We just spent a memorable week with Kenny, Laura, Garrett and their entire staff soaking up ranch life. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family! All the amazing meals are home-cooked and allow families and their new friends the opportunity to slow down, fellowship, and share their adventures of the day. Before dinner, everyone gathers in the saloon to play pool, foosball, board games etc while enjoying hors d'oeuvres. Different entertainment is offered each night from campfire singers to square dancing callers. Each guest is paired with a horse for the week that matches his/her riding ability and all of our teenagers bonded instantly with the wranglers. The views on our rides were breathtaking. Whether you love fly fishing, ax throwing, amazing hikes, reading a book or a trip to Yellowstone and the rodeo....Crossed Sabres has it covered! They even have a photographer who captures your special moments along the way. The cabins are so quiet and cozy and we woke up rested for more fun. There are no tvs or cell service to distract from the majestic beauty of Wyoming. This was truly a vacation of special memories and new-found friends from all over the globe that we will never forget! …
This was one of the best family vacations we've had! Kenny and Laura and all of the staff welcomed us as family as soon as we stepped foot on the property. Riding horses, hiking, fishing, archery, ax throwing, trip to Yellowstone - these were all amazing experiences. We loved our horses and could not get enough of the breathtaking scenery during our trail rides! Our favorite part of each day was sitting down to homecooked meals and sharing our stories with the other guests and the staff. Because the ranch is tucked high up in the mountains there is absolutely no wifi, which was a beautiful gift for our family. Our 15 year old forgot all about her phone and ran out of the cabin each morning ready to ride the trails! Our cabin was comfortable and cozy and all the staff are welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Thank you Kenny and Laura - you go above and beyond to make Crossed Sabres Ranch an exceptional experience!…
We had an amazing vacation at the Crossed Sabres. They offer many activities for the guest to do. Never a boring moment. We choose to just horseback ride, fly fish, hike and just relax at the lodge and enjoy the wonderful views. The Long’s made you feel like part of their family. The staff and wranglers made the stay really great. The cabins were very comfortable. The food was very good and plenty off it. The square dance was a hoot! We met some wonderful people that week. If you want a awesome vacation this is the place to go. The Long Family, the staff, the wranglers, fishing guides , the horses, the views and all the other activities made this a great week.
From the moment we were picked up at the airport until the time that we departed, everything was perfect. Our stay at Cross Sabres was wonderful. The Long Family made us feel like part of the family. We were able to stay as busy as we wanted or could relax and just enjoy the amazing setting of the ranch and the views. We had the most delicious food the entire week made fresh each day. The trails that we rode had gorgeous views. Whether you are a seasoned rider or a beginner you will be fine. The wranglers and the horses make riding so enjoyable. Skeet shooting, rafting, a trip to a rodeo, a day trip to Yellowstone, and hiking are some of the activities available. The cabins are so comfortable and the entire ranch has all that you could need. They have an amazing staff as well. It was a very memorable vacation.…
We just had one of our best vacations ever. If you like fishing and horseback riding this is a great place! A horse is assigned to you for the week so you really get to know them. Fishing guides are excellent as is the equipment. Cabins are very comfortable, the food is excellent and plentiful, and you truly feel like part of their family. Kenny and Laura Long have put together an excellent week of activities including Yellowstone, rodeo, white water rafting, and square dancing. Views were spectacular and we saw some interesting wildlife -- even had a bison come through camp our last day. We came as strangers and left with a bunch of new friends and had a blast. They even have a photographer helping you capture your vacation (fondly referred to as our paparazzi.) Staff was awesome. Highly recommend.…
I went on a solo vacation to Crossed Sabres Ranch for the adult week of 2021. I made friends with the other guests and always felt included in every activity. There are lots of different activities to do including fly fishing, skeet shooting, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and more! I was never bored. The meals were out of this world. The food is all made from scratch and absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and regularly interact with the guests. I learned a lot about the staff during our dinners and trips in the van to Yellowstone and the rodeo. The cabins are rustic but homey. The horses are well mannered. Many of the trails lead to spectacular views of the mountains, valleys, and river. Kenny and Laura have absolutely nailed the ultimate vacation. I felt like family by the end of the trip. I cannot say enough about how awesome this ranch is. It’s because of Kenny, Laura, Justin, and the rest of the staff’s dedication to ensuring that each and every guest is happy and having the time of their life. I booked my spot for 2023 before I left!…
