The Cody Hotel garners appreciation for its prime location near local attractions such as the Cody rodeo, despite being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle. The atmosphere is often described as warm and inviting, with clean and spacious interiors. While the hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, views on value are mixed, with some guests questioning the cost relative to quality.
Nonetheless, the friendly and professional staff are frequently lauded for their excellent service. Accommodations are generally celebrated for their comfort and amenities, although some guests suggest adding microwaves and updating in-room entertainment options.

Detailed Reviews
The Cody Hotel has an old world charm to it. The lounge area is beautiful and the room we got was spacious. It had 2 queen beds. The room had a safe, an ironing board, a desk, a clock with plug ins for your phone cords. The sheets were clean and it smelled clean and it feels good on your skin; not the cheap kind. The coffee was Colombian coffee which my husband loved. You got a lot of clean high end towels. The lotion, soap, shampoo and conditioner were all Neutrogena! I didn’t even know that there’s a Neutrogena shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I enjoyed my shower immensely! The room was $230 before taxes. Yes it is expensive. But it’s in Cody, a tourist town. It’s close to Yellowstone National Park. Normally the reservation includes a full buffet breakfast, but due to the pandemic, it was changed to breakfast sandwiches. My husband and I were very well rested in this hotel. Plus they gave us magazines for tourists and visitors. If you are with your family the hotel can help arrange for activities and tours as well. And the hotel has a huge map of the world where visitors can put a pin on the country where they are from. Loved it!

We travelled to Cody from Yellowstone and after staying at the park in cabins, we sure did need this night of luxury. I knew The Cody was highly rated on TA when I booked it, but I was not prepared for the level of luxury. First of all the location is wonderful- just as you drive in coming from Yellowstone. Second there is ample parking and the lobby is beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were even able to check in early. They gave us a list of restaraunts in Cody. The elevators are even wood panelled. The rooms are large and CLEAN! We had a fridge(hidden tastefully) a microwave and a stainless steel ice bucket and tongs. The bath was very large and up to date and clean! The beds slept great and there are plenty of outlets for your electronics. We were travelling with family so we had three rooms and they were all very clean and nice. There is a laundry on premises and even it was pleasantly surprising. Because of Covid the breakfast room was not open, but the juice/coffe and tea were available self service. For breakfast we were given piping hot breakfast sandwiches that were delicious. As far as I am concerned the Cody is a 5 for sure. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Very nicely decorated hotel near the rodeo arena, but on the edge of town. Didn't have to drive through town to go to Yellowstone, but had to drive into town for dinners. Great service with very helpful crew who gave us good tips for dinners/lunches. Beds were comfortable. Good hot breakfast sandwiches available at the front desk every morning (in the age of COVID, they couldn't open their breakfast buffet, so the sandwiches had to do). They did have complimentary coffee, OJ, Apple Juice and soda available 24/7 in the breakfast area. Great lobby area and our room had a balcony which was nice to sit out on during evening hours. Decent workout room and nice laundry facility on site.
Shower sliding doors looked out of date, but the shower water pressure was fantastic and you could control the temperature easily. Thermostat on the wall to control room temperature also. Refridgerator and microwave oven in room was a nice plus. Room also had a nice sitting area to read, browse the internet or watch TV after a long day at the park. Dog friendly rooms were separate from the other pet free rooms which was nice for anyone who wants either option. The downside was the rooms don't have much of a closet and the bathroom sink was in the room. There was an odor in the room while we were there, I think the hotel is close to the natural hot springs, so there was a sulfer smell in the room at night. After a couple of nights noticing the sulfur odor, we covered the shower drain hole with an empty plactic bag and the ice bucket which seemed to eliminate the odor.

On the plus side, The Cody Hotel has an attractive and well furnished lobby area. The front desk staff were all professional, friendly and personable - special kudo's to "Jim" and "Demity". We appreciate that our dog was welcome and that there is a nice pet area beside the building, furnished with clean up bags and a waste receptacle. On the negative side, the housekeeping staff earned a failing grade. Although our room appeared to have been cleaned, it had not been restocked with the customary coffee/tea/creamer/sweetener and we had to request those items from the front desk. And, while we were trying to take a much needed nap the afternoon of our arrival, housekeeping woke us up by banging their vacuum cleaner against our door multiple times, while vacuuming the hallway. On the second morning, while on my way to pick up breakfast, I discovered a large puddle/spill of unknown liquid in front of the elevators. Because it presented a slip and fall hazard, I immediately reported it to the front desk. And, when it was still there two hours later, I reported it a second time. I was pleased when the front desk clerk took immediate action and opted to leave her station to take care of this potentially dangerous issue. Although a "complimentary hot breakfast" is promised on the web site, the wording has been amended in red letters to read "Temporarily offering minimal bagged breakfast due to COVID-19". We were very disappointed to only be provided with "fast food" breakfast sandwiches, accompanied by a tasteless granola bar. Their excuse that the buffet was not available because of "Covid", seems hypocritical since the juice and coffee dispensers in the breakfast room are openly accessible to guests on a 24 hour basis and are not protected by extra cleaning or other measures to prevent or even limit contamination from multiple users. Furthermore, there were no "complimentary nightly refreshments in our lobby set to the music of a baby grand piano", or a shuttle service, as advertised on the web site. We can't help but wonder if this legally qualifies as a "bait and switch". We feel there should have been a price adjustment for the substantially reduced amenities and low quality breakfast offered. "At $328 for a two night stay (10/16 and 10/17), we feel The Cody Hotel was exorbitantly over priced and didn't earn a favorable indorsement. Let's see if The Cody Hotel has the integrity to offer a price adjustment or even an apology.

