Jelks and staff have worked very hard and I would recommend this place to anyone I could. On scale of 1-10, I’d give em a 15.
