If you like the old timey kind of hotel where you might have to wait for the bathroom, but you don't mind gazeing at Old Man River rolling by, this might be the place for you. in a word, Quaint. Okay a couple more words, laid back. Just where I want my mind when trying to relax. Bravo.

We loved so very many things about this 150+-year-old hotel, bar, impeccable restaurant, live music venue. We met a friend for drinks and dinner. So very, very impressed with the beer selection. Bartenders and wait staff were casual, friendly AND skilled. Dinner was 5-star--- I had seafood stew which was incredible, my date had beef medallions which she enjoyed, and... More

It's the best view this side of the Mississippi. Good food, great people, best service!! I regimen the walnut burger but all of their food is pretty amazing! Beers are plentiful and live music often! Take a hike before or after at Perrot State Park. Great view!

I stayed in one of the rooms in the main building, above the bar. It was scrupulously clean, and, after the bar cleared out at about 10 pm, it was dead quiet. The room contained a bed, a chair, a dresser and a wardrobe. The owner told me that the building was built in 1871. There was a completely modern... More

Fall drive with my wife. Beautiful country and it had been some years since I visited Trempealeau and I thought a cabin a little off-site from the hotel would be nice. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a very busy bar. I was able to get a couple of drinks ordered and to tell the bartender that we were... More

We stayed in the Kingfisher building, which was clean and perfectly adequate for the low price, and considering we were late arriving and early leaving. I would choose another building if we were spending more time in the room. We checked in at the hotel bar when we arrived, around 8 PM, and decided to dine there before going to... More

We decided to take an impromptu drive to see the fall colors. Had no idea where or if we were going to stay somewhere overnight. We stumbled upon the Trempealeau Hotel. We inquired and found they had 1 room available. We booked it and were very pleased with the lawn area, where we sat and watched the trains, the river,... More

We stayed at the Kingfisher which is a 4-unit building owned by the Trempealeau Hotel and less than 1 mile from downtown, right on the Mississippi River. Despite being near the train tracks, it was quiet. Accommodations were bare-bones but comfortable and charming. Very close to Lock & Dam #6. We took a morning stroll there and an employee engaged... This historic hotel, bar/restaurant is great. The staff is exceptionally helpful & enjoyable. The rooms are impeccably clean, as are the bathrooms. We stayed 2 nights (in 2 different rooms) and couldn't be more grateful to the staff for helping us out as our room was not available at the location we though we were going to stay! We called...
