Host was wonderful and accommodating. Wonderful breakfast with her homemade crepes. Very cozy atmosphere. Location is great outside Madison where it is quiet. About 30 min to downtown Madison, 10 minutes to Verona, 10 to Mt. Horub (I like eating at the Grumpy Troll). We like to bike around Madison and did part of the Military Ridge State trail, which is a few miles or less away. Host let us park bikes in garage overnight.

We stayed at this lovely inn when visiting family who work at nearby Epic. We brought our bike and had many routes to choose from, finally decided on the Lake Loop in downtown Madison- only about 20 minutes away. In the opposite direction you can drive further west and climb the tower in Blue Mound State Park for a spectacular view. The views right at Springdale Inn are so beautiful--breakfast on the deck or front porch, overlooking the surrounding garden, farmland and hillsides--- so picturesque. Our friendly innkeeper thought of everything, with locally-sourced honey and fruit with breakfast, and a tray of molasses cookies in the kitchen to enjoy whenever. A beautiful place to stay, inside and out.

You know how sometimes a chain restaurant will advertise that when you eat there, "you're family"? And you go there and think, the food's ok but I'm not sure I really feel like family to the server who brought me lasagna. Well, at the Springdale Inn, it's like you *literally are* family. Nancy is like an aunt you never knew you had who says you can stay with her while you're in the area and she'll make you breakfast! In all seriousness, Nancy has such a rare gift for connecting with people. We immediately felt so comfortable in her home. The land is beautiful (she took the time to mow the prairie paths before we arrived so we could take a short hike) and she taught us about the different wildlife and plantlife around the property. I was surprised how much we learned. The house is clean, cozy, and welcoming and our room was very comfortable. We had the room with the screen porch, sun room, and a big bathtub. We only had one night to stay in the area or else we might have spent more time luxuriating because it really was such a relaxing and comfortable space. We even loved that the tv in the room had streaming channels through a Firestick. Breakfast was delicious strawberry rhubarb crepes and fresh fruit with yogurt. From start to finish, Nancy took excellent care of us and made us feel right at home. She is a gem and this place is truly special.

My daughter and I spent the weekend in the Springdale Suite as a girl's weekend get-away. Wow! This place is absolutely beautiful. Nancy has created a nature lovers retreat as well as a place for pampering the mind, body, and soul. The inn is impeccably clean, the food is delicious, and the friendliness abundant. We watched birds at breakfast , took a bike ride to Mt. Horeb (ate at the Grumpy Troll as recommended by Nancy), lounged around and napped in the afternoon, and lost ourselves in a timeless weekend of relaxation. Who could ask for anything more. We plan to do it again next year!
