I booked a trip for the Dells location in 08/2020 for a stay during 12/2020 using a promotion code for 50% off when you book more than 60 days out. A month prior to my trip, I find out the location is closing for the 3 days during my stay. At this point, my wife and I had already secured our vacation/PTO time from our work and figured out time off for the kids to be away, so rescheduling to a different date wasn’t really an option. I understand there was nothing I could do about this location closing, so I called corporate and asked to reschedule for the same dates at the Gurnee, IL location. They refused to honor the rates I had already secured in my previous booking and would charge me at the new rates, which were of course almost $200 more. They offered a $50/night resort credit but even with that, it wouldn’t even offset the increase in room rate. At this point, I’m still considering my options but I’m very disappointed that Great Wolf Lodge would not honor the rates I had already secured, for an issue that was not my fault. The least they could do would be to honor the same rate. Now I’m considering canceling my reservation altogether and finding another indoor water park. As a return customer, I can’t say I’ll want to come back in the future. Not happy!

The "deluxe" room with fireplace was a lot larger than expected. There was enough room for the two children to play without being on top of each other. The waterpark was bigger than photos seem and options of water fun. The water slides are easily used by larger adults. I went with Covid restrictions but was surprised by the ability to enjoy all the activities. You have to register by using the mobile app or calling the front desk to say you will be there for social distancing reasons. I would have given a 5 star but the front desk lacks personality. I am well aware of covid restrictions but they said call front desk for anything I asked for coffee and a laundry bag. I was questioned about why I needed it and never received. I called again an hour later and was told I never called for anything. The check in process didn't go a expected. I was given the wrist bands to wear and use to open doors and purchase things, but they didn't give us the wolf pass or directions on how to use the dinning pass. They send you a message the day before to check in but you must have the credit card you reserved with available. I used paypal as it was an option but you can't use it to check in per app. We did have an issue with the child locking the bathroom door and maintenance was there within 5 minutes.

We recently went with our 2 young children (total of 4 of us) and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Before I jump to all of the positives, I'll mention why I deducted a little for the overall rating. Our first two nights of sleep were fine (a Thursday and Friday night) but on Saturday....oh man. If you are a light sleeper, request a room on the top floor so you don't have anyone above you. It was incredibly noisy, even during hibernation hours. I contacted the front desk several times and it wasn't until 4:30 in the morning when a different room was offered. I spoke with the supervisor in the morning, just to understand the hibernation policy, and she handled the situation very well and made us feel welcomed back. I really appreciated the patience and kindness from all of the staff. Now for all of the positives! We stayed here during COVID and we felt very safe. I believe they are operating at 50% capacity, so it won't be as crowded as some of their peak months. Papers, pens, books, all of those types of things were removed from the room. We stayed in a condo and it was pretty well stocked with the basics you would need for cooking. Sanitizing stations were placed along the hallways and everyone wore masks in the public areas. Folks were mostly pretty good about the social distancing. One family was recommended per elevator (but we opted for the stairs most of the time as did other families). For most of the kid activities, reservations were required. I noticed for the clock tower show that they had 6 mats on the floor, all 6 feet apart, for those who reserved their spots. So, not too many families could participate in the activities, but I appreciated the effort that was put into making sure folks wouldn't be crowded. We did Magiquest and this area was probably more congested than other areas. They had a staff person there was constantly walking around sanitizing all surfaces (about 95% of the interactions were touch free). They had closed off the cargo nets and slides. For the water park, it was definitely the least attended on Thursday, a little more attended on Friday, and the most crowded was on Saturday. Lots of chairs and tables had been removed and what was available was spaced apart. They had plenty of life jackets to use. I noticed that when you returned the life jacket, one of the staff would sanitize the life jacket and hang it to dry. For the water slides, they had paw prints on the stairs so folks knew where to safely stand. For the most part, people respected that. They also limited the number of tubes that were sitting out (I suspected this was to limit the number of people waiting in line). The lifeguards were incredibly attentive. In fact, I heard a whistle at one point and thought I saw the lifeguard saving a kid, but then realized it was "Timmy", their rescue doll and it had been thrown into the pool to ensure the lifeguard was paying attention. Just about everything at the lodge was touch free. I appreciated being able to use my bracelet to unlock our room, pay for items, etc. The app was useful too. I saw other complaints with the app but we didn't have issues. My husband ordered pizza via the app and it worked great. We also communicated with the front desk several times to ask questions or make reservations - we received timely responses and it was nice not to have to pick up the phone (because, COVID). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the kids had a blast. They keep talking about it. A huge shout out to Great Wolf Lodge for creating a safe space for families to make memories during the pandemic. If you're looking for something fun to do with your youngin's, I highly recommend staying here for a few nights!

Took our daughter and two grandkids for three nights. Due to COVID, the hotel had to modify most of its normal activities. That said, they did a really good job and we felt they made an extreme effort to comply with all COVID protocols. TONS of activities for the kids, could use some for adults as well. (spa maybe?) We ate at their restaurant one evening and were pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. Price was on the high side, but what you would expect.

My husband and I along with our two children (2 and 5) spent 5 days/4 nights at the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells. We were pleased to check into our room early. I had brought cleaning supplies (because Covid-19), but we saw no need to really clean anything. The room was completely spotless. We bought the breakfast package and meal plan. It was worth it to us for the convenience of not leaving the resort often. Just know that food at the resort is pretty expensive, as is most places in Wisconsin Dells. GWL is really doing a wonderful job of encouraging masks and social distancing. I would recommend traveling on week days as it was difficult to social distance on the water park Friday and Saturday. The water park was a bit for our whole family. Certain parts of it had warmer water than others which helped with our little one. The life jackets supplied were sanitized and worked well for our children. The bathrooms were kept cleaned and well stocked. We attended The Great Clock Show, The Arcade, The Monster Mash Dance Party, and The Bedtime Story. They were all enjoyable, and we found if you didn't feel like attending in person, the shows could also be found on the tv in your room. Service was great. Overall, we would recommend for families with younger children. *One thing to note is to be sure to double check that your door locks before leaving your room or going to sleep. Sometimes we would think our door was locked when it really wasn't. You have to shut the door, then pull until you hear it click.
