Detailed Reviews
On the downside, the rooms are very small, the shower is tiny, and TV and internet reception are often spotty to non-existent. However, you are probably not there to hang out on your room and the stunning scenery, the dogs, the horses, and the incredible staff more than make up for the downsides.
We were there for two nights, with cold and rainy weather pretty much the entire time. Probably because of the weather, we were the only lodgers there. Carlie and the staff here are more like a family, and they take you in as if you were one of their own. We ate with them and hung out with them in the lovely great room/restaurant in the evenings, chatting, playing games and being charmed by the adorable baby Sage. The chef Christine is amazing. Our meals there were probably the best we had during our entire two week road trip.
Anessa and Ashley took us on a really great ride. Despite the cold rain, they were cheerful, enthusiastic, attentive and fun. We returned to the lodge to a nice warm, roaring fire built just for us. The horses are well loved and cared for and it is obvious their well-being is a top priority. There are a few board games and a TV in the great room, and a few yard games outside as well.
Restaurants and groceries are about 40 minutes away and the restaurant there is closed on Mondays, only open for brunch on Sundays, and never open for breakfast, so plan accordingly. They do have some continental breakfast items available and there is a shared microwave and small fridge.
I would also like to add that we looked at several other horse lodges/ranches before we came across Boulder Lake Lodge and the lodging prices here are so much more reasonable than anything else we came across. I am also pretty confident that you would not be able to find a better experience than you would find here.

Thank you for your pleasant review experience in our Boulder Lake Lodge .And yes, our horses are very well cared for and much loved. We own our own horses and do not lease them as other Lodges do. We can match your riding experience with our individual horses and each horse has been with us for years and could probably take you up into the Wind River Mountain Range on their own...they know the trails so well. Our mule, Jethro, has been at the Lodge for over 35 years and has just been our "Mascot" for the past 15 years. He sort of has "rule of the roost". We have recently made major renovations in the Lodge and the Log Cabin in the Aspen Grove. Come back to see us!

Beautiful setting near a river and mountains, on a ranch. Great hiking and horse riding right out the door. Far from the crowds. Very friendly workers. Lots of horse rides available. Fishing. An overall big plus for us. But not perfect: information about meals and rides was not immediately available; people in-the-know were not always immediately available; WiFi was very weak; rooms are a bit small and have no refrigerator; if you are trying to sleep close to the main dining room/bar/fireplace, it can be a bit noisy until 11 or so; restaurants and newspapers are 30 minutes away.

We were traveling from Bozeman to Salt Lake City and stopped for the night. It's a great place. We were getting in very late and called ahead to let them know. We were told the front door would be unlocked and the key to our room would be just inside. Everything was as we were told and we had a great night's sleep. The property is large and has trails to walk along, and horses to ride and it's also nice to sit on the porch and look at the beautiful view. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay a second night.

We rented the log cabin and comfortably slept 2 adults in the master and our 3 kids fit perfect in the loft. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and a gas grill as well. We did a half day horse ride which was perfect if you don't have a tons of experience. We also hiked to blue berry lake which was well worth the effort! The staff at BLL was excellent and was always there to help if you needed anything!

Thank you for your complimentary review of our Lodge. Yes, since we own all our horses and know them so well just like pets, we can match your riding ability with each horse. Our first priority after our guests is loving and caring for our horses. The Log Cabin and our Boulder Lake Lodge was recently renovated so we are happy to hear you enjoyed your time there.

My father-n-law & I just got back from our trip to Boulder Lake Lodge. We planned a pack out trip for 3 days up in the mountains with 2 nights at the lodge. Carlie & her crew did a fantastic job making sure our stay exceeded our expectations. We experienced a few set-backs that the wilderness provided us & Carlie made sure we were safe & taken care of. Elena made sure we were fed w/ great meals & never an empty glass. Our guide, Shelby, did an outstanding job in making our experience one to remember!
The Lodge was beautiful, clean, and cozy. If you’re looking for a more personalized experience, great service, & memories to last a lifetime, don’t look past Boulder Lake Lodge & Carlie!
Sincere thank you to Carlie, Shelby, & BLL for providing us a place & experience we’ll never forget. See you all again next year!

Thank you, Benjamin, for letting us know you enjoyed your recent visit to our Boulder Lake Lodge. And yes, our energetic managers love their Lodge work and have a great compassion for our Lodge owned (not leased) horses and a great desire to make our guests feel at home and help them attain a safe Trailhead Wilderness experience with beautiful scenery, great fishing and clean crisp air!

This guy thinks he’s the law and order of the ranch. There are 75+ homesites here with ppl who live here year round. He’s been harassing homeowners for months for zero reason. He’s just trying to cause problems. He doesn’t own the lodge but is running it into the ground. They have significant turn over and mixes results of the meals they are serving. The management seems to be more interested in spreading false rumors and disparaging the homeowners than actually carrying for the lodge. What a shame. I’ve been coming here for 40 years and have never seen so much awfulness. It makes me sad. This behavior doesn’t represent Wyoming to me.
Find another place to outfit and glam camp until management changes.

Our Lodge Management has changed ( Tom is long gone!) and we are looking forward to the 2019 Season. We have prided ourselves in the Lodge and have renovated it to the MAX this past season Our new employees are the best of our past employees and caring and experienced wranglers will arrive with our horse herd in May. Our restaurant has wonderful food presentations on our Lodge Facebook page and we try to obtain the freshest and organic food to serve our guests plus a varied wine and beer list. Please try us again.

This lodge has had multiple management in the past few years with mixed results. The current managers have a lot to learn if they are here long enough. There have been at least 4 different cooks/chefs since May 2018. The quality of the food is hit or miss. They keep about 30 horses on 5 acres of pasture which has been eaten down to the roots.

We have new management and are looking forward to the 2019 season. We pride ourselves in our fresh, organic food and its presentations plus we strive to obtain the freshest seafood in the area including salmon, shrimp, scallops and lobster. Our Lodge horses are owned by the Lodge and not leased as many other recreational ranches do. This way we know and care for our own horses and know their personalities and traits providing a safer experience for our guests. Our horses are fed twice daily with certified hay and grain.

This summer was our first trip to Boulder Lake Lodge and Glamping. We loved it and are looking forward to coming back. Everyone at the Lodge is extremely helpful, friendly and make you feel right at home. We stayed at the glamp sites and I highly recommend it. The tents are so spacious and comfy and you hear the river at night making for a very comfortable night sleep. It's also fun to have your tent right by the campfire. It provides your family with the opportunity to feel like they are camping and yet you have the comfort of a bed and you leave the cooking to the staff at the lodge. Our family also enjoyed a day trip horseback riding and it was one of our highlights of the trip. We can't say enough how helpful everybody was helping us ride the horses and making sure our day was memorable. I haven't even mentioned the food, fishing, and hiking but they were all splendid. You get the whole package at Boulder Lake Lodge making this a must place to vacation!