Disappointed in the hotel especially for what they charge. Very dingy hotel, old furniture. Lights in the hallway were so dim I assume to hide the dirt. Beds were just OK and the shower was good. Convenient location. Coffee in room was like water and condiment packages were half used and not replaced. Will never stay here again. They really need to clean this place up and get their act together.

We always have coffee brewed downstairs, and we would have been more than happy to run some up to you if you weren't happy with the in room coffee. Thank you for your review.

+1
I would rate this hotel more than five stars if it were possible. The hotel itself is beautiful; lots of families, but quiet enough for couples and even business travelers.
The complimentary breakfast is well done, the eggs are fluffy, and real hot choices are offered every day, as well as waffles.
The pool area is spacious, with rinse off showers, restrooms in the pool area, a nice hot tub, and even a dry sauna. There is a nice workout room, and an easily accessible business area, complete with printer.
The lobby is large, with multiple conversational areas where groups can visit, play games, and just hang out.
The rooms are large and very nice, there are balconies and pet owners are in first floor rooms where they can take pets directly out to the green area behind the hotel. The area was very clean and well maintained.
Everything about this hotel was nice. It is well appointed, elegant, and comfortable. Rooms have dvd players and there is a dvd library downstairs which guests are welcome to use.
As fantastic as the hotel itself is, the people really make the experience great. Every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming, and always looking to help in any way possible.
They offer a shuttle, not just to the airport, but around town. If you don’t have a car, or don’t want to worry about parking, they will take you anywhere in town and return to pick you up. We used the shuttle every night we were there and got great recommendations for things to do and see, and places to eat.

Conveniently located within an hour drive to the Yellowstone East entrance and a few hours drive to the Northeast entrance. Walk out the front door and you get a beautiful view of the mountains. Inside you're welcomed into a warm and cozy lodge lobby where a warm reception by both the fireplace and registration hosts await. There are all the amenities you'd expect and the rooms are well apportioned and modern.
The bathrooms are spacious and the room has plenty of room to move around. You should request a west mountain view if you don't want a view of the shops and strip to the east.
The hotel was offering a bagged hot breakfast option due to the Covid restrictions, and it was very good.
If you are on your way west or spending some time in Cody this is a great place to stay. This is also a very convenient spot if you are coming from the East and visiting Yellowstone.
You should also consider visitig the local Bureau of Land Management offices for an America the Beautiful pass to get into Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and other national parks - it's a great deal! Also highly recommended is the trip to the northeast entrance of Yellowstone via the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway and Beartooth Highway. The drive will take a few hours but is absolutely worth it!

We had a wonderful stay at The Cody! Demedy was incredibly hospitable from booking through the end of our stay. We stayed during the Covid crisis which is a stressful time for everyone, but that didn’t stop the staff at The Cody from trying to make it the best stay possible. They are waiting four days between guests to put someone else in that room, so the king room we requested was unavailable. So rather than put us in a queen room, they upgraded us to a corner, top-floor deluxe king room with a beautiful mountain view. It was clean and the bed was like sleeping in a cloud! I couldn’t recommend it more!

Well! The Hotel is one of the best in Cody and is clean and accommodating. The staff are friendly and always assisting with questions or concerns. BUT!!!! We paid over 400.00 a night ( July 4th of course) and they are now only offering room service if requested. You think paying a premium like this would not only give us cleaning but a bottle of wine. Again they offer it free but you must tell them? Sign on counter while checking in stating that. 2nd The rooms are comfy but you can hear every thing coming from the floor above you. We could hear every time someone above us was walking or moving stuff. Older hotel and sound proofing does not exist here. Would we stay here again. Yes. PS- The cookies are delicious and mostly free of charge.

Hello there,
We do not have a restaurant on site. In July we recommend the Proud Cut, Cassies, or right across the street a great chuck wagon style dinner and show called The Cody Cattle Company.