This is a totally different type of vacation. No internet, no TV - just enjoying this beautiful country and the hospitality of the Long family and their wranglers. For four years we have been trying to get out to experience the Crossed Sabers Experience and I must say that it was more fun than high school Senior Prom night! We met others and got to know them and their families which was just icing on the cake. We are taking our entire family to Crossed Sabers next year. Carol and Jerry
Our weeklong adventure far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived on Sunday until we departed on Saturday our hours were packed with both majestic mountain views and amazing western activities that at the end of each day left us exhausted yet exhilarated. The cabin the two of us enjoyed was clean and cozy and afforded us a place to recharge at the end of each day. Although we are novices our main focus was horseback riding. The horses we each rode for the week were matched to our abilities by the head wrangler Justin and each wrangler that led our trail rides were focused on our enjoyment and safety. In fact each member of the Crossed Sabres staff from ownership to kitchen staff, cookout cooks, housekeeping, fishing guides and wranglers were truly committed to making sure our experience was exceptional and they succeeded! In summary this ranch experience was a unique way for the two of us to relax and still stay very active. The ranch is beautifully located in the mountains. Expect to do lots of walking up and down slight elevations - it is not for the mobility challenged. Three delicious meals are served each day in the beautiful main house or in the cookout area. In addition to horseback riding we learned to fly fish in the Shoshone River, thanks to our excellent fishing guide. All fishing gear was first class and supplied for our use. We also took in skeet shooting and river rafting. All these activities are included with no added costs. We met so many wonderful other guests and their children during our week stay. I can recommend this place for a couple (as we are) or for a multi generational family. In fact, I believe a single person could equally enjoy every aspect of the scenery and majesty of this dude ranch located on the edge of Yellowstone National Park.…
Magnificent: that’s our definition of the beauty that surrounded Crossed Sabres Ranch. The environs and majesty of our vacation destination was in everyway the creation that God invited us to see and enjoy together as a family. Fourteen (ages 5-81) of us traveled to Wyoming to experience a get-a-way of a lifetime. And that is exactly what happened! From the moment of arrival, we were personally escorted to our cabin and acquainted with the itinerary. After dinner an in-depth orientation was presented. The week was to be filled with activities that would not only wet the appetite of the adults, but children as well. One only needs to look on the ranch’s website to see what was available...everything from horseback riding to playing chess. But more importantly, Kenny and Laura Long catered to our every whim. Our ordinary lives became extraordinary! We were treated like royalty as the Long Family and their staff waited on us like “kings” and “queens”. From the youngest to the oldest everyone felt attended to, everyone was important, and everyone’s desires were met. The meals were superb, the beds comfortable, and the saloon was packed with games and comfortable chairs in which we plopped after a wonderfully exhausting day. We came with our cowboy hats, boots, bandanas, and “big ideas” about what would happen during our stay at the ranch. Needless to say, not a single one of us could begin to imagine what a wonderful trip this would turn out to be. Joy and gladness exuded from each of us, every day. We were thrilled and delighted with the way we easily interacted with the rest of the guests. There was magic in how the Longs brought us all together. The reviews of other guests are right on the mark. Every detail, activity, and interaction with the staff was outstanding. The only time laughter turned to tears was when it was time to leave. However, lasting memories will be with us forever. Thank you to all who made our trip turn out to be a wonderful experience. God bless you.…
My family and I enjoyed our time at Crossed Sabres Ranch. It was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to enjoy all of the activities we wanted to experience such as horseback riding, fishing, hiking and white water rafting. We even got to go to the Rodeo. The food was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better staff. We felt so welcomed and well taken care of the entire week!
