Detailed Reviews
This is an older, basic motel. The staff was very friendly and kind, the room was clean and smelled fresh, the bed was comfortable. If you're looking for something plush and modern, you'll need to go down the street and pay twice the price. If you want a clean bed and a good night's sleep, the National 9 will be just fine. They even have a great variety of packaged items for breakfast, a waffle maker and good coffee. We're rested and refreshed and ready to hop right back on I25!

The room was comfortable and worth the charge. Breakfast was good and their was plenty for someone to eat. The only negative comment I would say is that the lobby could us an update. I will say here again and the price is reasonable.

If you havent noticed, there arent many hotels in Casper, or there's just a lot going on in this city. It was late and I just needed a room for the night, passing through on a motorcycle trip. There were a few rooms in the area but they were outrageously priced. It took me a while to get to this review so I don't remember the price but it was much better than all the big chain hotels in the area. Clean, friendly, not much of a breakfast but that's ok because it was close to a few other places to eat. The room was a bit on the small side, but very clean and everything worked. I would stay there again.

Driving my son back from school in Seattle means long days of driving. We needed an inexpensive place to rest our heads as we arrived late and left early. This older hotel was perfect. The lobby does smell like smoke, but don’t let that deter you. The staff was extremely friendly. The room had no odor at all. It was comfortable and clean. A table allowed us to sit and eat somewhere other than our car during the pandemic. The wi-fi was great and a flat screen tv provided numerous channels. Speaking of the pandemic, most hotels have suspended breakfast. However, this hotel provided sealed food behind the counter and a very friendly staff person to hand it out. I highly recommend.

When checking in told room reserved was still dirty ( after 10 pm). Clerk said she had 1 room left and it was a smoking pet friendly room like we had reserved but it was a queen room and not the double bed room we had reserved. When getting to the room it was a double not a queen but whatever. Upon checking out we are told we smoked In a non smoking room and then charged us $100 for doing so. We would suggest sleeping in your car before you stay at this motel.

After having no luck finding another place to stay, I reserved a room at the Showboat. I'd driven by several time and was concerned that the interior was as rundown as the exterior. My night's stay confirmed my concerns. The lobby area was an unwelcoming combination of hot, foul smelling air and badly worn carpet and furniture. The room I was given (119) wasn't any better. A stench reminiscent of a blend of mold, dirt (as in soil) and body odor filled the dank room, which had a non-functioning microwave and air conditioner. I asked for another room and was given one on the second floor (215). It also had a peculiar smell but had a working air conditioner, microwave and refrigerator. Neither of the rooms were very clean, both having smears and stains on the furniture and carpet, as well in the bathrooms. In addition, the noise level was quite high and room walls failed to screen out sounds (including sneezing and expelling gas) from adjacent lodgings. Several people wandered up and down the second floor hall smoking cigarettes and arguing with each other. At 1:30 AM, I was awoken by a commotion in the hall. When I looked out the door peephole, I was treated to the sight of a man strolling down the hall with his underwear (tighty whities) slung below his buttocks smoking a cigarette and being yelled at by his female companion. After the commotion, I decided to get a drink of water before going back to bed, only to make a revolting discovery. I pulled apart two wrapped plastic cups and watched small dead insects fall from where they had been wedged between them. After that, seeing food from the "continental breakfast" (containers of cereal on a folding card table in the lobby) strewn in the second floor hallway and all over the staircase was an anti-climax. The Showboat Motel, without a doubt, has some of the worst accommodations in which I've ever had the misfortune of staying.

The reservation I made was for a 2 queen size bed standard room and was booked for a single bed. I had my 25-year-old son with me and so we returned to the front desk and the clerk was checking in an oil field worker "representative" of a group who were sitting in the parking lot drinking (right outside the office door) when we first drove up. From the sounds of it she was about to book the last 2-bed room so I interrupted as I had already paid after making a reservation through hotels(-). I told her that if she is giving away the last 2 -bed room I needed it and that it was what I had reserved and paid for but was glad to wait. I was soon after solicited for sex by that man, right in front of my son and the clerk - who did nothing.
Then when we finally got a room we had to walk completely to the end of a very dark room to find a light that would turn on. Out of 4 lights, 2 worked. Neither of the bedside lamps worked so in order to have light there I moved a desk out from the wall a short distance and found a cluster of wires that would be an electrician's nightmare - there was a 9-outlet outlet extender plugged into the regular outlet (not secured as it was wobbly & the light I was going to unplug, the tV, and the refrig that was also plugged into the same outlet, all were flickering off and on while I was moving the desk). I first tried taking the light bulb out of that lamp and put it in the bedside unit, and it still did not work.
Strike #1 - 2 electrical units not working. (The light switch inside the room was taped in an "on" position with a note to keep it in the 'on" position.). Maid should have reported it.
Strike #2 - I do NOT appreciate being solicited in the lobby of a motel while I am obviously checking in - or at any other time - during that visit. And the clerk HAD to know they were out there drinking as the man inside was very drunk.
Strike #3 - A 9-outlet plug-in, unsecured and wobbly, with everything in the room that was electrical and operated except one light and the bathroom light, plugged into it. (I hope the picture I post comes out - I had already removed the lamp from the cluster.
Strike #4 - I needed an elevator (disability & handling luggage - thankfully son was with me to take care of that) and I was told there was no elevator. (And no bars in the bathroom for safety, and the "grip strips" on the bottom of the tub were quite worn out.
Strike #5 - There was not so much as a clock in the room, let alone an alarm clock. And I was unable to get hold of the clerk to ask for a wake-up call before falling asleep.
DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED and intend to request my money back.

Stayed here on October 31 and left a detailed and honest account of this motel. Both times it was removed...perhaps too honest? There was broken glass and dog crap right out side the side entrance. Bed frames were little more than warped and water damaged wooden pedestals, carpet was torn and frayed around walls, curtains didn't cover windows and were not completely hanging evenly. Charged my credit card 25 dollars more than what the room was reserved for...although they did correct this when asked about it. It did accept pets and that was the honestly the only positive. I wondered how this motel could have so many positive ratings and felt miss-led, however, after my bad review was removed, I can understand now why it has more positive than negative ratings. This was not an acceptable experience and when telling colleagues about the motel, I was asked if there was a similar motel in our hometown that might be comparable and honestly, there is nothing that compares to how bad it is.

Yes that's right, ticks!!!!
I booked this online, and didn't see what it was like. The woman in the office barely looked at us and was blatantly rude!
It stunk like smoke must and highly concentrated disenfectant; so much so that me and my husband had to leave and get another room on the other side of the motel.
The room was musty and not worth the $$ we paid.
The next morning I woke up went to the bathroom and was putting my contacts in when I saw some black thing crawling through my hair.
It was a tick! Can you actually believe it?
The place should be closed and handled, luckily my husband managed to get the thing out before it bit me.
Last thing people want is to get lymes disease from a unsanitary motel like this one we unfortunately stayed in!!!
Do not go to this place, it's not worth your money!
