Great family week with 2 granddaughters, 2 sons and a son-in-law. Plenty to do for everyone and the staff worked at making sure everything went smoothly, even though many were new. My son and son-in-law booked a week for their families next year, which says a lot.
We researched the 7 D over eight years ago for a grandparent grandsons experience and trip. The first visit was wonderful and it has gotten better every year. The managers Mead and Andrea continue to maintain a family friendly atmosphere while providing something of special interest for everyone. The meals are served family style and the quality and variety is always great. The staff is always friendly and courteous and helpful. Special attention to safety is maintained when riding, hiking and fishing. The fact that this is a family owned and managed operation held and continues to hold special appeal for us. The boys loved the experience at 8 and 10 and seem to have loved it even more at 16 and 18. There is also evening entertainment and activities for all ages.
Three women friends and I went on a pack trip in the Shoshone National Forest the first week of September. It was organized by Spenser Dominick at the 7D Ranch..Memories of the trip - excellent horses, spectacular scenery, deliciously cooked Dutch oven meals eaten around a campfire - will be with us forever.
I have had the privilege of taking 2 custom pack trips led by Spencer Dominick into the wildernesses of Wyoming. Having been on a number of pack trips, I'm not exactly an easy sell. Spencer's trips far exceed anything I've done before, whether on my own or with other outfitters. 7D provides top notch mules and horses for riding and packing, taking great care to match them well to the riders. On this trip, we had 4 of us with a range of experience riding. Spencer, Mark and Ward kept everyone happy and safe while providing wonderful routes, leading us so that both the most experienced and least experienced riders all had a terrific time. The care Spencer takes in developing menus tiered to the group far exceeds expectations. We're kind of a foodie bunch and were not disappointed, enjoying the best of dutch oven campfire cooking constructed with fresh herbs and ingredients. While seemingly effortlessly doing all the work of backcountry packing and camping, these guys are simply a joy to be around - lots of fun, thoughtful, and patient. Such a pleasure. You can't do better than a 7D pack trip, truly. In the midst of COVID, this was the best possible vacation imaginable. Can't wait for our next adventure on a 7D pack trip!…
My teenage grandson Ray and I had high expectations for this horseback adventure led by Spencer Dominick. The reality exceeded those expectations in beauty and grandeur of the mountains; vigorous but safe riding, fishing and hiking activities; training and demeanor of horses and mules; quality and quantity of hearty meals; and in the pure fun of spending 5 days and 4 nights with the wonderful companionship of Spencer and his team. This companionship is what Ray and I missed most after saying adieu to this marvelous experience. Duke
