We rented the log cabin and comfortably slept 2 adults in the master and our 3 kids fit perfect in the loft. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and a gas grill as well. We did a half day horse ride which was perfect if you don't have a tons of experience. We also hiked to blue berry lake which was well worth the effort! The staff at BLL was excellent and was always there to help if you needed anything!

Thank you for your complimentary review of our Lodge. Yes, since we own all our horses and know them so well just like pets, we can match your riding ability with each horse. Our first priority after our guests is loving and caring for our horses. The Log Cabin and our Boulder Lake Lodge was recently renovated so we are happy to hear you enjoyed your time there.

We were traveling from Bozeman to Salt Lake City and stopped for the night. It's a great place. We were getting in very late and called ahead to let them know. We were told the front door would be unlocked and the key to our room would be just inside. Everything was as we were told and we had a great night's sleep. The property is large and has trails to walk along, and horses to ride and it's also nice to sit on the porch and look at the beautiful view. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay a second night.

On the downside, the rooms are very small, the shower is tiny, and TV and internet reception are often spotty to non-existent. However, you are probably not there to hang out on your room and the stunning scenery, the dogs, the horses, and the incredible staff more than make up for the downsides. We were there for two nights, with cold and rainy weather pretty much the entire time. Probably because of the weather, we were the only lodgers there. Carlie and the staff here are more like a family, and they take you in as if you were one of their own. We ate with them and hung out with them in the lovely great room/restaurant in the evenings, chatting, playing games and being charmed by the adorable baby Sage. The chef Christine is amazing. Our meals there were probably the best we had during our entire two week road trip. Anessa and Ashley took us on a really great ride. Despite the cold rain, they were cheerful, enthusiastic, attentive and fun. We returned to the lodge to a nice warm, roaring fire built just for us. The horses are well loved and cared for and it is obvious their well-being is a top priority. There are a few board games and a TV in the great room, and a few yard games outside as well. Restaurants and groceries are about 40 minutes away and the restaurant there is closed on Mondays, only open for brunch on Sundays, and never open for breakfast, so plan accordingly. They do have some continental breakfast items available and there is a shared microwave and small fridge. I would also like to add that we looked at several other horse lodges/ranches before we came across Boulder Lake Lodge and the lodging prices here are so much more reasonable than anything else we came across. I am also pretty confident that you would not be able to find a better experience than you would find here.…

Thank you for your pleasant review experience in our Boulder Lake Lodge .And yes, our horses are very well cared for and much loved. We own our own horses and do not lease them as other Lodges do. We can match your riding experience with our individual horses and each horse has been with us for years and could probably take you up into the Wind River Mountain Range on their own...they know the trails so well. Our mule, Jethro, has been at the Lodge for over 35 years and has just been our "Mascot" for the past 15 years. He sort of has "rule of the roost". We have recently made major renovations in the Lodge and the Log Cabin in the Aspen Grove. Come back to see us!

My father-n-law & I just got back from our trip to Boulder Lake Lodge. We planned a pack out trip for 3 days up in the mountains with 2 nights at the lodge. Carlie & her crew did a fantastic job making sure our stay exceeded our expectations. We experienced a few set-backs that the wilderness provided us & Carlie made sure we were safe & taken care of. Elena made sure we were fed w/ great meals & never an empty glass. Our guide, Shelby, did an outstanding job in making our experience one to remember! The Lodge was beautiful, clean, and cozy. If you’re looking for a more personalized experience, great service, & memories to last a lifetime, don’t look past Boulder Lake Lodge & Carlie! Sincere thank you to Carlie, Shelby, & BLL for providing us a place & experience we’ll never forget. See you all again next year!…

Beautiful setting near a river and mountains, on a ranch. Great hiking and horse riding right out the door. Far from the crowds. Very friendly workers. Lots of horse rides available. Fishing. An overall big plus for us. But not perfect: information about meals and rides was not immediately available; people in-the-know were not always immediately available; WiFi was very weak; rooms are a bit small and have no refrigerator; if you are trying to sleep close to the main dining room/bar/fireplace, it can be a bit noisy until 11 or so; restaurants and newspapers are 30 minutes away.

This place has a lot of heart. The property butts directly up against the limitless Bridger Wilderness and the continental divide, certainly one of the most beautiful and least-changed wild areas in the lower 48. Two years ago the management was taken over by two energetic young women who are busy remaking the property and client base. Their passion for horses and the rocky mountain horse culture is infectious. Don’t expect an institutional hotel room. This is one of the early dude ranches with a lot of personality, and color, mostly unimproved from mid century. But this is more than compensated by the authenticity and location. Part of the experience is the raw energy and ambition of the competent young people who are now in charge. Go if you want to experience the American west in the way it has been lived.…

Aug. 4 Kodi hauled my gear and that of 2 friends in to back pack camp. She was spot on in every way. Excellent drop point, hung our food (bear country) beautifully explained how to find. Both ranch managers there at present, Kodi and Carlie are as delightful and helpful as you could ever want! Tomorrow I head back over for a 6 day horse pack trip with Kodi. So excited to spend this time with a terrific young woman.... Says this mature woman. Apparently the lodge had some earlier problems but not with these 2 competent caretakers. Did I say the lodge is super nice with lovely rustic atmosphere in a gorgeous location?

Long time friends and myself have been attempting to plan a trip in late September. I emailed Boulder Lake after attempting to call several times with no avail. It took them days to respond and the response was cold and didn't give information. They also use an archaic system of emailing you a form to fill out for your stay without offering to help or give suggestions. I contacted a lodge down the road and they went above and beyond to help plan our trip immediately. They lost out on 6 rooms and 4 days worth of activities. Might be time to check your staff and update your systems! Maybe even answer the phones!

The staff and management couldn't be more accommodating, caring and easy to be with. We went on a 4hr. trail ride, that required safety, and precautions, which were all addressed. Tom lead the way and was excellent! We returned and had one of the best meals ever, by a staff that couldn't do enough for us. The lodge is so neat, rustic and charming. You'll love this place!!
