We had a good stay on our way up to northern door county. It is a little dated but most locations in Door County are and retain that "old school" charm. It was clean and that's what mattered to us. Staff at front desk was pleasant and helpful. Covid protocols were in place. We opted for a regular king room instead of suite as we were only staying one night. We were placed on the 3rd floor so had a good view of the bay. I appreciated that there were two comfortable chairs to sit in instead of the usual one chair in most hotels. Also a mini fridge/microwave/coffee bar. Price was fair. I do have an issue with the fact that most hotels only put 2 full size towels in guests rooms. Most women I know use 2 towels (one hair/one body) when they shower so with a couple one short. I realize you can request more but never think of it until too late. Would recommend this place for a jumping off point if going further north.

Clean sheets, clean lounge chairs, clean bathroom!
I missed Door County Coffee for my packets , but the coffee was delicious! Frig appeared clean! Dishes clean! Microwave could use a dusting to show cleanliness is a high priority. Two closets were WONDERFUL! The view was beautiful too!!!
Hot tub could use Soft and Scrub instead of just the spray of bleach. You can see a soap line four inches up from the bottom of the tub.

We chose to spend 4 days at the Bridgeport for a winter getaway with another couple and weren't disappointed. The location is excellent - a few blocks from downtown, across the street from the Maritime Museum, two blocks of interesting shops right outside the main entrance, and next door to Sonny's which serves excellent pizza.

Our room was at the end of a very long hall. It had two private balconies and a wonderful view of the bay and the shipyard. I only wish it had been warm enough to sit outside. The king beds were comfy, the fireplace was a great addition with temperatures hovering around 0 degrees, and the living room furniture was comfortable.

We cooked most of our meals at the resort and found we had to improvise when it came to kettles, lids, a large bowl, and kitchen towels. We also could have used a dishpan and a drainer since we weren't about to use the dishwasher for the few plates and glasses that were used each meal. To be fair, they do say guests can request other necessities from the main desk.

I would love to go back to experience summer at Bridgeport. It made for a wonderful home away from home.

Started out great with friendly front desk staff and walking into a clean condo style room. Once you stay a bit and look around you see the real issues.

The good:
condo-style with full kitchen
Great location on the lake with view of the shipyard
Close to a lot of restaurants you can walk to
Signage reminding patrons to adhere to quiet hours.

The bad:
The blinds are a child safety issue with their long cords. I don’t even think they make them like this anymore because all the child injuries and such.

The balcony was very buggy (could be improved by screening it in.)

Balcony had cobwebs all over the railings. Needed a good cleaning. We didn’t use because of this and the gnat swarms.

Floors are so thin you can hear people running laps in their rooms all night long. Lots of families with younger children should be placed on lower floors because of this. Thankfully hotel staff adhere to the policy and give out warnings and noise stopped for us.

Not a lot to do in this area.

Beds are hard as concrete slabs.

AC units placed directly next to the bed in one room or next to living room chair. Makes these extremely uncomfortable.

Will I be back? Probably not. There wasn’t enough in the area to bring me back. The hotel served our purpose but one night would have been plenty.

I signed up to get updates by email and for Valentine's I received a special so my husband and I decided to check this place out. We stayed in a king suite and enjoyed watching one of their DVD's on the couch by the fire place and ordering in pizza from Sonny's. Sonny's delivered pizza right to our room. The whirl pool bath was very nice and bought one of their romance baskets with bath stuff. The hotel was very quiet and we slept very well. In the morning I made a pot of coffee in the room with the coffee maker and coffee they provide. We then went to breakfast at Scaturo's on our way out of town and had a lovely breakfast and picked up some bakery items for family. Great night away!

Stayed for fire and ice weekend. Left to go out for the day the maid came in made the bed poorly and never cleaned the room needless to say when we got back to the room we were very disappointed. I told the front desk about it and they didn’t care just said ok . I filled out the hotels survey and asked to be contacted about this matter and they never contacted me . So since they didn’t care I figured I would let everyone know what they can expect I know I’m not staying there again and I stayed there several times a year .

I thought it would be a special treat to take my son and a couple of his friends to Bridgeport Resort to enjoy the water park. Upon our arrival, I was rudely greeted at the front desk. After giving my name for the reservations, the first thing she stated was, “I know you requested rooms 325 and 323. However, with you having a larger party with children, I’m going to give you the option to move to a first-floor room to avoid disrupting any other guests. If your children are too loud, we will KICK YOU OFF the property.”

I was absolutely appalled and taken aback by this first interaction. My children hadn’t even stepped foot into the resort at this point and she was already threatening to throw us out based on her assumption that they would be loud and disruptive. After I took a few seconds to process what had just been said to me, I opted to take the first-floor rooms that she had offered. From her tone, it seemed like if we did not comply and stayed in our original rooms, she would have been looking for reasons to remove us.

In regards to the water park, we had gotten 10 wristbands with our stay. Which is great, but when I asked to purchase additional bands, that was not allowed. We would have to purchase another room in order to get more bands.

This incident has stuck with our entire family, and we will no longer be a patron of this resort.

We haven't stayed here for several years, so we thought we'd give it a try. It looks great on the outside and the lobby and hallways are neat and clean. But, we don't know if they are having trouble finding help now with the pandemic? We were in room 308 on Nov. 26 and 27. It hadn't been vacuumed after the last guest because there were bobbie pins on the floor. The shower hadn't been cleaned because there were several long, dark hairs on the walls of the shower. At least we had what we thought were clean sheets. The carpets really need cleaning. But, the room has a nice view of the bay, and it's very quiet. And, the room is spacious. It's strange though - they have glasses, mugs and silverware you can use. And, even a wine bottle opener, but no dishes. Would we stay again? Maybe... It is convenient to Sonny's Pizzeria - so that's a plus.

We stayed at the end of September and really enjoyed our stay. Great rate on our room with a view of the water. It wasn't super busy which was nice. The pool and kids area is great. Not a waterpark or anything but for a hotel pool area it's better than most. The man and woman working the front desk were so friendly and accommodating, we really felt welcomed. Only negative was there is no on site dining. We got take out from Kitty O'Reillys and it was pretty good and just a few blocks away. We will definitely visit again.

We have stayed here for years and it’s a great beautiful place to stay. 2 bdrms, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, great harbor view and many amenities. It’s right in Sturgeon Bay and minutes from everywhere. Very nice pool area with plenty of chairs/ tables and a shallow and deep end. A great small water area with a water slide for the children. A nice game room with video games for the teens. Our families came up with 7 small children under 10 years old. Guess little disappointed they removed he ball pit area, this was a free ball pit area designed for the young children to play it, it was free to use, it was safe to play in and the young children loved it. Now it was taken out and replaced with video games that require MONEY. It’s to bad it came down to making money over a small ball pit. Kids will get over it but it’s too bad, it’s was something the children remembered about Bridge Port. But we will be back cause the staff and service has always been great.
