Our room had replicas of Frank Lloyd Wright furniture with modern and clean amenities. The windows of the dining and bar area showcase lush landscaping. Breakfast is cooked to order and John (the owner) is a friendly and articulate host/owner. The location is perfect for getting a tour to Taliesin since the center is just down the road.
This was our first time in the area and we stayed for three nights. It was exactly what we were looking for which was clean and quiet. It's more of an old school place, which was perfectly fine for us as we were not looking for a place where "influencers" would go. The hotel has a Frank Lloyd Wright theme and the rooms use actual keys instead of key cards. The room was clean and we did not notice any moldy smell like the other reviewer mentioned. Beds were comfortable. We liked having a fridge in the room and there is a common sitting area in the middle of the hall that has a microwave, which we liked for tea. We enjoyed the complementary food each morning. Some days they cook to order and one day made enough so you could self-serve the eggs and sausage. We enjoyed the fire pit on the last night and were glad to catch it as we didn't notice a fire lit the other nights. The work out room was impressive for a place this size and the hot tub was nice but the water in the pool could be a little warmer. We didn't interact very much with the staff but they were nice when we did. We enjoyed the usual attractions in the area (Taliesen and House/Cave of the Mounds/House on the Rock) and also enjoyed exploring Dodgeville and Mount Horeb. This was our first time in the Driftless Area and the land is beautiful. We will definitely come back here next time we are in the area.…
We stayed one night, as we were seeing a play at American Players Theater. The Inn is very close to the Theater, and is really lovely to behold. It's quiet, with colorful landscaping attracting many bird species. When we checked in and opened the door to our room, we were met with an overwhelming odor of mold. Both my husband and I have allergies to mold and could tell immediately this room wasn't going to work. We were given a different room, also smelling of mold but not as strong. This place should have dehumidifiers in every room. There is a nice little bar area which was tended by the same woman who checked us in.
What a refreshing change from the chain hotels. This Inn's architecture mimics other buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Cole and Brenner are second generation owners and their goal is to make every visitor's stay satisfactory. What a surprise to have Brenner personally make our breakfast and Cole to light the firepit each evening and man the front desk! The pool area ceiling was even uniquely designed. It was especially relaxing to sit around the firepit in the evening and talk with other visitors--something that doesn't happen often in larger cities. We'd share about our day's outings and get ideas on places to visit. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here if you enjoy a peaceful setting, beautiful flowers and watching the birds while you eat breakfast!
We visited the area to experience The House on the Rock and the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. We stayed 3 nights at this really nice, very clean, family run hotel. Brothers Cole and Brenner were friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. There was also a woman there one evening who was just as friendly and knowledgeable but I don't remember her name. The Frank Lloyd Wright designed bar/lounge area and outside seating near it is well appointed and has really pretty plantings and flower pots attracting lots of birds. We really enjoyed our breakfasts in this area. The fire pit is a relaxing spot for an after dinner drink. We enjoyed the pool one afternoon and then sat outside on the lounges to relax and regroup. Everything was clean and well kept up. Breakfast had good choices and they made scrambled eggs and sausage on request. They sell a variety of drinks and treats in the office. We have just one negative comment....the air conditioner cycles on and off very loudly and it's hard to sleep thru the noise when it comes back on. Overall we had a really nice experience and it was nice to get away from the standard and predictable hotels.…
We had a lovely stay at Spring Valley Inn. The location of the hotel is central to many area attractions. The rooms are very clean and the bed very comfortable. Loved the nightly campfire gathering for guests. The staff were tremendous! So friendly and accommodating. They even fresh cook scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast! Loved eating breakfast and watching all the birds. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Set in the peaceful area near American Players Theater, the entire setting let’s you know you are truly ‘on vacation.’ The staff is helpful and responsive, the grounds are beautiful and We will definitely return.
We had a lovely stay with our two littles at the Spring Valley Inn. The hotel is clean, quite, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool/spa area was a favorite for adults and kiddos. At night we loved sitting outside around the huge wood burning fire pit. It's wonderful area to enjoy a drink and chat with other visitors from all over the place. The daily breakfast is perfect, with hot fresh eggs and sausage to boot. My absolute favorite part of staying here is sitting in the lounge/bar area and watching the numerous species of birds feasting and flying around all of the beautiful flowers just outside this gorgeously designed Frank Lloyd Wright structure. I swear the species of birds are different from the morning to the evening time. Such a cool display of nature in all of its glory. I think even FLW himself would be quite pleased to stay here.…
This hotel is located so conveniently to both Taliesin and House On the Rock. Everything was clean and well kept. The lounge and outdoor areas were inviting as well. You can Relax and watch the birds or sit by an outdoor fire in the evening. We will definitely choose this hotel again.
Just spent two nights over Independence Day weekend (07/03-2022 - 07/04/2022). I've stayed frequently and this stay was excellent, as usual. Since my last stay (pre-Covid) all rooms have been upgraded as well as the incredible indoor pool. The pool rivals that of ANY large or small hotel I have ever stayed in. The lounge is welcoming. They had what is usual outdoor bonfire nightly--very unique and very welcoming in WI countryside. Of course, most importantly, the entire motel is extraordinarily CLEAN and comfy. Spring Valley Inn stands head and shoulders above any of its nearby competitors. P.S. Breakfast included.
