My husband and I were guests at the Heritage Inn B&B in October for a long weekend. Nancy, the proprietor was very welcoming. She gave us a quick tour of the home, showed us where breakfast would be set up in the morning, gave us some background on the room we stayed in (The Charlotte). A long-time Viroqua resident, she was able to recommend places to visit in Viroqua and beyond. The B&B was just down the street from the main thoroughfare, so it was conveniently located. Our accommodations were comfortable, including a very large (and high) bed, and a private bathroom and shower. After we got home we realized we left the specialty cheeses from the farmer’s market, in the B&B fridge. Nancy was generous enough to agree to ship it to us. We were glad to have stayed.
Loved the quaintness of both properties. It was quiet, the chocolate chip muffins were amazing. Nice location close to everything. Great recommendations for hiking, local restaurants. The Viroqua Farmers Market was neat and had a lot of Amish goods.
I was lucky enough to land at the Viroqua Heritage Inn for two nights recently. There are two 1890s era homes directly across the street from each other. The room I stayed in was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. I especially loved the deep tub for a long soak. Nancy is a lovely host, and the Inn is conveniently located two blocks off the Main Street. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
For those who appreciate history, the Viroqua Heritage Inn is a treasure! The rooms are authentically furnished with fascinating antiques. Yet the modern conveniences are present for the traveler's comfort. The town offers lovely streets to explore on foot. Good sources of food in the local coop and unique locally owned restaurants.
What a beautiful place! And Nancy is delightful. We have been going to the Driftless area for the last 20 years and staying at various locales, but normally closer to LaCrosse or Platteville. This was our first stay at Viroqua Heritage Inn and we would definitely return. Loved the charming home and it’s convenience to downtown. While hubby fished, I enjoyed shopping; walking; and the ambiance of my lodging. Reading and quilting in the beautiful parlor, surrounded by lovely artifacts of a bygone time, was very much appreciated. The fresh coffee, fruit, and pastries for breakfast were generous and delicious. We will be back!
