When I was a kid... ( well I still kinda' have that mentality!), my parents used to take long road trips and we would always stay at hotels like the Holiday Music Hotel! Although, gotta' say, Holiday takes the Prize! None of those memorable hotels had streaming music, Live Music events and sponsors seasoned and fledgling songwriters from across the globe with their Songwriters Festival... so, there's that! The rooms and hotel for its age and history are immaculately well kept, pristinely clean and wow, the Hotel lobby is a Real Gift! The stay was absolutely a joy and proprietors Pat and Melanie Jane were so nice and personable! My husband and I could not have chosen a better place and will be certain to make a return trip in the future as we travel to Door County regularly...One of our favorite places in the U.S.! See ya'll soon!…
What the owners have done with the Holiday Music Motel is so fun! It could almost be designated a working motel museum. The retro renovation has been very well executed with so many details left as they originally might have been but in a high quality refurbished presentation. The furniture is spot on and in good condition. We felt right at home in aqua tile bathroom. The location does not boast any kind of water view or lakeshore, but it is totally convenient for Door County activities. The room was a little small for those of us who travel as 4 people with too much stuff but would work really well for less people. Everything was very clean! Beds were pretty comfy, and it was great to have an easily accessible extra blanket. We enjoyed the real glasses and nice minifridge. One appreciated feature was the central A/C system that was much quieter and more comfortable than the typical wall units usually found in motels. Unfortunately we arrived later than expected and left first thing in the morning, but we enjoyed our stay.…
Cute and clean!! We chose to stay one night here and are glad that we did! This place has everything! A fire circle outside for a nighttime campfire, a shared dinning area for eating, amazing restored 50s style decor and period furniture in each room. Modern amenities like a tv and fridge in room, along with a hair dryer. Comfortable bed with clean bed linens and nice towels in the bathroom. This place is super close to restaurants/shops and easing walking around sturgeon bay. We can’t wait to stay here again!!!! Bonus 2 food trucks across the street. It was also surprisingly quite!!!
What a fun place to stay… room was very clean and comfortable. Owner was awesome. Not much noise, except from the street but that’s normal. Fun to see all the things from the 50’s. Nice to see places like this still exist. Thanks for a great stay
This place looked interesting on the website and did not disappoint. We felt like a guest here and not just people occupying a room and earning loyalty points. Beds were very comfortable, neighborhood walkable and price very reasonable.
We went for the largest room, which has plenty of space. It's a quick walk to restaurants, or there's a food truck on the premises too. The steel bridge is within walking distance, and the Holiday Music Motel is an excellent place to make your base for day trips up into the Door County peninsula, such as Peninsula State Park, Baileys Harbor and the Cana Island Lighthouse, and of course the Sturgeon Bay attractions. The innkeepers have put so much thought into the amenities -- there are even clips to hold the drapes shut for complete darkness if you desire. And the music memorabilia around the motel is fascinating. You can bring your own food and eat at the vintage dining counter, using the motel's homey real dishes and glasses.
The rooms are better than the photos. Location is amazing. Every detail has been thought through. Someone really went to a great deal of effort to create a place so beautiful, comfortable, clean and creative. Well done!
Super clean. Really friendly staff. Excellent housekeeping services. Nice little extras like real coffee cups. Even a wine opener in the room. Super cute cafeteria area downstairs you could eat take out or warm up left overs and they clean the dishes for you. Definitely a retro music theme but well done Excellent location for exploring downtown Sturgeon Bay. Would highly recommend.
Stayed 2 nights, 1 night on each end of our trip. It was exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable. Loved the decor and the whole feel of the place. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough!! We'll definitely be back!
Wonderful bed, no frills motel & room decorated as if back in the 1950s but modernized. Good location, walking distance to many shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Lots of parking. Only disappointment was no breakfast (as included in the cost of the room) due to COVID protocols. A good place to start your Door County adventure!
