Was amazed at the room cleanliness and the comfort of the pillow top mattress we slept on ! The decor in the lobby and rooms bring back my young adult and teenage memories of my music era growing up ! Melonie the mgmt. lives on premise and runs a tight ship. Everyone wears a mask inside lobby and hallways. Rooms are sanitized between guest's use, and are not available for 24 hours in between guests .You will not beat the rates here anywhere in Door Co.,nor the excellent care taken by Mgmt. You are in walking distance of the shopping district,Shore fishing, and great dining , especially across the street at the Stone Harbor Resort ! This motel is a little gem in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin ! My rating overall is *****+

A one-night getaway to Door County with my Wife and my Aunt was complete with a night's stay at this motel. Me & and my wife have stayed here previously and it's always been a positive experience. I really enjoy the retro rock vibe of it, and I thought my Aunt would get a real kick out of it, and she did! The rooms have everything you would need (for example, a box fan in the closet). We ended up hanging out in the lobby before dinner playing a card game and it's just a neat place to hang out in and chill. We had a great night sleep, and breakfast was very tasty! The whole dinner vibe/breakfast bar is fun! Me and my wife can't wait to stay there again for our next Sturgeon Bay getaway!

Can’t praise this haven enough‼️ very cool👍✌🏻....I was transported to another, better era‼️ Clean, comfortable, convenient, congenial. The lovely woman who tidied up my room actually FOLDED MY PJ’s next to my pillow‼️‼️ And the extremely pleasant women at the front desk seemed like family. A DEFINITE place to reserve if there’s a fortunate availability‼️🥰

Super clean. Really friendly staff. Excellent housekeeping services. Nice little extras like real coffee cups. Even a wine opener in the room. Super cute cafeteria area downstairs you could eat take out or warm up left overs and they clean the dishes for you. Definitely a retro music theme but well done Excellent location for exploring downtown Sturgeon Bay. Would highly recommend.

Interesting little Motel with a music vibe decor. The rooms are very 50 and 60 retro and very clean. The owner Melanie is such a wonderful lady and helpful in every way. I loved the location especially. Just across the street is public access to a boardwalk or should I say nicely paved dock area for the boats. The perfect place to watch the Sunset on the Bay with plenty of benches to admire the view. Also you can sit and have cocktails or a bite to eat at the cafe outside the beautiful new hotel along the same boardwalk or dock area. Really loved this and so convenient from the Motel just cross the street. I wish I had photos to share of how nice this really is with the water and beautiful views!

We went for the largest room, which has plenty of space. It's a quick walk to restaurants, or there's a food truck on the premises too. The steel bridge is within walking distance, and the Holiday Music Motel is an excellent place to make your base for day trips up into the Door County peninsula, such as Peninsula State Park, Baileys Harbor and the Cana Island Lighthouse, and of course the Sturgeon Bay attractions. The innkeepers have put so much thought into the amenities -- there are even clips to hold the drapes shut for complete darkness if you desire. And the music memorabilia around the motel is fascinating. You can bring your own food and eat at the vintage dining counter, using the motel's homey real dishes and glasses.

Charming, adorable, spotless and all of the other superlatives in other reviews apply when describing this place. It is so obvious in the attention to details that the owners and staff take great pride in maintaining this unique motel. Plus I feel that their visitors must be very respectful of the place because everything is in such good shape. The immersion experience begins in the retro lobby when you are handed an actual key on motel branded key chain. So fun. There are only 18 rooms, so it's not far to walk to your room (be aware however that there is no elevator). You pass the little time capsule common area kitchenett on your way if you are on the first floor. Microwave and plenty of glasses and fiesta like dishware and extra coffee supplies if needed (there is also an ice machine in a side room) In addtion to many 50's and 60's decorations, local artists are also hilighted in several mediums. Your retro room has many accomodations bringing the comfort level into this century. The bathroom with original tile, has updated toilet and bathtubs with showers. As a senior, we don't generally book rooms with shower over tub, but the threshhold was low and the grab bars in the right place, plus the bottom of the tub is treated with an anti slip surface. There is a motion detector for the bathroom light for those of us that get up during the night. Beds are comfy. Plenty of outlets to recharge your devices. Coffee in the room. (no breakfast provided, but you have a fridge and you are in walkable distance to many places for breakfast). We found the place to be very quiet with black out curtains for a good sleep. And you will never, ever find friendlier staff.

What the owners have done with the Holiday Music Motel is so fun! It could almost be designated a working motel museum. The retro renovation has been very well executed with so many details left as they originally might have been but in a high quality refurbished presentation. The furniture is spot on and in good condition. We felt right at home in aqua tile bathroom. The location does not boast any kind of water view or lakeshore, but it is totally convenient for Door County activities. The room was a little small for those of us who travel as 4 people with too much stuff but would work really well for less people. Everything was very clean! Beds were pretty comfy, and it was great to have an easily accessible extra blanket. We enjoyed the real glasses and nice minifridge. One appreciated feature was the central A/C system that was much quieter and more comfortable than the typical wall units usually found in motels. Unfortunately we arrived later than expected and left first thing in the morning, but we enjoyed our stay.

Outstanding customer service from the owner's family. We decided to stay here because of the wonderful reviews plus location to the Harbor and downtown Sturgeon Bay. The positive reviews are all correct; actually I don't recall any negative reviews. This place is clean and perfect. The Harbor is across the street and downtown is nearby with quite a few restaurants.
When you first arrive to check in, the reception area is like a museum; loved it. Also, we appreciated the notes placed around the hotel and room to let you know where everything is or how to correctly operate something.....thank you for that.
We will definitely stay here again. This is a very unique hotel at its best; a return to the 50s and 60s and it is not "run down". There even might be some objects in the room or lobby that you have never seen before:)
Saving the best for last; Melaney was the best and so very helpful. Very professional and accommodating. We haven't seen somebody who runs/manages a business this great in many years..... thank you Holiday Music Motel:)

Yes, we do accept pets on the first floor only but before booking with a pet, please review our pet policies listed below:
-- $8 per pet/per night fee
-- allowed on first floor only rooms 120-128 (NOT in diner area)
-- must be bathed prior to check-in (stinky or unkempt pets will not be allowed inside)
-- mature pets only (no pets under the age of 3)
-- no barking or whining dogs
-- trained pets only
-- bring your own doggie blankets! Our bedding and beds are for people only and bedding used for pets cannot be used again in guest rooms. (Minimum $50 replacement charge for misued bedding.)
** While we are happy to help in any way to make your travels with your pet as easy as possible, as a rule pets are not allowed to be left alone in rooms. Exceptions to this can only be approved by melaniejane in advance of reservation and will necessitate certain restrictions as we must protect our other guests from potentially disruptive situations.
Please be advised that we reserve the right to charge accordingly for damages including all cleaning costs and any loss of revenue associated with a pet not properly maintained while on site.
