This is a very nice hotel, and I always stay here when I am in the Milwaukee area. If you are coming here soon, you need to know that the two nearest exits from I-41 are torn up and the hotel is almost surrounded by road construction. Pavement breaking activity started at 6:00 AM while I was there in mid-June 2022. I believe this is an older property that has been heavily remodeled. The remodeling job has been very good in my opinion, but the toilet, bathtub, and sliding patio door in my room were old. The toilet tended to hang up when flushed; you had to stand there and manipulate the flush lever to make it flush correctly. The bathtub had rust around the drain, but there was an ample supply of hot water, which I have found to be missing in some well known hotel chains. The sliding patio door would close enough to keep out animals and insects, but it did not keep out outdoor noise. I was unable to close it enough to keep out noise. Pillows and beds were fine, the TV was excellent, room lighting was good, and the air conditioner worked well. The complimentary breakfast was good. When I checked in, one of the three icemakers was working. It quit on my third day. That was a disappointment. And yes, I did report this to the front desk. On the day I left after an eight day stay, the desk clerk told me that two icemakers were now working. I had given up trying after five days of no ice. The hotel is quiet, with a very nice outside landscaping, and is in a good location near Mayfair Road. I will continue to stay here when in the Milwaukee area.…
Great location, relatively quiet. The beds and pillows are SO COMFORTABLE I didn't want to get out of bed. The room is very spacious. They have a very nice Samsung flat screen with a great selection of cable channels and the A/C worked great. Bonus that they have a microwave, refrigerator and a Keurig-type coffee machine. It also has a very nice balcony/porch if you want to go outside or even open the door for a bit of fresh air. All of their toiletries are J.R. Watkins, which I love and smell SOOOOO good! They all worked very well. The bathroom itself is a little small, but completely sufficient for one person and my purposes. The breakfast was also very plentiful and had almost everything you could want for a free, continental breakfast. It had hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage), and a great array of other foods such as toast, bagels, cream cheese, pastries, milk, juice, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. The coffee was FANTASTIC!! I am a lover of good, strong, coffee and this did not disappoint - and they had liquid half and half for creamer - YES! The staff was very friendly, everywhere I went - if I passed a staff member, they always had a smile and said, "Good Morning" or "Hello." Overall, a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again if needed. The only thing that wasn't great was that the breakfast on my second morning there was late, so I couldn't partake (had to leave early). It's supposed to be 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM, but it wasn't ready until about 6:30 AM.…
This hotel is just off I894 at North Street and near a Walgreens, many shops and restaurants. The staff was excellent - helping my son with the things he needed and answering all the questions we had. The king suite we stayed in gave my husband and I some privacy while our son enjoyed his own room.
Had to book a room quickly on Christmas Eve due to sick family member. First were given keys that would not work, which is really no problem. Had to get new keys and for some reason, was assigned to a new room. The doors of the rooms looked so cheap and beat up. Room was satisfactory. Upon rising in the morning, discovered that the shower/tub would not work. Not one drop of water! So had to show up on Christmas Day with no shower. Would not issue refund because we booked through trip.com. So advise: Check the shower IMMEDIATELY upon arriving if you plan to be clean in the morning.
Price was fair Staff pleasant Location worked well for me While not horrible, Room did not smell fresh Furniture and entry floor to room was in need of cleaning. Mildew on wall by shower and toilet Bed sheets looked and felt great Bed was comfortable Liked having the extra outlets Liked having the fridge, coffee maker and micro
I stayed here the night following surgery at nearby Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, as my sister and brother-in-law were staying there. I was given a quite large single room (my relatives' double room was significantly smaller) with a king-size bed. Unlike some other reviewers, I had no complaints--the bed was comfortable, the bathroom large and well-equipped with towels, the TV worked well, and there was sufficient storage space. Since I am deaf, I could hear no traffic noise. The room was spotless. There was a small fridge--not a mini-bar, so I could store restaurant leftovers--a microwave, a small safe, iron, and ironing board, as well as a love seat sofa. There was a Keurig coffeemaker with three insert cups, which made weak coffee, as was the case at breakfast (until fairly recently, weak coffee in bottomless cups was a local tradition, until the restaurant revolution reached Milwaukee around 2008-2010, but there are still holdouts. Breakfast had a large assortment of hot and cold options--a good selection for a complimentary breakfast in a hotel in this price range. Both check-in and check-out were handled efficiently by friendly staff members. I do not dispute the less positive reviews; perhaps I was just lucky, but my one-night stay was entirely satisfactory and commendable for a hotel in this price range and in this location. I suppose that one could get more luxurious quarters, but for a reasonable price, I think that I did very well.…
You can see there are investing and renovating but still is a work in progress. Nice TV, linens and main lobby among other highlights but you can see inside of the bathrooms the doors are from the 1970's. It is weird to invest so much money but leave other things unchanged. Location is central, but windows need further insulation to help with street noise.
When we got into our room, there was a used water bottle on the nightstand, which I brought to the attention of the Desk Clerk. I also had to fix the screen in the window myself so that the window would close completely. The place needs a thorough scrubbing and a LOT of touch-up paint. No Housekeeping Staff can deep-clean a hotel, and this place needs a thorough deep-clean. We ran out of kleenex, so I put the empty kleenex holder on its side in the bathroom. When we returned, the holder was stood back up, but no fresh kleenex box inside. And the second day, we got fresh bath towels, but no fresh hand towels. The Breakfast Buffet area was incredibly hot, and in the evening multiple smokers were hanging out right outside the entrance, so the smoking area should be moved.
The room was clean enough and the bed, sheets and pillows were quite comfortable. This property has been remodeled with a nod to boutique styling since we were last here about 4 years ago. However, in our room the bathroom door has a water-rotted bottom and is difficult, and noisy, to close, and one of the charger outlets had been pulled away from the wall. The drapes have been replaced with shades that run in a vertical track; this system works great to block outside lights at night. All hotels should do this so we don’t have to remember to pack binder clips to close gaps in the drapes. I was in the breakfast room prior to the 6:00 opening and noticed that the buffet room was dark and quiet. At a little after 6:00 I asked the receptionist if breakfast was being served. He said yes, and he walked over, opened the door, turned on the light, then walked back to the front desk. Not sure when the breakfast had been set out or by who. It was a little confusing. And there was still nobody manning the buffet when I left at 7:00. The pancake machine wasn’t working and the orange juice dispenser was dispensing alternate spurts of OJ and water. Our WiFi access was no longer available to us the morning of our departure. I would have expected to have it until check out time. Would we stay here again? Probably not for what we paid. …
Updated room is always nice, even though some minor attention could be used. Reported to front desk that the carpet on third floor was frayed at seam and the door to our bath was binding and would not shut. Breakfast items are still a problem, on the first morning there was no milk, either skim, 2%, or whole. Second morning there was no butter or margarine.
