This was the fifth summer we have stayed at the Silver Star for multiple nights, while seeing American Players Theater’s plays and visiting nearby sights. Hosts Elise and Kevin are the gold standard for B&B hosts. Elise is attentive, friendly to all, and very knowledgeable about the area’s many offerings. Kevin makes breakfast, maintains the extensive grounds, and is fun to chat with. The flower beds are spectacular, and the busy hummingbird feeders draw your eye. The B&B draws a mix of visitors, with whom it’s easy to chat and compare impressions of the latest play or a nearby restaurant. And the breakfasts are great!!
Elise and Kevin have created the perfect retreat. The Inn and surrounding property is pristine. They are welcoming and have thought of everything to make our stay perfect. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and well-appointed. The common areas are spacious and comfortable. The outdoor space is so peaceful. The breakfast was outstanding. The use of produce from the property and fresh eggs made each morning unique and delicious. Whatever your reason to visit the Spring Green area, you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at the Silver Star.
We enjoyed a relaxing get-away at the Silver Star Inn and were quite impressed with the lovely, spacious property and grounds, the friendly hosts, the delicious breakfasts with attention paid to dietary needs, the always-present goodies on the counter, and oodles of bird watching.
My husband and I recently spent three nights at the Silver Star and stayed in the delightful Hummingbird room. This was our second trip to the Inn and to Spring Green. The hosts are gracious, the rooms (all with private baths) delightful, and the breakfasts delicious! We highly recommend this wonderful Inn and plan to return again!
We stayed at Silver Star B&B just for one night, but we will care the memory of this stay for a long time. The place is amazing with great views all around. The owners, Elise and Kevin are very friendly and are ready to go the extra mile to make your stay even more enjoyable. The place is very close to the main local attractions. Strongly recommended.
Stayed at Silver Star on a mid-week trip visit to House on the Rock. This place is fantastic! We had a fire built for us in the evening that we got to enjoy in a nice quiet and beautifully furnished inn. The bed was comfortable the room was perfect and breakfast had lots of fresh fruit and marvelous pastry. Can’t recommend it enough - stay here if you’re in the area.
This is a beautiful, comfortable inn set in the lovely rolling terrain of the driftless Wisconsin area. The public spaces are open, airy, bright and comfortable with cathedral ceilings and overstuffed couches and chairs. Our bedroom was spacious, well-lit (a real important feature for us, who find too many B&B rooms under-lit), impeccably clean and with a comfortable bed and sufficient surfaces for suitcases, books, keys, maps, and all the other detritus travelers accumulate. The grounds are beautifully designed, planted and cared for. Breakfast are delicious and eye-appealing. Elise and Kevin are warm, solicitous and gracious hosts. Can't recommend it highly enough.
This was our second stay at Silver Star Inn. Both stays were incredible! The rooms are charming with comfortable beds and pillows. The natural fireplace in the common area offers a great setting to enjoy the evening, to curl up with a book, or to catch up with friends. The breakfasts are beautifully presented, and so flavorful. Many of the items served are sourced from the grounds of the Inn—fresh eggs, home made applesauce, rhubarb and berries, to name those we’ve enjoyed. Winter activities are plentiful in the surrounding area. We hiked on the Silver Star grounds up to the bluff to take in majestic views—you can see for miles. We cross country skied, snow shoed and rode fat tire bikes at nearby Governor Dodge and Blue Mound State Parks. It was a welcome winter getaway and so nice to enjoy the nature and scenery in this Driftless area of Wisconsin. It was an amazing stay, all the way around! Highly recommended!…
We had a wonderful stay snowshoeing and cross country skiing on the expansive property! The wood burning fireplace was fabulous to warm up next to after our outings. The Inn is exceptionally comfortable, COVID friendly and very tasty! The hosts are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about activities in the area. The breakfasts were healthy, filling and accommodating to our diet restrictions. We cannot wait to return!!
It is a beautiful inn surrounded by nothing but nature, it is the perfect escape to relax and unwind!! The hosts, Elise and Kevin are wonderful and thoughtful, the breakfasts are incredible!! We got to hike the trails on the property and enjoy a fire in the main room each night. I can't wait to go back in the summer to watch the hummingbirds fluttering around the garden1
