Nancy maintains a beautiful property and is an excellent host. I stayed here last May and it was such a treat. If you are looking for a picturesque Viroqua get-away with an equally awesome host, please stop by here.
This B &B is looked two blocks from Viroqua's vibrant downtown and is in walking distance from the acclaimed Driftless Cafe and the charming Temple Theater. Parking in on the street, but you'll have no problem finding a space. Despite plenty of snow, the owners made sure there was a large shoveled out space from the street to the sidewalk. Our first-floor room with a king-sized bed was spacious and cozy.. The bed was firm and comfortable. The private bathroom could be shut off from the rest of the suite. It was odd-shaped, but that's what you need to do with large historic property. There is a large porch in front. In the summer I can see sitting out there with friends socializing and having few adult beverages just watching the world pass by. The front parlor was comfortable to hang out in after before turning in for the night. There are a few nits I would pick. We made our reservation weeks in advance and we like to have a king size bed so we both sleep well. A couple nights before our stay we received a call from the inn asking us if we would consider switching rooms to a room on the second floor without a king bed. We were told a person with mobility challenges wanted a first floor room. We declined. It was awkward. Most B & Bs have a warm breakfast in the morning. This one had fruit, juice, water and scones available. I don't like scones, so I didn't have any. My partner said they weren't completely baked and were "doughy". I guess for $140 it was fine not having a warm breakfast in the morning, but I think it's a nice touch. The final nit is the first floor room didn't have latch on the sliding pocket door. Average is not bad and I would stay here again. It's not plush like Madison's Mansion Hill Inn, but it comfortable and I'm pretty sure it's one of the best places to stay in the Driftless Area. …
What a lovely sight to see two beautiful Victorian Homes preserved to share with others. We were greeted with Nancy’s beautiful smile and a tour of both homes. Our bed was very comfortable, the room nicely appointed. We enjoyed a tasty continental breakfast in a lovely setting with beautiful view. Nancy’s recommendation’s for dinning allowed us to make reservations and complete our delightful weekend.
My husband and I just stayed there and it was very convenient for a weekend in Viroqua. The room was large and spacious and there was coffee + light breakfast available. The only downsides to our stay was that our room lock did not work and our door was unlocked throughout our stay and we did not have a key - being on the first floor directly across from an unlocked door to the street it made me a bit nervous especially at night or when taking a shower. The AC unit also did not provide much relief to the heat, it got pretty warm at night. I would recommend this place to anyone but would have them double check that their room lock is working.
The central location was perfect for a walk downtown. The host was excellent and so accommodating. The living room on the main floor was perfectly relaxing and quiet to get work done, yet a pleasant environment to chat with fellow guests. My room was beautiful and clean!
Wonderful experience in a beautiful location and enthusiastic host. My room was exceptional. She was very attentive to activities and scenic tours in the area. The porch and patio on a beautiful summer's evening were delightful.
We spend a very nice weekend in Viroqua. Nancy was a very good host, everything was clean and in good working order. The house was beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Charlotte room. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom in the old style. Nice porch. Will be staying there again.
The Heritage Inn of Viroqua lived up to its name. The over 100 year old home is filled with historical treasures. The location near Viroqua’s vibrant downtown made it a fun place to stay. The grounds include a fire pit, gorgeous deck and greenery. Our pup enjoyed watching the 6 chickens in a coop. Nancy was a gracious host. We would definitely recommend this place.
The house was stuffy and needs to be aired out. The proprietor didn't wear a mask and told us that people who have been vaccinated are still getting sick so why bother with masks or getting vaccinated. We were glad to stay just one night.
My husband and I were guests at the Heritage Inn B&B in October for a long weekend. Nancy, the proprietor was very welcoming. She gave us a quick tour of the home, showed us where breakfast would be set up in the morning, gave us some background on the room we stayed in (The Charlotte). A long-time Viroqua resident, she was able to recommend places to visit in Viroqua and beyond. The B&B was just down the street from the main thoroughfare, so it was conveniently located. Our accommodations were comfortable, including a very large (and high) bed, and a private bathroom and shower. After we got home we realized we left the specialty cheeses from the farmer’s market, in the B&B fridge. Nancy was generous enough to agree to ship it to us. We were glad to have stayed.
