My wife and I chose the Whitetail Lodge for our first visit to the Minocqua/St. Germain area in a number of years for our annual northern WI/UP fall vacation. The lodge, and the vacation did not disappoint! The lodge itself is classic northwoods and most welcoming. My wife and I booked the least expensive room, described as "cozy", rather than their standard larger rooms which had fireplaces. I was fearful when booking the room that "cozy" may mean small and barely adequate. Wrong! We loved our room immensely! Room 150 is right off their welcoming lobby and contains every amenity we needed for a pleasant and comforting stay. As my wife is not very mobile, we found the room's location to be perfect - not a long walk to our room yet still very quiet. The desk clerk was most friendly - very informative and wanting us to enjoy our stay. The lodge is in a perfect location for visiting the Minocqua/St. Germain area and is quiet, peaceful, and most comforting!…
When we arrived the check in person was very friendly and knew what he was doing. We entered our rooms to find out they were really nice, clean and a lot of room to move around. The pool and hot tub were great and very clean. When we asked where to go eat he was very helpful. Love the lodge and will definitely go back to stay!
My wife and I stayed in room 164 of the Whitetail Lodge for five nights. I previously stayed at a Wyndham facility in Minocqua, but their 2021 prices doubled from 2019 and that cost level simply isn't worth it. I was pleasantly surprised by Whitetail Lodge. The room was very large, with a spa tub. The two queen beds were quite firm - I liked that, but my wife needed to add a supplemental blanket to the bed as a 'pad' to be comfortable. The breakfast was a bit anemic, with hard boiled eggs, an egg 'sandwich' of sorts, yogurt that had very low protein levels, and pastries - but this is nothing much different from the Wyndham property in Minocqua. The indoor swimming pool and hot tub were absolutely awesome! Yes, this lodge is about 20 minutes drive from Minocqua - but for a $100 savings, I will make that drive every day! We enjoyed the pools every night. We will definitely book to this establishment in 2022, and I will call in advance to try to get room 164 again.…
We did not have a reservation on a Saturday night (granted it was off-season), but the young lady at the front desk made us feel as though we were long-time customers. She offered several room options, gave pricing on all, and was overall very friendly. We asked for extra coffee packets and she promptly got them for us. She told us when the pool was open, when breakfast started and asked several times if we needed anything or had questions. Rooms are very large, and the bathtub (in our standard room) was a jetted tub.
Checked in for a three night stay and was told that the confirmation I was sent was not the accurate price and was charged $30 more a night. We are not able to change reservations as we have friends also staying at this place. Not very happy as the Manager was not at all accommodating or helpful.
This is one of the most accomodating hotel that I have had the chance to stay at. Manager and staff are always going above and beyond their job duties. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were met with friendly staff and management. We will definately be back soon.
Very nice, clean, and spacious room, and it had patio doors to view the wildlife right outside the room. Saw three deer and a slew of turkeys from my room . No stairs to climb, all one floor, and a pool and a hot tub as well.Exceptional and accomodating staff.
We found the Whitetail Lodge to be extremely clean and very quaint. The staff was welcoming and friendly. It's a perfect location, set back from Hwy 70. I liked the bike/walk trails and how convenient they were to the hotel. We'll absolutely be back.
Hotel was very clean and could accommodate a family of 5. The pool was so big and very clean also. Beds were very comfortable and seemed to be new. Continental breakfast was perfect. Hard boiled eggs, cereal (hot and cold) juice, coffee and milk, pastries, donuts, English Muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit and more. The hotel was very accommodating and gracious to their guest. Pool was fabulous because it had a basketball hoop for us to play games in the pool. Kids loved it and so did we. We saw deer at night in the parking lot. We have been telling family and friend this is the place to be. We found a market down the street that is open on the weekend and so fun to go shopping. We will return next year
After my 40th night staying here over the past 20 years I have some Good News and some Bad News. The good news. Not much has changed: The view out the patio door and the indoor pool, the carpet, the furniture, the shower, the bathroom, the frig, tables and lamps. The bad news......everything but the pool and the view. The complementary breakfast has been shinnied down. I think they put in new mattresses and pillows which is a huge expensive plus. They did have a stay and play with the St. Germain Golf Course down the road (-15%) . There were only 10 cars in the lot. I thought it was hard to justify the $125 a night. It's a hard business to run in the Northwoods and I give them credit for trying but I have to also be honest to those that count on the reviews for guidance.
