This is not your typical hotel today, but takes you back to another era. We are so glad we were able to stay here! However, if you want everything up to date--modernized--this is not the place for you; It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. As an added plus, we were there the night there was live entertainment in the saloon that is a part of the hotel, adding to the 1880s.atmosphere.

Oh my goodness, this is the place you want to stay so stop looking at other places! My esteemed spouse and I recently spent one night there and wish we could have stayed longer. First, this hotel has been beautifully restored, is filled with great antiques and has so much history. The pictures of the people who have stayed here..the"museum" upstairs...its location in town on a small creek make it charming. But of course, you want a good night's sleep! We stayed in the Hemingway room..quiet, overlooking the creek, comfortable. You know, you could stay at a chain hotel in almost any city or town in America. But why would you do that in Buffalo, Wyoming? This charming hotel is waiting for you!!

Don't expect another cookie cutter renovation. This is a wonderful hotel that retains ALL of its age and history. Every room is unique, each tells a story and each is lovely. Take time to check them online before booking - they are so much fun. The entire place is full on antiques - the lobby, the hallways, the rooms, the saloon are all chock full of original items still in use. The few negative reviews I've seen are people looking for Holiday Inn. This isn't it! Embrace the history, explore the hallways, take your time here and enjoy. Great staff, super friendly. This place is a treasure.

We read the hype and bought it. A big mistake. We were stuffed in a very weird room where you had to go through another bedroom to get to our room or go outside around the hotel. Bed was very saggy and just said old and worn out. Toilet was clogged when we arrived and I had to get a plunger and do.it myself, no help except desk at 10pm. Both bar and restaurant were closed. Only saving grace from a 1 rating was the breakfast place in the morning. Do not waste you time.

Really loved our stay but as a visitor please understand that this is a historic hotel and does not have ac or heat that is centralized. Also there is a bar next door which we didn’t hear a whole lot of anyway. The staff were do-able, maybe short handed when we got there but nothing out of the way amazing. The lady the next morning did make up for it as she was truly interested in our son and his enjoyment of the hotel. We stayed in the Outlaw suite and it was very well priced for the experience.
