Wanted hotel on the lake- love supporting family owned business- just What we needed for 2 nights- hottub and pool were great- restaurant was yummy and beautiful views!! Drinks from the bar were great and everyone was so nice! There is an elevator and coin laundry on-site ! Great price
Place was very clean. Loved the lighthouse theme thru out the hotel. Had a very nice breakfast at their restaurant the following morning. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful!! Check in was very quick and although we didn't have time to use it it looked like a very nice pool and hot tub area.
We found the Lighthouse Inn because of its water front location on google maps and were glad when we arrived. The room was spacious and the views of Lake Michigan were outstanding. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room and the rest of the hotel clean, and the hotel still offers daily cleaning and towel service unless you decline. The Inn offers the best water/lake front dining in the area with large windows facing the lake and a two-tiered room offering everyone a great view. The menu offered traditional items and the food was very good and the staff friendly. The hotel is steps away from a walk on the beach and the Mariners Trail for walking or bike riding along the lake. Great place to stay.
Older hotel on Lake Michigan, 2 night stay. Polite staff, lighting in halls was dim, 2 queen beds, very SOFT, very uncomfortable Pics are taken of our room. Our room was clean, bathrm sink had hair in it. Breakfast was good. We had what the coupon offered and was charged twice according to my bank statement. Hotel is looking into it.
Pros: Very clean, large room overlooking the shoreline to the south and the Manitowoc skyline which the big orange moon dropped below as it set around midnight. Waves crashing on the shore made for peaceful rest. Front desk personnel very helpful and pleasant. Good breakfast. Great location on the bike trail and beach. Restaurant, bar, and ice cream shop on-site. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. Cons: no usb port or accessible electrical outlet except in bathroom.
I really liked this hotel. I recommend staying in the king room with the view because the lake view is phenomenal. The front desk employee was so nice and helpful. It’s also nice because they have a restaurant is in the hotel and it has good food and a view. The town is also within walking distance. The only downside is the windows outside have a lot of cobwebs and spiders so made the place seem not as clean and our lamp inside had a lot of cobwebs. The hotel is also old and smells old which didn’t bother us but might bother others.
This Inn is right on Lake Michigan...so close that we felt like we were on the water at a vacation "destination". Although an older hotel, it was decorated with a nice nautical theme. The furniture is dated, and the room hallways were like most older hotels...typically bland. However, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner efficient & the TV channels expansive. The view is spectacular, with a walking path along the shore and benches along the way to sit and reflect on the beauty of Lake Michigan. The on-site restaurant offered a full B-L-D menu, as well as a complete bar, both facing the water with big picture windows to enjoy the lake. The food was tasty and the staff was friendly. We spent 2 nights and signed everything to our room for easy billing and quick check-out. This is not an elegant hotel, but it is definitely a unique find, especially if you are looking for a getaway to relax and take in the sounds and beauty of the water, as well as the ability to capture the sunrise and the sunset over the water. Note: The included breakfast voucher lists the entrees that are included for free. There is a full breakfast menu so if you want anything other than the items listed on the back of the voucher, a $5 credit will be taken off any other item ordered. The food was made fresh and hot. Also, we arrived on a Sunday and they obviously were running behind in getting the reserved rooms for that night ready by the 4 pm check-in. Difficulty in finding and keeping housekeeping help, as well as all general help, may have caused a back-up of guests waiting for their rooms. We arrived at 3 pm and had to wait until about 5:30 pm for the room to be ready. Staff was making the best of a difficult situation and our in thoughts were with them as, little by little, guests were able to get into their rooms for the night. Not an easy task in today's climate where impatience and entitlement tends to rise up. Other than the delay in getting in our room, the stay was great. We will definitely return again. It is a unique experience and one that you should consider if you're willing to overlook a few minor blemishes and delays. Tips: Ask for a luggage cart if you need one. They are available, but you must ask for it at the check-in desk. Also, the ice machine is only on the second floor. There is a small elevator, a refreshing pool & whirlpool, small laundry & workout room. Finally, there currently is no Covid procedure being implemented, so no one was masking and I did not notice any extra cleaning being done. Some people will be good with that freedom, while others might feel more vulnerable to contracting the virus. We are vaccinated and are seniors. We are always concerned about contracting a break-thru infection, but it was a wonderful stay regardless. There are several area attractions and a variety of local restaurants, too.…
The best thing, and perhaps the only good thing, was the magnificent view of the lake from the room window and the restaurant. (room window had bugs and spiders outside, but someone did come by and clean the following morning) Almost everything else was sub-standard, from the lipstick mark on the coffee cup to the room not having maid service on the 2nd day (so we were without coffee and creamer etc getting replenished). The bath tub was dirty. The most disappointing fact was that there was no mask mandate. Practically everyone, including the front desk and wait staff, was mask-less. We found that very disconcerting.
The disappointed started just hours before we were scheduled for our room July 3. We received information that the front desk and management decided to change our previously agreed room from lakeside were we could hear water hitting the rocks and the large ships crossing Lake Michigan to sounds of traffic and trees. No compensation was given and we were told if we didn't like their new arrangement that we could just cancel. We have stayed here previously and never had these problems. Upon check in the front desk treated us in the most rude and terrible way. They also gave us the worst room where as we are having issues with everything in it including electrical. These remarks should not reflect negatively on housekeeping as the room was appropriately clean. I would not recommend staying here due to the hostility of the front desk.…
How would you feel if you put in a reservation a full year before for a deluxe room facing Lake Michigan for the third and Forth of July to see the beautiful fireworks and to be told just the night before that they decided to give your room to someone else? They then gave us a lesser room facing the trees and beach. We were told that if we didn't like the situation that we could always just cancel, knowingly that everything is booked in the area. There was no compensation offered. They even made sound as if they gave us a reduced rate, but in reality charged us the same rate as this room is set for. The front desk girl was extremely rude and outright mean. We had several times throughout the year checked in and made sure that the room was reserved as we needed to take time off from work. We even confirmed the reservation a couple of days earlier. We are reoccurring customers for years and never expected to be treated so badly.…
