We stayed at the Birchwood Lodge two weeks ago. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. There was even a bottle of hand sanitizer in the unit! The resort followed strict COVID guidelines, and there were sanitizing stations all over the place. Everyone wore masks also. The Manager Roman, and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place, walking distance from downtown Sister Bay. Would definitely stay here again!
We booked our condo in the Village Homes in September and asked whether it would be possible for them to decorate the unit since we'd be staying during Christmas week. Our request was not only heeded, but May and her mother went over the top in creating a festive spirit for us. Also, Roman, the general manager, has been very thoughtful and considerate, adding to our wonderful stay. We could not ask for more! Thank you - we'll be back!!
A very nice lodge. We stayed in one of their King mini-suites. The bed was large and very comfortable. The room was clean. The jacuzzi worked perfectly. The sofa was comfortable. It made for a very nice vacation. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was walking distance from downtown Sister Bay. Only quibble is a minor one, the TV was smallish and located way up against the ceiling, a long viewing distance from both the bed and the sofa. It was difficult to see what was happening on screen so we barely used it. It was okay for watching the Weather Channel. Would stay again.
We have stayed at Birchwood Lodge many times over the years. Unfortunately this last one was a nightmare! When we arrived to check in we were told we did not have a reservation even though in hand was a confirmation and reservation number received when I made reservations on the Birchwood Lodge website! We were told that our reservation must have been lost in "cyberspace "! Unfortunately they were booked for the 3 nights we had reserved. They had a room for the first night which they offered at no charge but we were out of luck for the next 2 nights. They did try calling a nearby establishment and we were sent to take a look. Well to say the least it was no where near the caliber of Birchwood Lodge or where we wanted to stay. We took the one night for no charge at Birchwood Lodge but it has left a very bitter taste in my mouth about ever wanting to return. Lesson learned - I guess you should never take for granted a reservation confirmation number! It certainly ruined our anniversary weekend!…
We spent an extended weekend for my birthday and booked a Village Home. It is just like having your own 2 bedroom condo. Great accommodations with 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen and living room with fireplace. Our unit also had an attached screen room. It was nice sitting out there having our morning coffee..a bit chilly the beginning of May but really enjoyed it. I really like this place as it isn't far from downtown Sister Bay but also away from all the crowds. Just behind the hotel is a Piggly Wiggly and also some shops and restaurants. A good note is that the Village Homes are not attached to the hotel but is a short walk. We will be back.
